Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Ohh! Kill me now!
You simply couldn't let go of me, Fate! You just couldn't let me die, could you? Now I'm back in the game of life. I could have gone to Heaven or Hell, but NO! Seriously, even Purgatory was fine by me!
I got up in my room on my bed. I checked if I had any wounds but I didn't have a scratch. 'Just a nightmare' I thought to myself. But I knew it was too real to be a dream. Right after I supposedly "died," I saw a man dressed in a cloak that covered his whole body, and all I heard was a whisper, "Ravenheart..."
I didn't know what it meant, but I expected it all to be a dream, so I ignored it. I walked towards my mirror and saw, not only did I have no scars, I had a bulky body now. I had an average build and never tried to exercise, like ever. So how?
I neglected my aching head and went downstairs to cook breakfast. I looked at the clock, only to be stunned by how early I woke up. It was 5:06 A.M (this was surprising as I couldn't even wake up at 10 A.M unless someone violently woke me up. No wonder Lavender had to wake me up yesterday like that). I went to check on Lavender. She was fast asleep on the bed with her blanket fallen off the bed. I picked up the blanket and covered Lavender, but there was something wrong. Lavender was bleeding from her shoulder, but now it's all healed. "This just proves that it was a dream" I whispered to myself.
I went back to the kitchen and made Lavender's favorite dishes. I made 6 Peanut Butter sandwiches, some for breakfast and some for the lunchbox. Then I prepared 2 extra Peanut Butter sandwiches for Dan. I packed up some of the sandwiches in 3 different lunchboxes and kept the remaining sandwiches on the dining table.
I got the bathtub ready with warm water and soap bubbles and took bath, filled the bathtub again for Lavender. I got everything ready and finally went to wake Lavender. When I entered the room, I found her happily laying on her bed. She looks like a little angel when she's asleep. I slowly went towards her and shook her ever-so-slightly. After a few shakes, she started to stir and murmur something,'' Is that you, brother? '' '' Come on now the bath's ready,'' Then I slowly picked her up and led her to the bathroom. She mindlessly locked the bathroom door and took bath, while I microwaved the peanut butter sandwiches.
After what seemed like half an hour, Lavender came out of the bath, dressed up, and came into the kitchen, then she looked at me for seconds before she shrieked. I looked behind and ran towards her, and realized adrenaline started pumping through me at the very sound of the shriek. '' H-how are y-you still a-alive? '' I couldn't believe my ears. She just indirectly told me that I was dead! '' Well, I'm here, aren't I,'' I replied.'' But I s-saw you die. I saw you b-being ripped apart by th-that creature,'' I hugged her.'' It's ok, It's fine, I'm here, I'm alive. '' Unknowingly, I made some kind of unusual poetry, something which is not a part of my skill set!
We were silent during breakfast. Trying to break the ice, I asked, '' So, are you alright? Do you need anything? '' She couldn't say anything but I could make out that she was terrified of me (during this, I didn't believe that ''me'' was even '' me'' anymore). I knew I needed answers. Mostly leading to questions like ''What am I?'', ''How am I alive'?'' and ''Why is this happening?''.
We climbed the bus and sat without a word spoken to each other. Then Dan found us and said, "Hey Jay, I found you at last. I heard about that incident on the road, and you were traveling through that road, so I tried calling your landline, but you didn't pick up so I started to panic, and I-'' ''Dude, I get it! We're safe and sound. No need to worry about us. So anything you wanted to say?'' He smiled at me and said, ''Well, I got my hands on footage of that incident and... I found something interesting and would like you to see,''
I was shocked. If he saw the part where the creature had shoved its large, thick, and pointed claw into my spine. Even though the scar and the wound have somehow recovered, I can still feel that claw going through my spine every time I try and recapture that night. He tried to remove something from his bag but I stopped him, ''Umm... I think you should show this to me during lunchtime,'' I said and looked around. He thought over it for a few seconds and said, ''Hmmm... true. Plus, someone might try and steal our footage on this bus, so good analogy Jay!''
When we got down, I spotted a girl looking at me (Did I ever mention that I'm amazing at my deductive abilities and detective skills. If I didn't, well... there are many secrets you don't know about me, like my real name! Hahahahahaha!). But I continued my walk with Lavender and Dan. I had a feeling that she would be the one to provide the solutions to all my questions, all I need to do is catch her, but the question is...HOW?
After we reached the school gate, I dropped Lavender at her class. I sometimes forget Lavender is 12 yrs old and not 2 yrs old because sometimes I grow overprotective of her. She went with her friends and when her friends looked back at me, Lavender's face had gone red. I wondered what caused her face to become red as we waited for Miss Grace to come and give her ''usual speech'' (I got this info from Dan and apparently, he says he has gone through this many times). But I knew the ''usual speech'' wouldn't be the usual anymore cause I could feel something, like a tug in the gut, I don't know! But I knew this was a sign of connection of some sort (F.Y.I., I like to read occult books and see horror movies so I know a thing or two about this stuff :P).
''Pssst... hey, Jay,'' I heard Dan whisper, ''Did you know that a new transfer student is coming!'' I froze for a few seconds, ''Seriously! How do you know this?'' He smirked and replied, ''Well... I might have some 'scouts' throughout the school,'' Then I turned away from him and said under my breath, ''Ok... so it might be that same girl who was stalking me! So I need to act as if everything is fine and get out as much info-'' ''Hey, I also found out that she is a girl. I'm having a high expectation for her, you know! So what about you, want to share your views?'' Dan interrupted my 'self-talk' session, '' Ummm... I don't have any judgments at the moment, bother me later for a better response!''
And then Miss Grace entered the classroom and the feeling of the connection thingy grew stronger. ''All righty students, we have another transfer student in our class. Whew! That takes our class count to 38,'' and then turned towards the door, ''You can come in now dear,'' and emerged from the door the same girl who was stalking me! I looked closely at her face, just to clarify if she was my stalker. She had small, blue eyes, pale skin, long, smooth brown hair; at least 5'4 feet, and an average build.
''Everybody, treat her with compassion and help her around with the school, okay?'' and there was a unanimous ''Yes, Miss Grace''.
''So, please introduce yourself, start with your name.'' She looks around nervously and says, ''H-hi everyone, my name is Alexandra Lilim Natale, you can call me Alex or Alexa and I'm looking forward to an amazing year with y'all,'' and then Miss Grace looked at me and asked, ''Ummm... hey Jay, do you know the school well?'' (here's another secret, I like to show off, and by showing off, I mean a lot of showing off) ''Yes, I do,'' I was so proud of myself until Miss Grace said, ''Good! Now you can show Alexandra around and I'm hoping you both would become friends,'' I was petrified. This was one of those times when showing off never works out for you and to me, this happens every time! (and another secret for you, I am NOT good around girls). ''Yes! I hope we'd become BFFs!'' Ohh! Kill me now!
