Chapter 26: Dinner Meeting
Once the strawberries are washed and packed I hand them to Dabi. "I wish I could do more to help." He shakes his head and kisses my forehead. "You shouldn't even help to begin with." I nod avoiding his gaze, he doesn't even want me to go to this meeting, he forbid it at first until I made my promises. He also said bringing food was a waste of time, he'd let them all starve to death and start over without a care in the world. "Sweetie, thank you for letting me come along tonight and I know you think the food thing is dumb I just would feel out of place if I didn't do this, it's the way I was raised. All of this has only one purpose for me, that is to say if anything happened where you couldn't call again someone else will and if you're hurt I can try to save you. I can't lose you." He releases an odd chuckle "Just you remember what we talked about and be a good girl, the sooner we get through this the better. Not really a fan of you going out of your way" I roll my eyes with a small smile on my face, idiot ensuring his safety could never be of my way.
Dabi rolls the cooler behind him while I carry a tray of brownies I made at Ryokos place. She was so happy I asked her for a favor like real girlfriends instead of having Natsuo ask for me. Becoming closer only makes me feel a little worse about lying to her all the time with all things that include Dabi, but watching him lazily walk toward their hideout helping me when he disagrees with my actions I feel even more like he's worth all the secrets and lies. "Sweetie, I'm really happy we met." He stops turning to look at me with that sexy smirk of his "Me too baby, me too." I smile and walk ahead of him feeling his eyes on my ass as we continue. "Hey, what's all this something smells good. I'm not eating that." Dabi walks past twice as if he isn't even there. "Hey thought everyone might be hungry, it's not much but it's the best I could do. "Dabi your girlfriend is flirting with me. Aww, that's so kind of you." I smile softly as he closes the door joining Dabi and I. "Baby decided to take mercy on you losers and bring food. Say thank you." My eyes widen at the amount of attention he just drew to me, everyone staring at me with delight giving Dabi annoyed glances.
"We didn't really get to talk much before you were so busy, I'm Toga. I hope we can be great friends you're so pretty." Dabi pushes Toga away from me "She's not here to be your damn friend you little psycho, if I catch you trying to cut her I will kill you." Her smile doesn't fade "Wow I already thought you must be amazing for Dabi to actually like you because he hates everyone, but now I know you're special because he's being very stingy with you." Dabi stares at her for a long moment and she takes a small step away from me before loudly whispering "We'll talk more later, you're so adorable." I nod knowing damn well I don't want to talk to lady stabs a lot later. Spinner helps Dabi to unload the food from the cooler particularly eyeballing the rotisserie chickens. When Shigaraki comes around the corner he stops to take in the scene for a moment scratching at his neck with one hand, Switch in the other. "I could bring you a few creams to try for that itch if you'd like." He glares at me. "I don't need your fancy creams what's with the food?" I shrug "Even the famous League of Villains has to eat." He doesn't say anything just comes in and takes a seat near Kurogiri.
"Is there something you'd like us to call you rather than 'Baby'?" I look up at Dabi with a small smirk on my face, I know damn well he doesn't want me to tell them my name. "Dabi's Baby. You could also do Dabi's for short." I snicker at the smug look on Dabis face. Before much longer the food is distributed and everyone has eaten. Looking around the space is cramped for the number of people, Dabi stands leaning against a wall looking way sexier than any one person should be allowed. I decide to stand next to him only he pulls me in front of him holding me bent over so he can rest his neck and chin on the top of my head. "You feel cold baby, need me to warm you up?" I nod and he moves his arms away from me spreading his blue fames down them for just a moment before holding me again, the warmth is comforting but I still elbow him in the ribs. "I meant to hold me not burn yourself a little in order to warm me up, that was useless and unnecessary." He gives me a firm slap on my ass "Don't turn into one of those brats, and making you as warm as possible is never useless." I smile pulling closer into the comfort of his chest "Love you." He kisses the top of my head as answer.
Shigaraki walks around to everyone collecting their phones one by one then handing them to me. "Put your info in here Dabi's Baby then call yourself and save each number however you see fit." I nod first taking Mr. Compress' phone saving him as Magic, Toga is Vampress, Spinner gets Fan boy, Magne becomes lady, Kurogiri enigma. When I find my number in Shigarakis phone to call myself he changed my name to Dabis Woman (DND) I call myself and ask "Hey, what does DND stand for" He looks at me confused for a moment "Huh? Oh it means Do Not Disintegrate." I let out a nervous chuckle as I save him as Flakes which Dabi laughs at. "Alright Dabi, I'll let you go over everything since she's yours." Dabi nods making me walk with him to the center of the room as I throw my hands over my face.
"You've all met Baby but I don't ever really talk to you about her, it's going to stay that way, you losers aren't good enough to be her friend so just get that shit out of your head right now. Here's what you need to know, she's a student, super smart and going to be a great doctor, if any of you do anything that could jeopardize that future I will end you personally. I'd prefer none of this to be happening but she fucking cried and I hate that shit. That said do not call her unless you think you're going to die. Even then if you're dying Monday- Friday between the hours 6:45 am and 3:45 pm that's too bad, she's fucking busy with school." Everyone just stares saying nothing "You want to add anything DND?" Shigaraki calling me out made me feel nervous, but there was one thing Dabi didn't say I really want out there even though he expressly forbade it before we left receiving a nod from me in return. I get he's trying to keep me out of things, but I can't handle worrying about him again. "If anything happens to this one call me I don't care what time or day." He glared at me and I felt a shiver run down my back. "I told you to be a good girl, what happens later will be your fault." His tone is harsh and cold, I've never been on the receiving end of his anger and I've decided I don't like it.
