Chapter 5: Chapter 5; Turned my wedding into mom's send off
Du Yan.
I couldn't sleep, I spent the rest of the night wondering what should I do? Aunt couldn't be serious right? A substituted for Woo Jin? Are they crazy? Is this a movie or a comic book? But why does it have to be me? I'm here because mom said, they're family so my sister and I came back here after their passing and now I have to marry my cousin's wife because he ran off! If he can run away why can't I too run away? I left her a note, I looked at the time and it was 5: a.m I pack most of my stuff and went for my books! Thereon I remember someone was in my room, I entered to get my books when I heard whispering. I turned around but she was still sleeping I pick up my books, and put them in my backpack I walk to the door and I heard it again! Just that this time she was subbing I turned back to her and walked over slowly she's having a nightmare! Du Yan thoughts.
"mom."
Mom?
"mom... no don't le...ave...! mom ple…ase!"
she dreaming about her mom, doesn't she look like someone I know? No maybe I'm mistaking.
"Mom! Don't go please, mom don't leave me!"
She going wake up everyone soon! I need to go before she does! Du Yan thoughts.
"Please, mom! Mom!! Please, don't go! No, mom!"
Sorry, I have to go and through the window aish!
(Du Yan, took one last look at Ki before he slide down from the window he didn't stop running until he was far away from the house.)

Ah! It's just a dream, mom! Why? Ah why?
Hmm? A watch? Who's? The door open and I hide it immediately, was someone here? I asked myself. Ki thoughts.
"Are you okay? I heard you scream!"

(Mrs Yoo, sat down to Ki and hug her caressing her hair, telling her it's okay to miss her mom.)
I know but I can't bring her back! I can at least send her off properly, I'm sorry for waking up everyone.
"Oh no dear, it's okay. It's still very early why not try and get some more rest!"

She leave then I took out the watch and look at it, it's very familiar to me but where have I seen it? Ki thoughts.
(After leaving ki's room Mrs. Yoo, decided to check on Du Yan because he would be up at this time.)
"He's not here, where is he?"
(She saw the note Du Yan left and walked over to get a closer look, she pick up the note in her hand after reading it she crush the paper furiously.)
'Du Yan~'
(She scream softly trying to not awake the resting individuals. She walk back to her bedroom angrily and as her husband was getting up he noticed her upsetting expression.)
"What is the matter?"
(She handed him the note left by his Du Yan!)
"I'm sorry, I find it hard to be a selfish person substituted regardless it's wrong to keep it from the bride family that "the groom is on the run!" I can't marry someone else wife, if he can run away I too can run away from home and from a marriage I'm not ready for. Goodbye, J."
"He over-heard us?!"
"Yes, and now we're going to have to cancel the wedding."
"Before we do that, please talk to Kian and hear what she has to say on it!"
"I don't think she's okay, earlier she was screaming for her mom and now to tell her the groom has run away from home because he thinks she ugly."
"Let's talk to her first!"
"Alright after breakfast, I told her to take more rest!"
"Hmm! I will try to get one of those bastard back here however, it might be a little bit late for that don't you think?"
"Let's wait first, I'm not sure of Kian thoughts but she was also force into this marriage same as Woo Jin. Now Du Yan has run away too..! Did we ever stop to wonder if this is something Kian wants?"
"You have a point, I never wanted to do business with that company in the first place but because you know her mother and ask me to I said, okay but this idea was of Mr Grandison mistress."
"This was not your idea?"
·Suddenly upset.·
"No however, when you ask me to take the deal I decided on the marriage for Woo Jin because he would take over soon! Oh! Wait a minute, I will be back."
"Where are you going?"

(Ki went down and joined them at the table for breakfast, Gu Wan stared at Ki as to why she's there with them before the wedding?! Knowing that Woo Jin has already run off and his parents is currently looking for him. Ki sat down and scan the room it's way bigger than her family owns but it doesn't feel welcome at least not from Mr and Mrs. Yoo, she continues to look about instead of eating and then realized that two seats are empty.)
"Is everything okay?"
Yes, but who are missing?
I points at both empty chair and she look at her husband before looking at the chairs, well it's seems not only did my future not husband has run away but someone else as well! Could it be the owner of the watch? Ki thoughts.
"I'm have finish my meal, I'm going upstair now!"
(Feiyan spoke and break the silence at the table, suddenly Gu Wan spoke.)
"Aunt, I'm finish I too will excuse myself."
He smirked at me and I realized he must have know the groom is long gone before Mr and Mrs Yoo, did haha but he doesn't know that I don't care and have plans for the wedding of my own. Hehehe let's see what they have to say!. Ki thoughts.
"Kian, my dear there is something we would like to explain to you!"
Okay, is everything alright? You don't seems happy to speak of whatever this matter is..?
"That's because I'm not dear, Woo Jin run away because he thought!.. Because he thought you're ugly rest assured we will find him!"

I know he's gone but I wanted to see how long before you would let me know that he's gone, as to why I act like didn't know and to be truthful I don't care.
"You don't?"
No, of course not! I don't because I have plans of my own, but since we're like this I might as let the true purpose of me accepting the wedding out.

This wedding was going be my mothers funeral service send off.

Because my father decided to abandon us both dead and alive! I changed my mind after see what kind of person you and Mr Yoo, is I didn't want to do it anymore but then I found out the groom is gone, and then I thought why cancel? My father is a bad person and if not for this my mother, would not be buried anytime soon so I hope you understand. I don't want you to cancel the wedding at least not to my father, I need him to pay for what he did. If you would like to say goodbye you may come as you please, but it won't be a beautiful goodbye for him as for my resting mother it will and my dad need to pay for what he did to her.
I got up from the table after I said what I wanted to say and walked towards the stairs, I stopped and turned around facing them. Ki thoughts.
I'm sorry, you were going be shocked and disappointed but now you don't have to! I'm looking forward on seeing you there Mrs. Yoo, I'm sure you would want to say goodbye to my mom I believe you're high school friends.
I said pointing at the photos above the the fire place, she nodded and look at me like she haven't seen me in a long time and it's unbelievable I'm right in front of her. I smiled and went upstairs for my bag, after getting my stuff I went back downstairs. Ki thoughts.
Oh, I think your son run off because someone told him I was ugly! You should thank that person considering what I was planning to do, however, I hope you can forgive me but I loved my mother very much there's nothing I wouldn't do for her! Dead or Alive.
I left after being polite in my goodbye and thank them for my stay, I went back to Mr. Park, though it seem a lot has happened in past three day and something didn't feel the same or maybe it was me who have have changed! Maybe, maybe not!•
"Ki, you're back!"
A warm slime took over his face and I nodded and smiled! Ki thoughts.
Where is Ye Jun?
"He went school! I was getting ready for you wedding!"

After I arrive at the hall where the wedding was supposedly supposed to take place; it was quite empty, but looked expensive, I wonder if now because I told them my plan they would go ahead and cancel the wedding? But then people started entering and talking about the wedding. A smile appeared on my face, I couldn't control myself because I feel too excited! I went to relaxed my mind hoping things go as planned, I can't wait to see the look on my father and his mistress face! It excites me. After Mr. Park, text me up on my fathers arrival I set the tape for the mirroring screen. I should definitely take up acting I'm amazed at myself um-um-um. I went out after every one was starting to asks questions. Ahem. I clear my throat so everyone would be aware of my presence they started whispering; That was expected to so it won't bother me or stop my mission no, I won't let that happen this is too good of a day for me, and my mom. Ki thoughts.
I'm sure everyone is asking why am I dress for a funeral instead of a wedding?
I looked out among others and saw Mr and Mrs Yoo, wearing black I smile as tears appeared in my eyes I nodded at them and they wave at me with a smile. a smile that would remind you of home but in my case 'Home' is a word I consider lost when I hear or think of it! Ki thoughts.
Today is mostly important to me than anything else, and I want to thank you for being here even if you might not know who I am or who my mom was. Today was supposed to be my wedding day happy ever after? No, actually it far from it.
I had a happy family, the kind of family I would consider as the perfect family. The family of three a loving and caring mother in every way possible she was perfect as a mother and as a friend.
My father on the other hand he was a good father I guess; he would always takes mom's side in everything, and to me they were too perfect to even have a small argument, weird to others but perfect to me I loved that and wish to keep it but... It seems faith had other plans or my father did!
Two weeks ago I came home from school and I was very happy; I had my mom and my dad, I had a good life, I had no friends, but I was okay with all that because I have my mom, a friend that I can never replace, I came home happily to see my mom crying.
Crying at her matrimonial bedroom door with both hands over her mouth. I have never see my mom cry unhappy tears but on that day she did and she did because her husband and my father, was in their marital home and bed with another woman!
I was so angry for losing my perfect home to a woman not far from my own age. My mother cover my eyes but I removed her hand out of anger, if I had know it would be her lost touch! I would have let her cover me in her arms and never let me go!
My father plead with me not to tell my mom, but he had no idea mom was already watching and already aware of the matter his mistress.
"There's no need to hide it anymore, honey, tell her, she will find the truth out sooner or later."
The truth of my father cheating on my mother for a very long time, my mom run away with embarrassment not only to lose her husband to a younger woman but to also have their own daughter to come home and caught her father cheating on her mother!
Mother fell from the stairs with no injuries, no broken bones, only a hit to the head and fell unconscious. She was send to the hospital and put into surgery then my father plan with the doctor to tell me, my mother is badly hurt and will not make through the month.
After two days from fainting I woke up into the hospital; where I found out my mother, who completely fine, had a second surgery and was put on life support, only to be taken off my father and his mistress all because.
"She would cost the family."
Afterwards I found a bag with my clothes in the hospital, she puts me out and my father who has taken every thing from my mother name and transfer to his did nothing!
I ran all the way home from the hospital where I was beaten and put out by mistress, when he arrived home she take her fall and exclaimed!
"She tried to kill our child."
And together with her my father, beats me to death before thrown me away left to died.
Mr. Park, there save my life and send me to the hospital! My father abandon me without even care to think I was alive or not, the hospital contacted him to inform him I'm at the hospital but instead of coming like a good father should he refused.
I couldn't pay my hospital fee I had to left the hospital and leave a note saying I would be back with the rest of the money, because I had left my savings for my mothers birthday gift along with the note on that day! Much later a rumour started at school!
A business marriage and I soon found out I was the bride to be, my father put me up as run away from home! Because he didn't want people or anyone to know what kind of father he is, and what he has done he pretended to be a good father but have his mistress continue to beats me.
(Ki stop to wipe her tears when she realised that the cops have arrived and stoping her father and his mistress from leaving, everyone seems to be forgiving Ki for turning her wedding into a funeral services with tears in their eyes they watch and listen to Ki and resented her father.)
While staying in that house after my father told me I was doing this to save my mothers, company and that everything would be okay but his mistress would try to kill me on every way she could possible!
I picked my handkerchief and wipe my neck of the make up showering the hand mark on my neck. Ki thoughts.
The first time night back into my mother house she tried to kill me, then the very next morning she push me from the window hoping I would fall and die she even try to kill me with needle while I was sleep.
(Ki started crying while the crowd started speaking on her behalf, she touched the crowd with her story a little lie with some truth never hurt, unless it's the person who is going down for it!)
"She's lying, it's not true!"
(Hyesun shouted from the crowd, it's a lie, she exclaimed with a husky voice.)
"I really misjudged her and Woo Jin, is going to kill me when he finds out she actually very beautiful without make-up what have I done?"
"How could she be so heartless? And her father just stood by and watch it happen! He is indeed not a good father, this is why I don't plan to remarry."
"I can't believe he beat his own daughter and didn't send to her to the hospital but leave her to die, he should be sent away for all his life and never see sunlight."
"I feel so sorry for her, poor girl she have been through a lot!"
After everything she did to me my father did nothing, instead he told her not to kill me for the sake of bettering the company so they treated me well for a day because the groom family was coming over for dinner.
After we had dinner and they leave I was slapped and poured water on for receiving love from the groom's family, she said I put something into there food so they would love me. But Mrs Yoo, came back and saw her mistreating me and stood up for me or else my father would have just let it be.
Yesterday, I was eating breakfast prepare by my father for me and I was talking to him ·Tears· I thought he love me again and was going make it better but he stood there and watch her put a Centipede on me even though he knew I was allergic.
He did nothing I was feeling itching and my father knows I'm allergic to it and he didn't took it off, instead her watch me scratch myself up the stairs when I realized what it was and tried to get it off he already bitten me.

I cried out for him and it was after I fell from the stairs he rush over to me, before I lost consciousness he ask Hyesun what have she done? He wanted me dead but also alive so he could make the marriage deal!
I don't blame the groom for running away after finding what kind of father I have, if I was him I would have done the exactly the same thing I would run and run far away.
I turned around and pulled off the curtain for the screening, and revealed a portrait of my mother in frame. Everyone started whispering I don't need their pity but for now let's keep a calm face! I took up the hospital file and both thumb dives with the dad and the doctors confessions, I walk into the crowd and handing him the evidence I glanced at my father and he didn't seems like he's disagreeing with what I have done. Instead he look like he has just realized how important something was to him and he lost it because of his greed, but I guess he too have plans of his own seeing as he's silence and he smiled at a me a little and I began wondering what is he up to? What ever you're up to! I can say I'm one step ahead of you way~~~ Ahead of you, you can't sell the house or the company until I gave you access which will be soon very soon father! Mother rest well for me, I miss you so much I could die. The video of my father and Hyesun confession pop up on the screening, just when the cops put the handcuffs on him and Hyesun, father let's see what you can do after this! If I did wrong mom, please forgive me because in your heart you still love him. I know it best because as he daughter I still feel daughterly love for him, I just don't want your death to go by like you die of natural causes when I know you didn't! Ki thoughts.
"Do you have any idea how long you will go away for?"
"I didn't she wake up suddenly_"
"So you tried to kill her? We have already killed her mother, when she was perfectly fine and put her out! When she returned here, we beat her to death and left her to die in the middle of the night!
We are lucky she's alive now, we can used her to save the company but here you are trying to kill her! Where is your senses woman? She is our only hope before we go broke, now find a way to remove that mark you make before people see it!"
"You and I just confess to what we did this is evidence, what if she tell the cops?"
"Evidence? Haha, you foolish woman who will believe her? I have report that she run away from home and Mr. Yoo, gave us three million dollars to do whatever it takes to fine her! They will think she's looking attention and made up these stories."
Everyone was shocked from the mirroring screen, I look at father this time and he look terrified! I told you didn't I? I'm way~~~ Ahead of you and now say bye-bye to the outside. He was arrested along with Hyesun, Mr & Mrs Yoo, walked over to me and hug me! Ki thoughts.

All the tears I was holding back came out without me trying, finally my mother got the send off she deserve and I'm going to start a life I deserve I just wishes you were here to see it mom! Mom, Farewell. Everyone who came paid there respect to my mom, and leave for the other side of the hall after all this was supposed to be a wedding and not a funeral services. Ki thoughts.
"Do you want to join everyone else at the tables?"
No, I fine.
"You didnt eat this morning, an-"
You don't have to worry about me Mrs Yoo, if I said I'm fine it's because I'm fine.
"What are you saying? Your mother was send off the way you wanted now, you have to eat not because we ask you to but because your mother needs you to!"
"He's right! Also you have to live for yourself and take care of yourself now, Why don't dont you move in with us?"
No, sorry but I have found a place I can call home for now and I would like to keep it!
(Ki looks over at Mr. Park, and they smile at each other! Their journey is about to begin while others are about to end.)
"That's okay with us dear, but if you need anything don't be afraid to call and ask us for help!"

They left me standing there waiting on Mr. Park, he was standing at the entrance of the hall! Ki thoughts.
"Aren't you going to join them?"
He walked over and asked. I look at the door and look back at him saying!
No, my mission for here has ended! It's time for me to get ready for my future they already have there's but where is Ye Jun?
"He should have been here, but it seem he had other plans!"
Hmm, let me collect mother portrait!
I went for the portrait and from the corner of my eyes, I notice someone watching me when I look at door I saw Gu Wan hiding! Ki thoughts.

After Mr. Park leaves, I turned facing where he's hiding! Ki thoughts.
You can stop hiding now, it's just me come out!

"I wanted to apologize for saying you were ugly!"

"I was the one who told Woo Jin, you were ugly so he run away"

Oh, really no I thought our conversation end at why? But why should I when you did me a favour, surely you didn't think I came this far just to get married did you?

I thought she was going to actually marry him and father was happy about it, she came in and say "Hey!" to me but I didn't even looked at her! She went to her room, after sometime I went to her room he had just finished putting changing her clothes! I entered and hug her but she push me back and kick me to my knees. His thoughts.

I widen my eyes at her and she smiled at me before leaning downwards and putting her hands on her knees, with her hair catch in ponytail with no make-up and her tiny hairs about her face. My heart beats fast with every second she was there looking down at me, I wonder what was she thinking looking at me like this then! His thoughts.

She played with my hair before leaving me kneeling down in her room, I got up and walk her bed where I see a portrait lay on her bed! It kinda looks like her! Is this her mom? No way, did she turned her wedding into a funeral service? His thoughts.

I put back the portrait and went downstairs, she was at the table with dad she looked up and smile showing her teeths this time. His thoughts.

I sat don't next to her and father send my food to me, he smiled at me and Ki then he continue eating! His thoughts.
How was you wedding? Why come back here after you got married?
They stopped eating and started looking at me! His thoughts.

"If you wanted to know, you should have went with me if you really want to know! Now, let's eat."
I'm curious but where is the cake?
She slam down her chopsticks and got up! His thoughts
"I lost my appetite!"

Father slap my forehead! His thoughts.

"She didn't get married!"

"Umm, now stop it you're upsetting her! Her father and his mistress were placed under arest for murdering her mother."

I look at the stairs, ah why? Why did I brought it up? Aish! His thoughts.

I just wanted to know what happen! Should I apologize? No! But I hurt her by remembering her what she wanted to forget! Such a fool I'm, aish! After dinner father went to the workshop, and I sneak out I arrive at the store but they were no chocolate without nuts! So I bought what they have and went back home and knocked on her door!
"Go away!"
I knocked again when I hear her coming I hung the bag on the door and run downstairs, she came out and look but saw no one she turned back to her room she saw the bag and picked it up. His thoughts.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to remind you! Ye Jun."
She smiled and enter her room, I smiled I went to my room and started drawing the way she leans downwards and smile at me. His

I got up and open the door but there was no one then, I heard the sounds coming from Ki's room I knocked the and when I got no answer I open the door when I stepped inside and she was on the floor. Her face was very red and so was her ears, I rushed over to her asking what wrong I noticed the swollen on her ear and lip! She was trying to speak but i couldn't hear her, I kneel down and listen carefully.)
"allergy… i can't breathe"
Allergy? What to?
She pointed at the chocolate! I looked at it then at her. His thoughts.
The chocolate?
I was confused about the fact that she allergic to something I have seen her eat! His thoughts.
Stop it!
I thought she was messing around until she showed me the paper, she was pointing at the nuts she allergic to the nuts! I got up immediately lifting her in my arms. His thoughts.
Father!!!
"Ah, why!!!?"
His eyes widen with surprise when he saw Ki in my arms.
"What? What happen?"
She's allergic to nuts!
"Where did she get it?"

I sat her to lay down in the back seat, and called out for father! I didn't know why was taking so long after a few seconds he came out and I run to him taking the keys, he went to the other side and enter the car I drove us to the hospital! I took her out of the car and we run into the hospital asking for help, they took her from us after we told them she had an allergic reaction from eating nuts! Soon a doctor came and told she fine now.)

"How about saving her the trouble of dying from allergies shall we? First it was a centipede now it's nuts she will die soon and from allergies."
The doctor leaves and we enter the room, she was laying down sleep like a baby! His thoughts.
"Why was she eating nuts? Ye Jun!"
Oh? The thing is, father! I wanted to apologize for causing her pain so I went out and buy chocolate but I didn't know she was allergic to nuts and she never told us, I saw her eating chocolate bars before I just didn't know if it had nuts or not!
"Well, now you know."
Hmm, but she allergic to centipede?
"Hmm!"
(After Ki was discharged. They went home in silence Ki went to her room without saying a word.)
