Chapter 1: Monday Morning
"Sara, hurry up!" my mom yelled at me. It was Monday and as usual, I was late for school. I jumped out of my bed and packed my bag as fast as I could. Victoria, my best friend who lives next door to me, shouted from her house." Sara, the school bus will be here any minute. Hurry up!" I ran out of my house and see the sun shining brightly on my face." Ugh! My eyes are on fire!" I yelled. Vicky turned to me and rolled her eyes." Girl, will you stop being a vampire?" She asked." Yes, I'm a vampire. I'm gonna bite you." I responded sarcastically. I stared at the road and saw the school bus coming." Finally on time, huh?", said Patrick, Victoria's brother and my best friend. Ah! I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Sara Davis. Just your typical teen. I love everything around me except Jason and sunlight. You'll surely come to know who he is. Meet Victoria and Patrick, my best friends since I was born. We have been through thick and thin together.

Once we all reached school, they got off the bus, goes to their lockers or friends and then heads to their classes. Victoria and I were in the same class. Patrick, on the other hand, wasn't. His class was a few classes away from ours. After finally sitting on my seat, I realized....I forgot my breakfast! "How long will you keep being late for school, Sara?" asked Victoria." What do I do now, Vicky?" I said, disappointed. I picked up my pencil from my desk and complained," I am so hungry that I can eat this pencil!" "You're such a big idiot. Unbelievable that you're a straight A student." She states while folding her arms and staring at me gravely. While I felt like I was dying of hunger and imagined all those savory, delicious foods I could've had, Mrs. Smith entered the class. Everyone went back to their assigned seats and settled down.
After what felt like hours, I was still thinking of food. The school bell rang. It was lunchtime and I was STARVING. I happily jumped out of my seat. Patrick joined us soon after we got out of our class. We headed to the canteen and started chatting like we usually do. While Patrick and I were in the middle of a conversation, Vicky interrupted us." Um..Sara?" She asked." Yes, Vicky." I answered." Can we-" she stopped. I had bumped into some guy and tripped over his leg. I fell upon him, face to face. It was only after a while that I realized it was my nemesis....Jason! I got up as fast as I could to avoid embarrassment." Watch where you're going, SARA.", he said with a cold voice. I just wished I could punch him. I stood up and rolled my eyes."Excuse me, it was you who wasn't watching!" I almost yelled at him. I was so close to bursting out in anger. Like bomb ticking, almost ready to explode! Why him? Oh Jesus, please help me get out of this situation and I swear I will start praying to you each and every day and night. I'll even stop hating Jason. A huge crowd had gathered around us within few seconds."Umm.. It is only going to get worst." Vicky whispered to Patrick.
