"So the kid gonna make it?"

"Not sure. The initial checkup diagnosed him in a near-death state. Suddenly, he began healing, and now, he's healthier than ever. What we are waiting for is for him to wake up from his coma."

"...the kid's mysterious."

"Indeed. Perhaps it's the strange glowing sword next to him."

"What you gonna do about it? People got secrets."

"True, but I am interested in his healing factor."

The larger man stood in front of the man, a frown etched on his face. "You ain't touching the kid, Doc."

He chuckled. "Of course I won't. I'll just ask him when he wakes up."

"Hmph."

"Calm down you big goof. I like experimenting, but I haven't crossed to the dark side. Morals still dictate my actions."

Relaxing a little bit, he said, "Aight."

Lux shifted in his bed, signaling the two men that their guest was waking up.

"Tora. Get some water and some light food. Snacks if possible." He nodded before leaving the room.

"Where...?"

"You're at my house young man. My friend pulled you out of the ocean."

"Thanks."

"No problem." Tora soon came in and brought the stuff requested by Doc. "I have some food and water for you. Would you like to eat?"

"Yes, please," Lux replied, his voice coarse.

"Okay. Let's slowly sit you up."

With the help of Doc and Tora, Lux finally had food in his stomach. Though he felt oddly full as if already ate. Deciding to question it later, he gazed at his saviors. One was a big muscular man with animal ears and tons of facial hair and the other was a seemingly frail man with glasses and pale skin.

"Thank you for providing care for me. I am extremely grateful."

Doc giggled at the formal tone. "No need to be so uptight. You're young. And you're welcome."

"Where you from kid? Don't tell me that you wanted to swim with fishes?" asked Tora.

"Uh, no. I was on the back of a giant Nevermore and to remove me from its back, it went into the water. After that, everything went dark and I woke up to see the wooden ceiling."

"Hoh?" Doc fixed his glasses. "This brave at this age?"

Lux denied it. "That was an accident. I didn't mean to get on his back."

"You can accidentally ride on a Nevermore?" Tora was excited by the idea. "Boy. You gotta teach me your ways."

"The best I can tell you is that you should try doing something and expect it to work. Trust me. It won't work." He shrugged. "Not for me anyway."

"Wow." Doc smiled. "You must be extremely unlucky. I'm rather nervous about having here."

"I understand. I'll leave." Jumping from the bed, Doc grabbed his arm with an awkward smile. "What?"

"I was joking."

"Oh..."

The large Faunus broke into uproarious laughter.

(First Person POV)

For the next few days, I adapted to my surroundings and became a temporary freeloader. A map was given to me and I learned of my location. On the continent of Anima, I was at the very southwest edge of it. To be specific, I was in the opposite direction of the Kingdom of Mistral and if I got a ship or Airship for traveling, I could directly go to Sanus and then up for the Kingdom of Vale.

Sure I knew where I was now, but that wasn't the most important part of my stay here. According to Tora's story, Doc was tired of Grimm, Humanity, and Faunus so he created a village where he can live peacefully by himself by massacring the Grimm that resided here. It was obvious that he was stupid strong. There was no way one can simply be somewhere in Remnant.

His ingenious mind assisted him in inventing advanced robots that are self-sufficient and guards the village. Truly, he got what he wanted and for a few months, everything went according to plan. Then came the first rescue which was Tora and this started a snowball effect.

Nearly the entire population of the Hidden Leaf Village was saved by Tora and Doc. If they ever want to leave, they either had to sworn to secrecy by Tora's semblance or have their memories wiped. Initially, Doc wanted to be himself, but being the leader of a village where everyone can get along was a surprisingly nice result. This became one of the only places in the world where all races can get along without being at each other's throats.

On the other hand, I gained knowledge of the powers in this world. Aura is the manifestation of the soul, and a Semblance is the projection of Aura into a more tangible form. Sometimes a Semblance is hereditary, but most of the time, it's different for everyone.

Doc had one of the best Semblances in the world in my opinion and it was Dust Exchange. By using one of the rules of Alchemy, equivalent exchange, he can produce dust of any kind that already exists or a unique variety that depends on his imagination. Frequently, Doc exchanges trees and anything that can be mass-produced like farm animals.

He does this by retrieving continuous self-growth dust and forever alive dust on the trees while reproduction and super health dust are applied to the animals. Using his Semblance, he developed an automatic system for this thriving village and I was slightly jealous of his ability.

However, even Doc acknowledged that he was mortal and he can live as long as any other human. By the look in his eyes, I knew that he had a plan or a secret project to replace himself. Doc is the center of the village and without him, it doesn't work. That's why I theorized that he can either transfer his Semblance or give it to a robot that will continuously do his work. Either way, I found a place that I can call home.
