Chapter 1: Prologue

It was on a rainy wednesday night, 9th of January 1980, in St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, where Susan Rosier could be found lying down a operation bed, inside the room other three people could be found, the healer responsible for the birth operation, the assistant healer, as was necessary for such operations, and another young woman, who was sitting by the patient's side.

"This is it Ms.Rosier, one last push and your baby is out", said the healer while she was positioned to help with the delivery.

Hmmm...Gasp...Gasp...Gasp...Hmmm

*Baby cry*

"It's here, Ms.Rosier, it's here! It's a healthy boy, congratulations." was what those present could hear as the old woman helped with the birth.

"Where is he? Let me see my baby!" demanded Susan.

"Wait just a bit Sue, the assistant is cleaning him up." responded the young woman, now standing up and taking a peak at the actions of the other two occupants of the room.

"Here he is Ms.Rosier, as healthy as he could be." said the assistant nurse handing the bundle to the woman.

"My baby, oh my sweety, how I wish your father was here to see you." she said while staring lovingly at her newborn's face.

"Have you decided on a name Sue?" asked the friend, also looking at the baby's face.

"Yes, he'll be Robert, Robert Rosier, I hope Regulus doesn't mind not using his surname." answered the young mother.

"Well, you two were a secret, and with all this mess I think it's a good idea to hide him from those monsters." was the answer to her worries.

"Ms. Rosier, Ms.Travers, I understand the concern, but we need the full name of the father to put on our records." the healer said after hearing the exchange.

Both women looked at eachother, worry could be seen on their faces. "She is right Sue, the Ministry will know about this, they won't let an unregistered pureblood walk around, especially one from your family." said Ms.Travers to her friend.

"But Mary, they will know, they have infiltrated the Ministry already, they will come after Regulus' baby, after my baby." Susan answered with even more worry on her face.

"I believe I can help you with that Ms. Rosier." said the healer trying to calm the woman.

"How?" she asked, clearly not believing the healer's words.

"We have a policy for pureblood families, where we can hide the name of the parents in case the birth would cause a scandal. Of course, you could change this at a later date, it would only be required proof of his family ties, only a few drops of blood would be needed." answered the healer sounding as if it was a very common situation.

"I… " started Susan. "Do it Sue, it's the only choice we have" interrupted Mary.

"Fine but I want you to ensure that only the people in this room could know of this." she demanded while looking at the healer's eyes.

"Of course dear, it's a part of the protocol, we, the healer and it's assistant sign a magical contract that only allows us to disclose the information with one of the parents permission or with the permission of the child when it reaches eleven years of age." the healer said reassuringly.

"Then do it." she said, now facing her friend she continued. "Mary, I want you to be his godmother, I don't know what will happen to me, my father wasn't happy with my pregnancy, I fear for me and for Rob."

"I'd love to Sue, don't worry, if anything happens he'll be safe." she answered.

With the mother accepting the special condition to the recording of the birth, the assistant presented to Susan a bundle of parchment with the contract signed by both her and the healer at the forefront and, at the end, one which needed to be filled with information on the newborn.

After completing the form and giving it back to the healer, Susan hugged her baby and fell asleep. Meanwhile the healer took the papers and touched it with her wand while muthering a brief incantation under her breath, too faint for any of the others to hear.

The parchment glowed a light blue light and its information changed, no longer showing the name of the father, instead it was shown a line, which read, "Redacted under the pureblood safety policy."

After confirming the change and checking for any possible mistakes and finding none, the healer left the room alongside her assistant to give the mother some resting time.

Now that it was all over, Mary slumped on her chair and followed her friend and her newborn to the dreamland.

Hello to whomever stumble upon this, this is my first time writing anything so I'll write in my time of boredom where I can't find anything else to do, maybe I'll love writing, maybe I'll have a block and won't be able to continue the story.

I want to finish the story, but at the time that I'm writing this I don't have any more chapters written.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the story.
