Chapter 19: Goodbye
Hello everyone, today I come to you with bad news.
I lost the desire to write this story, not only that but I'm also staying away from anything HP related, this is not the first time this happened so I know that in the future I'll be interested again.
Anyway, when I published this story I wanted to have a few chapters stocked so I could go easy with the releases, but that didn't occur. I took these three weeks to think what I want to do with this story, should I force myself and end the first year and call it complete and after a while I come back with a continuation of some sort, or should I just drop it and when my fire rekindles I restart, maybe do a different premise, maybe do a x-over.
Today I came to the conclusion, I chose the second option. That being said, I plan on deleting this story tomorrow.
If any of you who read this also writes and want to use any of my ideas, go for it, have fun.
As for the rest of the story, I had some plans, the next chapter would have been a Snape POV, from the 1st September to the current day of the story. I haven't really thought of a continuation to first year, so that stays open.
What I had in mind would be in the second year, where people would find out that Rose was a parseltongue and Arcturus would invite her to pass some time with the Rosiers so he could continue studying the Slytherin locket.
Another idea was the explanation of why Rose was sorted in Gryffindor, now like I said I always planned for her to be sorted there, it'd be easier to write and it'd give some fun ideas for interactions between Robert and Rose. Anyways, the reason Rose was sorted in Gryffindor would be related to Gryffindor's sword, in this story I was making the founders artifacts different, more powerful.
The locket was an indestructible object unless a parselmouth opened it.
The sword was semi-satient and since it was in the hat, it would make sure that its yelder was sorted in Gryffindor's house.
The diadem would not only enhance the wisdom of its user, but also make it so the one who was chosen by it would be unbeatable in the mind arts, something like a telepath from X-men universe.
As for the cup it would make it so anything that was put in it would multiply, so if you dropped a galleon in it, the cup would overflow with it, only stopping when the chosen wielder wished so. That would happen for anything put in there.
These were the base ideas I had for this story, if I had continued I'd probably change some of them when it'd be time to write about them.
With all of this said, I apologise for the ones who liked this story, you might not believe me but I've been in your position before, to have a story that you really enjoy reading just for it to end abruptly just because the writer lost motivation or desire to write it.
It was a great experience for me, writing this, now I sorta see how someone would get bothered by comments. Also I don't really get people who actively discourage someone from writing on this website (I believe I got one or two of those messages), you people know that Webnovel is here so people who might give writing a try have a space to do so, right? And you get to read it for free (at least in the fanfiction section) . Why would anyone try to make it so the person stops or loses motivation to write? You're only shooting yourself on the foot, you're the one who'll lose the source of entertainment. If you don't like it, then go look for something that you like, why waste time on something that doesn't give you anything in return.
Anyway, I went in a tangent. I said what I wanted to, I didn't want to drop without saying anything and if I kept this up I'd be bothered with it, it'd be in the back of my head always with a "Hey, this isn't finished, go there and finish it!" and this was the reason I stopped reading anything related to HP, I'd just remember this incomplete story that I didn't want to write anymore.
Well, I don't know if I'll post anything here again, probably will, so until them goodbye and good reading.
