After leaving the house, he walked out of the slum area until he reached the main street. The main street had an ancient style feeling to it. Compared to earth cities there are not many tall buildings but their designs is grand. There were many people walking down to the city gate as much as there were entering. Many of them were clothed in ancient Chinese cloth. Most of the people were holding their weapons on their back and waist.
After standing there for a while and feeling the atmosphere, Na ti walked toward the city gate. Before he left the city gate he saw people entering the gate. What drew his attention wasn't the people instead it was the injury on their bodies. One of them a chi refining eighth stage cultivator had a gash across his face past his shoulder till his chest. The other one, a chi refining ninth stage cultivator has his hand in a bloody mess and the last one a, chi refining ninth stage, who seems to be the leader has his left arm chopped off. The scary part is he holding the chopped arm with his right arm. Na ti has never seen such a bloody scene. Seeing this Na ti was a little scared.
He thought going to the demonic beast forest for experience would not be that hard as long as he stays in the outer parts, but looking at the other cultivator stronger than him in such a mess he becomes a little timid. If everyone who enters the outer forest has the chance to end up like them, he might die before he could grow stronger even if he has a heaven-defying item on him. Those people were reporting something to the city guards. Na ti went a little close to listen to what they were talking about.
After listing for a while, he sighs in relief. They were saying they ran into two first stage level 2 demonic beasts on the outer part. The first stage level 2 demonic beast is a beast with the same strength as foundation establishment 1-3 stage cultivator. The two-level 2 beasts were fighting for some reason thats why the team managed to escape with their lives. They were telling the guard to warn other hunters that are leaving the city to the forest to be careful until the beast left.
Its common knowledge among cultivators and mortal that any demon best above level 2 have there own territory and live in the inner part of the forest. After one enters the foundation establishment stage or level 2 for demonic beasts, they develop a spirit sense. Spirt sense has many uses and one of them is to project ones surrounding in your mind in 3D. You can see in any direction and see in darkness too. Demonic beast chooses their territory after entering the foundation establishment, and will always protect their territory. They know if an intruder intrudes when the boundary of their spirit sense is touched. Then they immediately attack to kill. If the intruder is weaker demonic best they won't attack them. Demonic best hate humans. If it's a human who intrudes or even they encounter they will always attack unless they have intellect. If the intruder has the same strength as them they fill challenge and also attack. Occasions, where they run away or do nothing, is when the opponent is much stronger than them. Level 1 or demonic beast with the strength similar to Chi refining stage cultivators are consider food for the stronger demonic beast. They are usually ignored when they enter another territory, but the level 1 beasts fear the aura that is emitted by stronger beasts, so they do not enter the territory of stronger beast unless necessary. In fact, some stronger best protect them as their cattle to eat them later.
After thinking for a while Na ti made choice to team up with others since it's his first time and didn't also know where to start. Outside the city, there are many people recruiting people to enter the demonic beast forest. Looking around most of them were from the seventh to the eighth stage of chi refining. Na ti did not want to go with teams that have the ability to threaten him. Who knows what their thinking in their hurt. If by chance find something precious they might kill him to take the item or silence him. After 5 minutes of searching, he found a team with 3 sixth stage of chi refining and one 7 stage of chi refining cultivator.
He went close to them and asked to join them. "Hi friends, can I join you in the demonic beast forest". They all turn around and look at Na ti. One of the stage 6 chi refining cultivator looked at Na ti strangely and asked "your strength is the same with most of us its alright, But where is your weapon, are thinking of fighting the demonic beast with your bare hands". Na ti realized that almost all the cultivators who wanted to enter the demonic beast forest had weapons with them. He might be the only present that came empty-handed. Na ti thought of a reply as fast as he can a replied " well I had a sword but I sold it to buy pills for my breakthrough". After looking at the messy energy around Na ti body that has yet to stabilize, they understood.
Most of the hunters here are people who do not have strong backing, so they have to enter the demonic beast forest to find resources for cultivation. It's common for cultivators to sell all they have to gain resources to break through the next level or cultivate. There are even despicable people that sell their families to get resources to cultivate.
With a smile, the one with the 7th stage chi refining cultivator said "is that so, I can let you borrow my weapon for this trip. After you hunt some demonic beast and sell them you will be able to buy another weapon for yourself. Let me introduce my self my name is Xuan Di Jiu. Feel free to call me Di Jiu. This is Pei Zi Yun and Pei Ye Song. They are brothers. This is Han Luo Lu." listing to their introduction Na ti introduced himself to" my name is Na ti, please take care of me". After talking for while they came to know each other.
The Pei brothers were 17 years old. They were not twins but look almost like one. They are active types of people. Di Jiu was a 20 years old man with an average look and sharp eyes. He has a serious face most of the time. Luo Lu, the only girl in the group, looks about 15 years old with an average look and was the quiet type. After talking to Na ti a little bit she was quiet the entire time. The Pei brother and Di Jiu were the ones that were talking most of the time.
After 5 minutes of talking, Di Jiu gave Na ti a normal-looking iron sword and began their journey into the demonic forest.
