Chapter 196: Chapter 189 - We Are Your Bane.
Tatsuya walked, reaching the central room. Behind him, Chimera's corpse fell one after the other.
The closer he got, the more voices he heard - he was sure one of them was Envy the other was Al?
"You'll never find them!!"
"Hah! We won't have to, with you here...they will come themselves!"
That one was Envy. Tatsuya thought.
When he walked in, the first thing that caught his sight was the man sitting on the throne. His eyes had an uninterested look while he looked at Envy and the Elric brothers on the floor. There was another feeble breath around that caught his attention.
His sight fell on a man with a beard and spiky hair, covered in cuts and blood, on his last breath. His appearance made Tatsuya say his name out loud, "Hughes?"
"Huh!! Who's there!!" Envy shouted, glancing back, but shortly his eyes widened as he saw Tatsuya, "So it's you! You bastard!!"
Tatsuya glanced towards Envy; his sight passed over the Ed and Al, who had been staring at shock and relief before returning to Hughes. Kneeling in front of him, Tatsuya put his right hand over his chest, "why are you here?"
Hughes let out a dry laugh, "I noticed an elevator in Central Command...seemed fishy so while Elric brothers and Mustang created a diversion...I sneaked in."
Envy glared at Tatsuya, but after looking at Hughes, he started laughing, "Hahahahahhaha!!!!! Oh yeah! I forgot the fool was here!! All I had to do was turn into his wife, and he couldn't fight back at all!! Man, that was fun!!"
"Shut up!!!" Ed and Al shouted, trying to get up, but the weight of Envy's body and leg seemed to be too much for them.
The orange lightning that had been covering Hughes's body disappeared as Tatsuya held his hand, raising him up, "how are you feeling?"
"Hmm?" Maes Hughes moved around his body with oh and ah making weird postures before grinning, "Perfect! Good as New!"
Tatsuya patted his shoulder, "Go to our house, you'll find Maria and Denny there...Gracia and Elicia are also waiting there."
Maes looked towards the man sitting on the throne with solemn eyes, "can you handle here?"
"Yeah, I'll be there soon."
Hughes grinningly turned to the Elric brothers, "then I'll be leaving! Take care!"
While Ed and Al question marks on their faces, Envy looked even more pissed before a wicked smile appeared on his face, "Ohh! Are you sure you are leaving so soon? I could still turn into your wife... We can have some fun?"
That made the leaving Hughes footsteps stop, but they moved after hearing Tatsuya's words, "He won't live to see tomorrow."
Maes waved his hand, "I'm counting on you."
Envy clicked his tongue, watching Hughes leave without falling for the bait, "Oh well, he'll die anyway..."
Tatsuya turned towards Envy, sitting on Al's back, with his legs stretched over Ed's.
*Bang* Before Envy could even realize what just happened, his head burst apart.
*Bang*Bang*Bang*Bang*Bang*Bang*
Envy's hands, chest, waist, legs all burst apart with these six shots - all that was left was floating philosopher stones. Tatsuya aimed for it.
*Bang*
There was red lightning, followed by a sharp noise. The man with that had been sitting on the floor was now holding Envy's Philosopher stone and the bullet in his hand, "Most curious invention this bullet..."
He raised the bullet in the air while dropping Envy's philosopher's stone around which his body was reforming.
"It's far more advanced than anything created yet...is this your invention?"
He didn't wait for Tatsuya to answer while he continued, "I have seen your other inventions...most fascinating they are." He said, walking back to his throne and picking up one of the drones that Tatsuya had made, "like that bullet, this drone is far ahead of their time."
His gaze turned to Tatsuya, ignoring Ed and Al, who were slowly retreating back towards Tatsuya, "why do you possess so much knowledge?"
Tatsuya stared at the man with an unusual look in his eyes, "what makes you say that this is knowledge? I could have invented them?"
The man sat down on his throne, throwing the drone aside, "Mmm...since you are a precious sacrifice, I'll answer that question. Everything evolves from something they follow a procedure. That drone is too advanced - it does have a prototype, no evolution cycle, you must have all the knowledge about it. So you picked the one that suited your needs the best. Same thing with those bullets."
Tatsuya walked forward, passing by Ed and Al, who wanted to stop him. He reached the place where Envy had nearly reformed, "You wanted to lure me out here, why?"
"Oh, it's nothing - you were becoming a hindrance to the plan. Stay here until the promised day comes and fulfill the role you have been given."
Tatsuya raised his gun, shooting, "No, thank you."
*Bang*
But the bullet was caught between man's fingers, "Oh humans...always doing the most pointless things."
Tatsuya jumped back, turning the gunpoint towards Envy, that had just reformed, and shot him, killing him again.
Orange electricity covered the gun as he turned it towards the man on the throne and shot again.
This time the man didn't try to catch it - he moved his head, letting the bullet his the throne, it drilled inside, but nothing happened.
The man's eyes sharpened as he looked towards Tatsuya, "you are the first human to ever make me feel danger..." Soon, his eyes turned back to their non-interested look, "but in the end, you are just human...you'd die soon."
Tatsuya pointed the gun at his head again, "we'll see..."
"Can you not point that thing at Father?"
Suddenly Tatsuya's eyes widened in surprise, 'why didn't -'
"Why didn't I feel her presence? Isn't that what you are thinking?" Said the woman, her arms and legs were stretched like a noddle, binding Tatsuya's up.
"You see...we know all about your abilities...we, the new generation Homunculus were created by father to deal with you. I have been looking forward to meeting you...but you are a disappointment." the woman whispered in the Tatsuya's ear.
An electronic blue shine appeared in Tatsuya's eyes. Orange lightning covered his whole body. In the next moment, he held the woman's head, ignoring her screams - he tore her apart, throwing her to the ground. The other parts of her body turned into black sand, disappearing in the air, while her head seemed to regenerate.
*Clap*Clap*Clap*
"As expected, you still had cards under your sleeves."
Tatsuya glanced back at the voice - out of thin hair, a man with long thin legs, wearing a black suit, black boots, a hat, and a monocle appeared. The thing that stood out was his big, pointy nose that didn't seem human. Moreover, his face reminded Tatsuya of someone, "Bido?"
"Ah, as expected, it didn't escape you...that was the name I had before father gave us this blessing. Although, if you'd like...you can use it!" He said with a bow and grin on his face.
Tatsuya turned his eyes towards the woman, realizing now, "Martel?" She looked the same as before - he just didn't get a good look.
"Ding, Ding, Ding, Correct answer!!" Bido said.
"You must be feeling really special! Father created those four just for your sake!" Envy had a nasty smile on his face now that he had reformed.
"Four?" Tatsuya stared at the two before realizing something.
"The other two went after your woman! Hahahahaha!! Soon!! You'll be hearing her screams!!!"
"Shut up! That won't happen!! We'll defeat you and get to her before it's too late!!" Ed shouted at Envy.
"Hahahahaha, you idiots don't get it do you?!! You'll be staying here since you are a precious sacrifice!! But others will die!! Like Mustang, and that guy who just ran away and like his woman!! They'll die!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
"You...no..." Tatsuya glanced at Ed, who was horrified by the thought. And Al, who was on his knees, holding his head. Tatsuya pointed his gun at Envy's face, "Shut up."
*Bang*
Envy's body fell down on the floor again - this time, it seemed to have trouble healing.
"You are worried about her, aren't you?" Tatsuya glanced back at Martel, who was standing up, massaging her neck.
"We know all about you...how you think, how you'll act...even how you feel..." Martel blinked, her head stretched upwards, while neck sideways, dodging the bullet Tatsuya fired.
"Your right hand...it works on humans and those who have human-like physiology..." She licked her lips, "But don't have anything like human physiology...so your right hand is useless against me."
Black lightning flashed in Tatsuya's left hand, but suddenly he felt he was trapped in a circular jar.
In the next moment, it turned to normal, but the effect of his alchemy that he just performed had disappeared.
"And I am the bane of your left hand." Bido took off his hat, putting it on his chest, "You see, the other two were created for Miyuki and counter everything she might have to offer. So today will be the day we catch you, cut your arms and legs, and wait for the promised day."
Tatsuya exhaled, glancing at the Elric brothers, "Two of you...go...they are in Lab 3. Get there before it's too late."
"Wait, we can't!! We can't leave you here!!" Al shouted.
Tatsuya glanced at him, putting his hand together, "Get out - you are in the way!"
Ed felt something, something dangerous, terrible, even frightening, "Al, let's get out of here..." He held Al's armor body and started dragging him, but he didn't need to before Ed wasn't the only one who felt it. Al got up on his feet rushed out.
Tatsuya separated his hands, creating a wide discharge of black and white lightning that covered the whole room.
Tatsuya closed his eyes, opening them again, his pupils were red, flaming with intense anger. Even so, his voice remained calm and steady as he said, "You ignorant idiots, you don't know what you got yourselves into."
Ed and Al had just gotten out of the room when they heard a loud bang - they ran even faster when the ground under their feet had started cracking, "Damn it!! Run, or we'll die!!!" Ed shouted, running even faster.
