Chapter 133: Guardians
"A war? And the game will be postponed?" The Beasts asked and looked confused.
"Yes, a war is coming our way and we need to be prepared for it, that's why the game will be postponed," Kuma answered.
"The government has declared war on us and attacked us three times since," Kuma said while a bright ray of light suddenly shot out from the back of Kuma's chair. The ray of light stopped in the middle of the room and turned into a large holographic screen, which showed three pictures towards the Beasts.
"The first attack was on one of our offices, which was located in downtown Graxy. It was burned and blown up by some sort of monster which the government sent." Kuma explained while one of the pictures suddenly enlarged and a couple of dozens of pictures flew out from its back, showing a couple of pictures of the ruins of the office and a couple of evidence.
"Chester found a letter under the debris of the office that the government left, and inside of it, they have declared that if I didn't give them my seat as the King. They will keep attacking more of the Kingdom's properties," Kuma said while two of the pictures enlarged and showed the piece of meat which Chester found, and the letter which has the government logo on its wax stamp.
"The second attack was on another one of our offices that was located in the middle of Il'luex city. Luckily a couple of King's guardians were able to stop the attack but we were unable to capture the monster that they sent because it decomposed itself." Kuma explained while the pictures that were shown suddenly disappeared and one of the last two pictures suddenly enlarged. A couple of dozens of pictures suddenly appeared and showed many pictures that were procured from the security cameras, which displayed a couple of King's guardians and the red monster that the government sent.
"And the last attack was a couple of days ago," Kuma said while all of the pictures disappeared and the last pictures enlarged while dozens of pictures appeared from its back. Showing the flattened tower A and many pictures of the dozens of monsters.
"That very large flat land used to be a very tall mountain which we made as one of our many watchtowers. The government somehow managed to find our watchtower and sent dozens of monsters to it." Kuma explained while the pictures of the monsters suddenly enlarged while the Beasts looked towards each of them.
"Now, like I said we are in the middle of an incoming war. But, there aren't only two parties in this war. This is the third party that has made a couple of steps." Kuma pointed towards the screen as all of the pictures disappeared and a large picture of the Bangarang logo suddenly appeared.
"Bangarang," Adam said.
"That's right. Bangarang has two goals in their mind that they have been chasing for a very long time. The first one is to end humanity and the second one is my head." Kuma explained and pointed towards his head.
"Bangarang has also attacked us three times and specifically you." Kuma smiled and pointed towards Adam.
"The first attack is on the second game, they forced a team called Hyenas to attack all of you. The second attack is on the fourth game, Untreatable possessed a contestant and attacked all of you. And lastly the third attack on the fifth game, they gave The Rat Pack syringes which turned them into gigantic rat monsters." Kuma explained while dozens of pictures that have been taken from the game showed up on the screen and slowly rotate between themselves.
"We will give the five of you a choice now since the game has been postponed." Kuma looked towards the Beasts while the screen suddenly disappeared and the five of them looked towards him.
"First, we would like the five of you to join our side in the war. We are lacking a large amount of manpower and the five of you have a lot of potentials. Second, the five of you can stay here until the game resumes. We will protect all of you to the best of our abilities but of course, the five of you will be at a big disadvantage when the game resumed." Kuma listed while holding two of his fingers beside his head.
"Why would we be in a big advantage?" Roo asked.
"There must be some sort of prize for those who join their side, it wouldn't make any sense for anyone to give their lives for free. That's why we would get a big disadvantage when the game resumes for staying here." Adam surmised.
"Lion is right, there are a couple of "prizes" if you want to call it that, which you will be receiving until the war is over. First, Micheal Angelo will upgrade your weapons and body for free anytime you want them. Second, each of you will be trained by one of the King's Guardians and they will help you become stronger and prepare you for the coming war." Kuma said.
"Now what will the five of you choose?" Kuma asked while looking towards the Beasts.
"Can we have some time to discuss this between us outside?" Adam asked while looking towards Kuma who instantly nodded.
"Yes, you can." Kuma smiled and walked back towards his chair while the Beasts walked out from the room.
BAAM! The Beasts walked a couple of meters from the large wooden door and stands in the middle of the hallway while looking towards each other. The five of them stands silently for a couple of seconds and Crow quickly looked towards everyone "That was a lot of information."
"Yes, I agree with you and a war is coming as well." Bull looked towards Crow.
"I have made up my decision. I will be participating in the war." Adam said while looking towards his teammates.
"Why? It's a war, it's very dangerous." Roo showed concern.
"We would die anyway if we don't participate in the war Roo. If they won the war and the game resumed, we will one hundred percent die fighting against the contestants who participated in the war." Bunny argued.
"Oh, yeah. You're right." Roo smiled while he scratched his head.
"I'm going to follow Lion and join the war." Bull suddenly said and smiled towards Adam who smiled back.
"I'm going as well." Bunny raised her hand and placed it on Bull's shoulder while smiling towards Adam.
"I will follow you guys." Crow smiled.
"I'll join too, it will be very boring if I stay here." Roo smiled while his teammates smiled towards him.
"Thank you, everyone. Let go back inside." Adam smiled and his teammates instantly nodded.
The five of them walked towards the large wooden door and quickly entered it while Kuma and all of the King's Guardians looked towards them.
"Welcome back." Kuma smiled and stands up from his chair while looking towards the Beasts who stand back in their places.
"Have the five of you reached your decisions? Or do you need some more time?" Kuma asked.
"We have decided, and we decided to join your side in the war," Adam said while looking towards Kuma who suddenly smiled widely.
"Amazing! The King's Guardians have watched all of your games and now they will be choosing who they want to train. Good luck." Kuma smiled. He looked towards the King's Guardians and instantly looked towards the Beasts.
"Let's start with you, Crow." Kuma smiled and pointed towards Crow.
"I will train her." A woman who was wearing a black leather jacket, a white shirt underneath it that has a drawing of a colorful dragon, and an owl mask that has a couple of horns stand up and smiled towards Crow.
"Ace has chosen Crow. Next, Bull." Kuma pointed towards Bull.
"I will train him." Turme stands up and smiled at Bull.
"Turme has chosen Bull. Next, Roo." Kuma pointed towards Roo.
"I will train him." Ox stands up and looked towards Roo.
"Ox has chosen Roo! What a rare moment. Next, Bunny." Kuma pointed towards Bunny.
"I will train her." Ruse stands up and smiled at Bunny.
"Ruse has chosen Bunny. Lastly, Lion." Kuma smiled while pointing towards Adam.
"I will train him." Amph stands up and looked towards Adam.
"Amph has chosen Lion. Amazing! Please pack all of your important belongings because all of you will be taken to a different place for your training, at the end of the week. That's the end of this meeting thank you Beasts, see ya." Kuma smiled and waved towards the Beasts.
The Beasts slightly bowed towards Kuma and the King's Guardians and walked out from the room. They walked through the long hallway and saw that the large wooden door that was at the end of the hallway was opened wide.
They arrived at the train station and quickly walked towards the platform as the train that took them was parked with its doors opened wide. The Beasts entered the train car and sat beside each other near train car doors which slowly closed on their own.
TOOOOOOOOOOT! "I guess we're a soldier now." Roo slouched on his chair while the train moved backward.
"Yeah, and don't forget to pack your important belongings," Bunny said while looking towards everyone who instantly nodded.
Adam looked towards his watch and noticed that it was almost lunchtime "Let's eat at the River of Taste when we're back."
"Oh! Yeah!" Roo smiled widely.
