Chapter 21: Raid
For the past couple weeks, I cultivated within the secret realm under the island where the qi is more pure. With some cultivation pills, I managed to increase my cultivation up to Mid stage Nascent Soul, one level behind Evan. Last week, mother had forcibly married Natasha and Evan together. I left the island to escape from mom because I had just gotten intel on another one of Hydra's bases.
"Cortana, how long do we have until we arrive"
"13 minutes"
I put on a mask to change my appearance and hid a couple weapons under my jacket. A problem with raiding this base is that it's right in the middle of a city. I had 12 other people in this raid. 3 of them are to stay outside watching the building while everyone else would go in to raid. This time, besides armor we are using standard issued weapons used by the military. We have HK416 attached with an EOTech 512, suppressor, stubby grip, laser, and flashlight. We also had a suppressed Glock with 3 grenades, 2 flashbangs, and a smoke. We brought some C4 and bombs to blow the underground base.
A couple minutes later we broke into the building through the back door and killed a few guards. I left 4 guys to search the top floors, seeing if we could get any more intel. and we headed down to the basement. In real life, suppressors don't completely cover the noise so we had to use subsonic rounds. We searched the entire basement looking for a hidden entrance.

I pulled a bookshelf out of the way as an entrance opened up for us. One of our guys radioed in saying that there was nothing useful upstairs. I told them to come down to the basement. While we waited for them, I sent a small micro drone down into the passageway, scanning the walls for traps and doors. It came to a stop in front of a elevator and I sent it down between the cracks to look for potential danger.
After making sure that the elevator was safe and our guys had came down to the basement, we took the elevator down.
I signaled the guys before we reached the bottom, we opened a hatch on top and waited there as the doors opened. We threw a flash bang and jumped down, shooting at our blind enemies. There were 3 passageways in the tunnels.
I split us up into groups of threes and we slowly walked through it, clearing rooms of enemies.
"Sir, it's a dead end" one of our teams just reported
"Sir, mine is also a dead end"
"Rally up with us" I told them
We continued to push forwards slowly while waiting for the two squads behind us to join us. After clearing several rooms out, we finally reached the main room. The door was made completely out of pure iron, we put two C4 on the door.
3, 2 ,1 and I signaled the guy to blow the charges on the door after we got out of the way.
BOOOM
We pushed in after throwing a couple smokes and flashbangs, shooting all armed guards waiting for us behind the door.

The enemies finally reacted and shot at us with their guns. We ducked and look for cover as we shot back.
I quickly swapped to my regular ammunition and shot the the guys around us.
'F***' I quickly noticed the surrounding area was a bunch of open ground at the size of a stadium with crates and barrels everywhere.
After half an hour of an intense firefight we quickly regrouped after killing the last few. Two of our guys were injured but not fatal. I had someone patch them up and watch over them. The rest made our way over to the next door. The next two rooms was easy as there were almost no resistance after killing all the guards at the entrance.
I made our way over to the next and final room with an enemy SCAR. The last room was the most troublesome. We had been met with intense enemy fire from grenade launchers and machineguns. It took us another 45 minutes to clean up the room. It left us with 1 KIA and 2 injured. I left them and continued my search.
In the next 15 minutes I found a couple kids, and a scientist. I extracted whatever I could from the scientist before killing him. The guy had been participating in human genetic mutation, using live test subjects. I quickly took out all the drives and files before freeing the kids.
We carried the body of our fallen member and left with the kids before blowing the entire underground base up with a time bomb, leaving no evidence behind.
We took the group of children upstairs.
"Sir, there are people outside the compound, how to proceed, over" one of our guys told us.
I told them "Don't attack without my signal"
"Well hello there boys" I said as I opened the door
"Who are you?"
"I-"
"Logan!" a little girl behind me cried out before jumping into the man's arms
"Well, looks like you guys know each other" I stated "We'll be leaving the kids to you then"
"Wait, who are you people?" the man named Logan narrowed his eyes at me
"You will know in the future, SHIELD should be coming very soon" I told them "Bye kids" I smiled at the kids and left with my men.
