Chapter 15: The Calvary
*Kuro POV*
We all look at the hole All Might had made, and Shiro and I both think, 'If we want to kill that man, we will need to work a lot harder.'
All Might laughs lightly as the smoke around him clears, "I really have gotten weaker. In my prime, five hits would've been enough," he straightens up, grinning at us, "But it took more than 300 hits."
He coughs up some blood and turns to face Kurogiri and the hand guy, "Now… to deal with you."
The hand guy starts scratching his neck, "Oy, oy, what's going on? He's not weaker at all. Did that guy lie to me!?"
Shiro mentally raises an eyebrow, 'That guy? He got information on All Might from someone?'
All Might asks, "What's wrong? You're not coming? You said you'd "clear: this or something, right? Come get me if you can."
The hand guy takes a step back and glares at All Might.
Todoroki nods his head confidently, "As expected of All Might, we didn't have to assist him at all."
Bakugo and Kirishima also state their trust in All Might and have confident looks, but Izuku doesn't. Contrary to everyone else's confidence, Izuku looks almost worried. I followed his gaze to see if the Nomu had returned, but he was looking at All Might.
Kirishima calls out our names and waves us over, "Shiro. Midoriya. We should probably get out of here now."
I ignore him and continue to stare at Izuku, whose eyes are showing more and more signs of panic, 'Why is he so concerned about All Might.'
I turn to analyze All Might and Shiro notices something, 'Oy Kuro, doesn't it look like there's steam coming off of his body?'
I narrow my eyes, 'Hmm, your right. But what if it's just an aftereffect of using his quirk or something. He punched that guy pretty hard, that probably would have generated a bit of heat.'
But Shiro denies this, 'If so, then why is there steam coming from his whole body? He punched him using his right arm. There must be something we are missing.'
All Might yells out, "Well? What's wrong?"
The hand guy continues scratching his neck in annoyance, "If only I had Nomu… That guy would've been able to go up against him without thinking about anything!"
Kurogiri calls out, "Shigaraki Tomura! Please calm yourself. Looking carefully, I see that he was definitely weakened from the damage of Nomu's attacks.
Shigaraki stops scratching his neck and listens to Kurogiri, "Besides the children appear to be frozen in fear. We still have underlings who could be used. There are likely a few minutes left before reinforcements arrive. If you and I work together, we still have a chance of killing him."
Shigaraki's posture relaxes and he slowly puts his hand down, "Yeah… Yeah, yeah… That's right… we just have to do it. I mean, we have the last boss in front of our eyes."
Around us, a few of the villains start regaining consciousness, and Kirishima looks around nervously, "All Might will do something about the main bad guys. We should deal with the small fries and help the others."
Bakugo and I both grin in excitement, but Todoroki looks back, "Midoriya?"
Midoriya hadn't moved from his spot and his expression was still panicked, still staring at All Might.
'SHIT!!!'
Shiro yells out inside my head, causing a minor headache, 'What the fuck was that for?'
He begins explaining frantically, 'We were missing something, right? On why Midoriya is panicking? Remember what Midoriya said when All Might was first going to fight the Nomu?'
I shake my head, 'Just cut to the chase, what is it?!'
He takes a breath in, 'You're bleeding, plus time is. He didn't finish his sentence, but what if All Might has some kind of time limit to his powers?'
My eyes narrow, 'That might make sense. But one thing, how would Midoriya know? If you're right, then this isn't just common knowledge. It's probably a highly kept secret.'
'I don't know, I'm still trying to figure that out. The point is that All Might is getting close to his limit and he won't be able to defend against the villains.'
I grit my teeth and step closer to Izuku, and whisper in his ear, "You're concerned about All Might because he will run out of power soon, right?"
If he was panicked before, he was scared shitless now. His eyes widened even more and his jaw dropped, confirming our theory.
"Y-Y-You. H-H-How???"
I ignore his question and glare at the villains, "Don't feel like explaining now. For now, we need to hold off the villains. I'll get Todoroki and Kirishima to deal with the small fries so that Bakugo can assist us. Hopefully, he doesn't blast us away this time."
I turn to my classmates, and yell out at them, "Oy, Todoroki! Kirishima! Deal with the trash around us! Bakugo, come here, we will assist All Might!"
They all nod in agreement and All Might either doesn't bother to reply or can't.
Shigaraki rushes forwards and holds both his hands out, "This is revenge for Nomu!"
Kurogiri follows quickly behind him and the pair charges All Might
Bakugo flies forwards, hands blazing, "TAKE THIS, YOU BASTARD!!!"
He throws his hand forwards and aims for the exposed metal brace on Kurogiri.
"I will not fall for that again."
The explosion flies through a warp gate and another portal appears next to Bakugo's face.
*BOOM*
"KACCHAN!!!"
In a flash, Izuku flew over to Kurogiri, and pulled his fist back, "YOU BASTARD!!!"
Both Shiro and I mentally slap ourselves in the face, 'What a fucking idiot.'
Kurogiri creates another portal and this time, Shigaraki throws his hand through. I quickly use the sword and whip it onto his back, pulling him back before the hand makes contact. He falls to the floor, slightly injured but a lot better off than he would be if Shigaraki had made contact.
Shigaraki glares at me as I walk towards Izuku and take the card sword off him, "Weren't you just watching? A straightforward attack like that will easily get countered."
Shigaraki mutters quietly, "Kurogiri…"
The dark mist nods briefly and creates several warp gates around me, and Shigaraki moves to put his hand in Kurogiri, "You are a nuisance. Therefore you must die."
I focus my senses for the slightest sound, "My, my. I am honored."
But nothing comes, instead, a dark portal appears in front of All Might and Shigaraki laughs loudly, "HAHA!!! I WON!!! CHECK-"
But his cry of victory gets interrupted by a gunshot, quickly followed by a grunt of pain. A bloody hole appears in Shigaraki's hand and Shigaraki quickly withdraws.
All Might turns quickly towards the entrance, "Are they here?"
Two more shots are fired, followed by a somewhat familiar voice, "Sorry, everyone! Sorry, we're late! I gathered all who were immediately available."
Principle Nezu's voice could be heard throughout USJ, and after that, another person makes his entrance, "I, Tenya Iida, have now returned!"
Behind him were several teachers, Midnight, Cementoss, Present mic, Ectoplasm, and a few others.
I grin, "Looks like the cavalry's here."
The villains turn their attention to the teachers and all charge, using their quirks to attack.
"You guys just got beat by one teacher and now you all are gonna fight a group of teachers?"
I turn and smirk at Shigaraki, "You really scraped the bottom of the barrel with this bunch."
Present Mic opens his mouth and causes an ear-splitting screech, forcing most of the villains to cover their ears. Ectoplasm quickly follows up, by using his clones to start knocking them out.
Nezu yells out, "Split up and protect the students!"
All the teachers immediately move out and start heading to a specific zone.
Shigaraki scratches the back of his neck, "Aw man, they're here. It's game over now. Shall we go home and try again later, Kurogir- argh!"
He gets cut off again as bullets tear through each of his limbs and Kurogiri quickly moves to protect him.
But soon after, a strong force starts pulling Kurogiri away, "This is… Thirteen!"
Kurogirri warps Shigaraki away, but not before he glares at both me and All Might.
Next to me, Izuku is on the ground, clenching his fists, "I wasn't… able to do anything…"
Walking away from him, I look over at the injured Bakugo who is half unconscious from the force of his attack.
Shiro makes a quick analysis, 'Minor concussion, minor burns, a few cuts and scrapes from impact, but nothing serious.'
I glance back at Izuku and notice a purple tinge on his legs, 'So many interesting things. All Might's power, Izuku's quirk, and the mysterious power be-'
My eyes widen, and Shiro quickly comes to the same understanding as me, 'A quirk that can be passed on to others…'
Shiro tries to calmly analyze this, but he is unable to hide the excitement in his voice, 'So, why would the number one hero in Japan give his Quirk to a Quirkless boy?'
I look into the smoke and see the outline of All Might, albeit slightly smaller than it was before.
Todoroki looks at the entrance of USJ, "If this many pro heroes have gathered here, then it looks like they didn't attack the whole school."
Kirishima comes running our way, "Midoriya!"
Izuku has a look of panic as the smoke around All Might begins to fade, and he attempts to stop him, "Wait! Don-"
But I swing Bakugo over my shoulder and start moving towards Kirishima, "Oy! Kirishima! Come help me with Bakugo. He's slightly injured!"
Kirishima adjusts his course and walks over to me, "Sure. Midoriya C'mon let's go."
Cementoss comes over and tells us to head back to the entrance, while he deals with the wounded. I turn slightly and give Midoriya a slight smirk before heading towards the entrance with Bakugo, Kirishima, and Todoroki.
Kirishima looks at me weirdly as we walk, "You know, I never really noticed before, but you seem different. Normally you give off this calm and collected vibe, but right now you seem wilder or something."
I grin, "Oh, yeah, I haven't introduced myself to you guys yet. My name is Kuro. I'm Shiro's split personality."
Kirishima's eyes widen and his jaw drops while Todoroki stops moving for a second.
The red-headed boy gulps, "Like, a real split personality?"
I nod my head, "Pretty much."
Kirishima looks at me weirdly, "Do you have like a second quirk? Or like are you a complete psychopath?"
I nod enthusiastically, "Oh, yeah, I'm a complete nut job. In my youth, I was chained up in an asylum to protect the people around me. And I do have a second quirk. I can create extremely convincing illusions. It's really fun to mess with other people."
Kirishima seems to fall for it, but Todoroki sighs and shakes his head, muttering, "How idiotic."
I grin even more and we get back to the entrance, where we head outside. By this time Bakugo was conscious enough to control his body and pushed off Kirishima and me in annoyance.
A few minutes later, the police arrive with big buses for all the captured villains. In small groups, the students come back each accompanied by a teacher. When Tokoyami sees me, his eyes widen and he quickly goes as far away as he can from me.
Izuku comes out soon after and is immediately sent to the nurse's office. They had offered to take me as well, but I declined, saying that I was fine and that I wanted to wait for someone.
Shiro speaks up, 'Wanna switch?'
I yawn and wince slightly looking at my two arms, 'Yeah, sure. It's gonna be so boring after this.'
*Shiro POV*
I grit my teeth as I receive a sensory overload from the accumulated stress and pain, 'Shit that hurts like hell!'
Momo, Kaminari, Jiro, and Ectoplasm all walk outside and when Momo sees me, she immediately runs over and bombards me with questions, "Are you ok!? What happened to your arm!? Why are you so beat up!? What happened with Kuro!?"
I grin at her, "Wait for a little, would you? I just switched back and I still need to recover a bit."
I relax my body and close my eyes. The scenes of Kuro cutting into those villains back in the rainy area were still fresh in my mind. Since I had been distracted during the final showdown in the courtyard, I hadn't thought much about it, but now that is over.
I look down at my vest and shirt, both have splatters of blood across them from previous fights. I start to unbutton the vest and a sickening feeling starts to take over me, but before it does, Momo rubs her hand on my head and, "C'mon, relax. There we go."
Kuro is laughing his ass off, 'AHAHA!!! There we go. It's okay baby, you don't need to cry.'
I grind my teeth in annoyance and grab Momo's hand, "I'm fine now. Thanks though."
She nods and helps me take off my vest and shirt. A few of the boys glare at me enviously and Mineta is glaring daggers at me.
After that's done, she puts her hands on her hips and looks at me, "So? What happened?
I sigh and give her a rundown of what had happened. I leave out the brutal parts and the All Might and Izuku secret because we are in public. She nods her head attentively and hangs on to every detail of my story.
When I'm done, she stops nodding her head and leans in to whisper into my ear, "And that blood… Kuro?"
I nod slightly, "Once we get home, I'll tell you more."
She backs off and a police officer comes, "Excluding the boy with both legs seriously injured, the boy with broken arms, and the boy with small burns and a minor concussion, everyone else seems unharmed."
He looks over his notepad and nods, "Well, in that case, let's have the students return to their classroom for now. We won't be questioning them right away, right?"
He then points to me and Bakugo, "You two should probably get to Recovery Girl and ask her to fix you up."
I nod my head and we all file into a bus that takes us back to campus, 'Once I get healed… it's time to clear up this mystery about Izuku's quirk.'
AN: No, he didn't find out because of the plot. Izuku just sucks at hiding things. There were a hella lot of breadcrumbs that a decently smart man could follow and figure out.
On that note, the Sports Festival Arc is coming soon, and I already have some fun plans.
