Chapter 12: Getting put in my place
Without much resistance, Fang Yuan went to the side and allowed me to pass through. I smiled with a shit-eating grin and left my battle stance, as people stared at us in shock. No one expected this outcome, except me! I smiled in disappointment and mockery as I walked forwards and-

I quickly caught the palm attack going for my kidney with my left hand and lifted up the assailant. My smile was as wide as the ocean and as boundless as the 9 heavens at that moment! I looked happier than a 50-year-old virgin, who finally got laid! I picked Fang Yuan up from by hand and

Smashed him onto the academy's entrance's sand covered ground. Sand splashed all around as I heard a coughing sounds and Fang Yuan quickly did a backwards roll to enter a battle stance.
The genius Fang Yuan underestimated his opponent and paid for it! He fell for my cocky brute act and thought I was a dumbass like Mo Bei, who can't see through or use deception! He realized his mistake, but it is already too late! He has given me the perfect excuse to completely ruin his reputation of being undefeated and has lost all initiative in this battle!
I could see it in his eyes, he isn't used to the dizziness and physical shock from the pain! I have been torturing my body for 12 year with inhumane physical exercise! I am used to everything from being burned to frozen over, but his body is of a delicate soft-skin scholar and it is on the verge of collapsing from that impact!
My strength isn't something to joke about or laugh at! My body is strong enough to take a boar's charge attack and barely get injured. I can take an attack that would kill any mortal on the spot head-on! With only 1 Gu, how can Fang Yuan compete with me!
I waited for a few seconds and saw his body sway to the left a bit. An opening! I quickly spun around and threw him away from me, like how the people throw the metal balls in the Olympics. He managed to do a backflil landed on his feet. "To think you would actually try to kill me! What an interesting guy! Who gave you the balls to make an attempt on my life!"
The little bitch had actually tricked me twice! I didn't expect him to try and kill me! Killing me would bring him a lot of problems, so I didn't even consider it during my calculations. Thinking back on it, not killing me and losimg would end all of his future prospects. Also killing me would set a good example for those that oppose him and prove his strength as well. This is a way for him to keep his reputation and propose a truce at the same time. He even gains a reputation boost of "He will kill if you threaten him!" No one wants to mess with a lunatic. To think I would still lose to this guy and become a steppingstone for him even when I had the upper hand! He truly is a terrifying, 500-year-old demon!
"I underestimated you, Fang Yuan. You are completely different than your worthless brother. I don't like the idea of risking my life for 8 primeval stones, so I propose a deal. We won't get in each other's way and I will pay you 1 primeval stone a week, like normal students, but any more than that and I will not hold back! If I get kicked out of the school, I have a huge income source on my side. Fang Yuan has nothing, so he will stagnate and lose out! All he can do is compromise and not annoy me. I handed him the 1 primeval stones and left the academy grounds. The kids around us kept whispering stuff like "Even the class president couldn't defeat him!", "Will he really kill us if we don't pay him? He can't do that, right?" and "This Fang Yuan is a vicious lunatic!"
To be fair, I can give the entire 10 to Fang Yuan, but why would I do that? Sure, I like him as a main character of a book, but this is real life now and I know for a fact he isn't going to reciprocate my kindness. Why would I help him in any way? I can probably just kill him and no one would care. Worst case scenario, i get a slap on the wrist in the form of expulsion! That's nothing!
I am basically a big shot in Gu Yue already. I make almost 350 primeval stones a month and am a big businessman in the world of animal goods. Regenerating essence is too damn slow, so most Gu masters can only hunt like 2-5 boars a day. My slave alone can slay up to 15 at a time thanks to Guts and he only needs like 30 minutes of rest before he can do it again! Same for me, well maybe a little mote recovery time, but the point still stands.
Here is another major difference between me and normal people. I don't have to pay taxes, as I am considered underage and the clan can't ask me for any amount of money! This is the perfect situation! Full profit, no tax and a consistent income! Most Gu masters are even jealous of Chun Jack, a mortal!
The Guts sword is hella big, hella cool and hella expensive! The damn thing cost me 150 primeval stones. Granted, it isn't half the price a Rank 1 Gu is, but it was still expensive! The damn thing is a slab of a quarter ton of iron! Who in their right minds wouldn't want this? I can barely wield the damn thing! I kinda wanna see Chi Chan wield it now.
Back on topic. I am rich and have a lot of resources, but I have no Gu worms. I can't be a master of Gu without any Gu worms to be the master of! Before the next caravan arrives, I will have enough money to buy all I need, but I still need Gu worms to fight and earn more of them! Also, there are no gambling dens in Gu Yue clan, so my scamming tech won't work here.
All I can do is gather my fortune and go extra spendy on Gu worms in the Jia shop. I still need like 410 Gu points to get my dream aptitude. At least I am taking back my Liquor Worm. Fang Yuan had enough fun with it! Now, observe as I make a legendary rank 1 Gu worm appear in my hands with a simple

And now there is a Liquor Worm in my aperture refining the primeval essence there. From now on, my talent can probably outshine shits like Fang Zheng. Heck, I might even reach rank 2 before him! Fang Yuan is a big boy, he can manage without a Liquor worm.
I have done enough favors for him. From now on I am going to only cultivate myself and my brother! For my brither I have found another Gu a mortal can use. It is called Beast Shadow Gu and is rank 2. It can help a human draw out all the power from the beast strength Gu they have used. Its limit is rank 2, but there are higher levels of it
It is like the Susano thing Sasuke has, but you summon an animal behind you. It is more like a purple stand, that has no special abilities whatsoever. Quite an interesting Gu. It can summon any beast strength Gu's beast phantom, I think it's called? We briefly went over them in the academy when reviewing the strength path.
The next ranks are called all-out effort Gu rank 3 and 4 for their respective ranks. The effect is the same in all the ranks. The rank 2 one costs like 70 Gu points and the rank 3 one costs 350. Sheesh! What's with the prices!

I want to buy these Gus' for my brother, but damn! 1000 for Organic Weapon Gu, 350 for all-out effort Gu, 500 for Fate Flipped Upside Down Gu and several others I want to buy! I seriously need to rank up to 2 or 3 and start making a lot more money! I need Gu worms and a lot of them!
At least the merit system from the wolf tide will come in handy for racking up Gu worms. Also, Gu produced by Gu worms can't be sold. I tried. The nine vitality leaf Gu's leaves are worth 0 Gu points. They are all rank 1 Gus', so I don't see why it doesn't have a price. Guess a money farm is impossible. The nine vitality leaf Gu Has a pretty cheap price as well. It costs only 45 Gu points.
Look at me saying "only 45 Gu points" when that's half my savings! It is expensive, but not as expensive as the unranked ones. Sheesh, 1K Gu points! Still can't get over that. Anyway, I got my Liquor Worm back and can now fully concentrate on my cultivation.
I kinda wanna know how Fang Yuan is going to get out of the Jia Fu mess without a Liquor Worm to back him up? He will probably deny the claim and not get convicted, cuz he doesn't have a Liquor Worm and the bar owner is now lying about his testimony. Also no motive will be established and he will only remain a little sus, so they can't throw black out of the spaceship quit yet.
Far away from Kai Nem, in the Clan leader's manor "Fang Yuan greets clan leader" stood a boy with a bent back and a humble expression on his face. He looked around and saw the some of the clan elders along with the rock gambling girl he met and the drinking house servant.
He, for no reason at all, decided to check on his Gu worms and nearly had a heart attack when he saw his Liquor Worm wasn't there. After double checking the aperture, he confirmed it. "Where did the Liquor Worm disappear to? I need to show it off at this meeting. If I can't, half my plans will be ruined. Guess I'll have to overcome this obstacle in a simpler way."
The clan elder asked the rock gambling servant girl to confirm the identity of Fang Yuan and a small confession later, a weird mortal walked in and said "You are lying! I saw you drinking with him at my bar! I remembers it well because I saw you use a Liquor Worm!"
Fang Yuan didn't have a Liquor Worm, so all he could do was show confusion "Elder, you can inspect my aperture if you wish, I do not possess any such Gu. How could I be so lucky as to randomly stumble upon a wild Liquor Worm?"
The shop owner countered and said "He is lying! I saw it with my own eyes!" The clan leader suddenly shook his head and said "In the history of our clan, the Liquor Worm Gu has only been owned by 2 families. One of them was the Chi clan, but it died of illness one day. The other is the Sam family, who's only son accidentally caught a Liquor worm when he was 2 years old. How can our clan be fortunate enough to attract 2 different Liquor Worms?"
Fang Yuan had a hint of surprise in his eyes as he thought "Who exactly is this Sam Family?" Fang Yuan looked at the elder and said "Clan leader, if I may ask, who is this Sam family? I would like to request the Liquor Worm from them." The clan elder nodded his head and said "I wanted to borrow it for Fang Zheng, but they have a C grade son who is in possession of it now. I believe his name is Gu Yue Kai Nem? His parent decided to rebrand his family name from Sam to Kai as a way to show respect to their ancestor Gu yue Kai Luo, who was once a clan elder."
"There he is again! Just who is this Kai Nem? He is extremely skilled, intelligent and physically gifted. He can almost compete with me in terms of capabilities, but he is only 15 and I don't remember any famous Kai Nem from my previous life. What has changed to cause him to appear? And does he have anything to do with my Liquor Worm disappearing?"
They couldn't establish a cause for why Fang Yuan would kill Jia Jin Sheng, as the bartender provided "fake" evidence and Fang Yuan didn't actually possess a Liquor Worm even after s thorough investigation. He still had to be evaluated by a footprint Gu and the gentleman Gu, though to show off Jia Fu's attitude Gu.
That is how I imagine the meeting went. I don't know for sure, though. I wasn't there to see it. This is the most likely situation, in my opinion.

Nike13K What? Did you guys think I would mess up Fang Yuan's character or just not write about him? I am smart too and can think politics as well! Writing Fang Yuan's genius level schemes into my story will be a breeze!
