Chapter 14: Wild Wolves
Deep in the forbidden forest …
A sudden dangerous encounter has appeared in the path of the younger ones.
The younger disciples of Master Wushu have come across to a lethal dilemma.
Surviving this dangerous encounter with a group of one-horned wild wolves.
{-One-Horned Wild Wolves-}
These are wild beasts that hunt as a group. They have sharp claws and deadly canines. These creatures are most-well known for their swift attacks and savage bites. The leader of the pack has special white diamond symbol around its horn.
The leader of the pack has a dangerous ability to summon,
{-Lightning Blast-} and {-Lightning Whip-}
This was one of the reasons that Master Wushu wanted the disciples to avoid the forest because there are powerful beasts and creatures that linger and roam around the forest to hunt.
Forests are not the place for weak humans to pass through alone.
"Hawks! What are we gonna do? These wolves are not looking friendly at all." Billy asked Hawks for their next move since the wild beasts are currently growling at them.
One wolf after the other started appearing from the shadows.
While the younger ones are slowly stepping backwards away from the beasts.
They tried their best not to look scared or even panic at worst.
"Just do not run or panic! Do not show your fear or else it will devour us in swoop. This wild beasts attack their prey when they sense your fear." Hawks explained to his fellow disciples.
Such display of leadership is being showcased by Hawks at the moment.
A loud gulp could be heard from Billy.
Immediately at that moment, Hawks thought of way to fight back at the wild beasts once these creatures start to pounce at them.
Slowly, the wild beasts are surrounding Hawks and the others.
From that point on, Hawks realized that the wild wolves are currently trying to maximize their angle for attack.
"Billy, prepare to punch the ground just like what you did earlier during our practice. Make sure you punch as strong as you can.
Maya, prepare to catch Rankuza after Billy punches the ground. You have to float while carrying Rankuza.
Leave Billy to me, I will use my {-Hawks Wings-} so that I could catch Billy.
We need to create a larger hole to trap them all.
Once all of those wild wolves fall, I want you Rankuza to drop the explosive balls that you made with Yuri. It will definitely bury them all in that hole. So once I yell for 'GO!' that will be your signal Billy and Maya. Is everything understood?" Hawks elaborated his strategy to his fellow disciples.
A quick assessment of the situation and decision-making were exhibited by Hawks.
Each wild wolves started to growl more and waited for their leader to attack.
Among the wild wolves, only an attack from their leader wolf becomes their signal as their start for attack.
The leader of among the wild wolves should be the one that will initiate an attack against their prey.
Their leader could already sense the nervousness of the younger disciples of Master Wushu. It could see them cornered and surrounded. A confidence that the leader felt that the younger disciples were outnumbered and will not have the ability to even defend themselves against their attacks … especially from the leader of the wild wolves.
These wild wolves do not know that Hawks has already anticipated their attack and waiting to counter-attack their intended attack.
The grey wild wolves are waiting for their white furred leader with some shade of blackness on its hind towards its thick mane.
Billy and the others are waiting for the wild beasts to attack as they prepared for their own roles to play.
Right at the moment the leader of the wild wolves leaped for an attack, the other wild wolves followed pursuit and pounced towards the direction of Hawks and the others.
Exactly before the leader wild wolf gets hold of Hawks,
"GO!" exclaimed by Hawks as his signal to Billy and Maya.
A stronger punch was released by Billy which created a larger hole than the hole he made during their practice.
Rocks were falling to the hole.
Birds flew as Billy successfully punched the ground.
Wild wolves started to fall one after the other.
Maya successfully caught Rankuza before falling to the hole.
While Billy was caught by Hawks after he released his own wings made of energy.
Immediately, Rankuza dropped the explosive balls that he artificially made along with Yuri.
It was supposed to explode once it made contact to its target. The cultivator must attach its own ki in order to detonate the explosive ball on its will.
-Boom!-
A louder noise of explosion reverberated all over the forest due to the explosion.
More birds started fly away from the area.
Even other beasts started to run away from the scene.
It caused a loud noise and shaking of the ground.
Trees and its branches shook from the intensity of the explosion.
As Hawks flapped his wings and Maya floated with Rankuza on her hands.
All of them watched the scene of the wild wolves being buried from the hole and explosion created by the younger disciples of Master Wushu.
They landed safely at the thought of victory after escaping a lethal encounter with the wild wolves.
Smoke from the explosion covering the entire place.
"I did not expect it to cause that loudness and that such impact! I have not tested this new explosive balls that Yuri and I created." Rankuza told his fellow disciples regarding his amusement.
"Wooh! I thought we were goners. Nice work, Hawks! Quick thinking on your part." Billy complimented Hawks and celebrated along with Rankuza.
…
But Hawks was not taking his eyes off the hole they created.
Even Maya was uncomfortable with the sudden feeling of threat in the air.
A sudden silhouette of a wild wolf was appearing behind from the smoke.
"It's not yet over! Do not celebrate, fools." Hawks warned his fellow disciples.
Billy and Rankuza stopped jumping in their short lived victory.
"W-what? H-how could a living soul survive that explosion?" Rankuza stuttered in fear of the wild wolves surviving.
Then just right what Hawks felt,
The leader of the wild wolves started to appear out of the smoke.
Coming out from the smoke, it started to shake its own fur and wiggled out the dust and crumbs of rocks that got stuck to its fur.
Maya and the others started to step away slowly.
Making sure that they do not gain attention or emit such fear and panic which will cause more provocation towards the leader of the wild wolves.
…
…
"What now, Hawks?" Maya whispered to their tough fellow disciple.
"To be honest, that was my best and only plan against those wild wolves." Hawks admitted his thoughts to Maya.
