The fat goblin kept on punching my face, reducing my health by the second. I looked at the passed out Enma, then looked around. This pain I kept on receiving… I didn't like it. I didn't like it all. Why should I be getting hurt like this? Because I wanted to live? I saw a slime crawling around, then a thought came to mind.

'I'm really thirsty.'

Even though I was getting pounded by the fat goblin, my parched throat was the only thing I could think about and my stomach had been acting up for a period of time. If only I could drink the slime. Another metal punch smacked my face, sending my head bobbing back and forth.

The goblin then brought me to his face level again. Through his helmet, I couldn't see his actual face, but that grin and those eyes of his were communicating with me. They seemed to say,

"Any last words?"

I let out a burp. I hadn't realized at the moment that black smoke escaped my mouth. The goblin looked a bit confused, then it brought its head closer to mine and my stomach acted up once again. I let out another burp but this time, my throat started to burn up and my mouth turned dry, very dry. It was a seriously annoying feeling, but just then, bright orange flames escaped my mouth, hitting the <<Goblin Tanker>> right in the face.

The creature roared in pain, moving its head back. Its helmet was on fire, essentially encasing its head with fire.

[You have unlocked the skill [Fire Breath]]

"Eh?"

As confused as I was, I wasn't so stupid as to let this moment go. I poured all status points into my stamina, then kicked myself from the creature's grip. I looked around then saw Enma, still unconscious.

'Useless monkey.'

I ran towards the monkey man, then grabbed <<Green Eater>> which had been on the ground next to him. I wanted to run away, but with my stamina being so low, I had only one chance, and that was to kill the <<Goblin Tanker>> before it could chase me once again, so I picked up the staff as well.

It dropped its helmet and revealed its smoking head. It was really pissed, but so was I. It had really made me feel a lot of pain and I didn't like that. I gripped my weapon's handle tighter then ran at tanker. I stabbed the staff into the ground, then used it to fling myself on to the goblinoid's head.

I punched it in the eye, but my arm started to hurt, so I picked up the dagger instead and began to stab it rapidly in the eye.

"Die! Die! Die! Die! Kekekeke!"

Blood jutted out of its eye as well as the eye itself. I believe it was called an eyeball. With a black fleshy cord connecting it to the eye. It let another pained roar, and I moved to avoid the incoming fist. My stamina was low, so I couldn't avoid after that attack. It grabbed my tail, sending shivers down my spine, but I didn't care. I just continued stabbing it, even as it yanked at my tail, I stabbed without mercy.

That's when the feeling hit me. As if a part of me had been taken away. When the weird voice told me, I was shocked and saddened. This feeling called pain. I didn't like it. I didn't like it one bit. I hated it. I really, really hated it.

[You have lost your tail]

'My what? I'll fucking kill this bastard!'

I put my mouth to the exposed eye hole, then activated my new skill [Fire Breath] and burnt him up from the inside. He collapsed on the ground, and I fell off, completely incapable of movement.

'What?'

======================================================

"Huh? What's going on?"

The monkey man jolted up from his sleep. His vision was a little blurry, but once he rubbed his eyes, he felt better. He was surprised to see the black imp on the ground, covered in blood, smelling like fire, an eye ball next to him and his tail, torn.

'What happened over here?'

He walked towards the little freak, then kicked him gently.

"Oi. Wake up. We need to leave. Very quickly. I don't know when that monster will catch up to us."

He saw the silver staff he originally stole from the imp erected on the ground. He walked towards it, then picked it up from the ground. He noticed a trail of black leading up to a point and his eyes followed till they saw a scorched figure in armor.

"Hmmm… I-Is that the goblin tanker?"

He moved towards the body, then poked it with the staff. It didn't move.

"Dead?"

He jumped on to the body, scavaging it, but it was slowly turning to dust. He stabbed the chest of the corpse then picked up a small green shard.

"Tch… it's not worth more than an actual goblin's core. Useless… But… How? How did it die?"

'Don't tell me… the imp didn't do this right? I mean, he couldn't move earlier on, and if he could move, he would have definitely abandoned me. Then was there someone else? If there was, the person might have killed the imp or both of us. Then that leaves only one seemingly possible answer. He was pretending to be have no energy and was waiting for when I wouldn't be able to see him actually fight to protect me. He must think of me as his only friend and wouldn't want to lose me just like that. I'm touched.'

I walked next to him, then picked up his body. His skin was sort of scaly and cold, but it didn't matter. I slung him over my back, and put his dagger to my side.

"Alright then. I'll gladly be your best friend and take us both out of this dungeon. Then, let's go explore, ok? And if anything comes my way, I'll kill it."

He confidently said, right before running away. They were very close to the exit. It wouldn't even require ten minutes to exit the supposed hell hole, so the monkey man gave it his all and ran towards the exit like mad.

It didn't take long for him to see the light of the outside world. He let out a cheeky giggle as a thought entered his head.

'I'm sure he'll love to eat some mushroom soup, and Saru's Tobenka. Maybe I should make some for him when we get out.'

With a large roar, he jumped out of the cave, basking in the beautiful sunlight. The sounds of birds chirping filled his ears and the smell of flowers tickled his nose. He started walking towards a tree, so he could drop the goblin for a split second and stretch.

He was feeling a bit hot. His heart rate had increased and he kept on panting. He felt dizzy and nauseous, but he looked back at the imp he had dropped off without even realizing.

"I-I made it. We made it. Hey, Imp…"

Enma collapsed on the ground, feeling a tiny bit of pain in his leg.

He looked at it, and saw a snake crawling around. It had obsidian black scales with some being creamy white. It had an eye being just as black as its scales and the other being the same color as its white scales.

"A… a… black… snake?"

He tiredly said, right before passing out.

[Enma was poisoned by a [Mavra Candis]]
