Chapter 56: Qi Gathering Pills on Auction
After dismissing the attendant, Long Chen took out his storage bag and started to count the crystals inside.
They totaled up to be 120 Crystals, after he had taken some from the warehouse within the Fierce Tiger Gang.
While waiting for the auction to begin, Long Chen held some crystals within his hands and started to cultivate.
As the pure mass of energy from the Crystals entered his body, a series of notifications also rang out.

A while later, the lights around the auction hall dimmed down, with a large ray of light shining onto the centre of the hall, where a fiery lady was making her way to everyone's sights.
Her seductive body was accentuated by the black dress she was wearing, where portion of her snow-while legs were showing as she walked.
A few of the audience were unable to handle this scale of alluringness as blood started to unrestrainedly flow from their noses, while most simply feasted their eyes upon her.
The woman within the crowd, of course, merely scoffed at this, with their faces full of displeasure.
"I would like to thank everyone for attending out auction today! As you all would know, we have some special items which would be put on auction later! So please sit tight, and peel your eyes open for what is to come later in the auction!" The auctioneer said in a melodious voice.
"First item on the list, is the 7 Petal Flower! This is found from within the depths of the Falling Leaves Forest, and is one of the main ingredients to refine a 7 Coloured Pill! This item will start at the price of 5000 gold!" The auctioneer loudly announced.
Not all items priced here are auctioned for crystals, because some were not even worth it.
1 Low-Tier Crystal was equivalent to 10000 gold. Most normal people would use gold as a currency to buy and sell things.
Crystals were after all, quite a rarity. Not everyone could come from huge family backgrounds, nor could they be an Alchemist like Long Chen who rolls in the Crystals into his pockets every time he refines a pill.
"5000 gold!"
"6000 gold!"
….
"7000 gold!"
In the end, that herb was sold for 8000 gold, and the next few items were put on display.
There was nothing much that caught Long Chen's interest, with most of the items being low quality pills or low quality herbs.
The youths from the 4 Great Families also kept silent, because those items were not even worth their time.
An hour passed, and Long Chen was quietly cultivating, with both his eyes shut. It was only when the auctioneer started to announced the auction of the 8 Mid-Tier Pills did he open his eyes.
"And now that we are nearing the end of the auction, it is time for the pills that all of you have come and waited for to appear!"
8 small pill box holders that were glittering with crystals inlaid around them appeared in front of everyone's sights.
"Within this 8 boxes are the 8 Mid-Tier Pills that will be put on auctioned today! All these pills were made by an old Alchemist who does not want to be named! Some of you here may be doubting the validity of these pills. I won't comment on this, but will simply show you the truth!"
With that, the auctioneer abruptly flipped upon the 8 boxes, and a pill scent slowly wafted out of the boxes.
It did not take long for the audience to realize that the air was suffusing with an pleasant smell that emanated from the pills within the boxes.
"Pill scent! I can't believe it! In my life, I can actually get to experience a pill scent!"
"The only way a pill scent can occur is if the pill is Mid-Tier quality of higher! So those pills are definitely the real goods!"
There was a hole within the windows of his room, which was meant to allow him to show and shout out his bid.
As the pill scent drifted through the hole and entered Long Chen's nose, he abruptly narrowed his eyes as he realized how far the pill scent could reach.
He had to ensure that the next time he was refining pills, he had to cover them up as soon as possible so that the pill scent does not emanate out of his courtyard.
"It is truly a Mid-Tier Qi Gathering Pill." Both Murong Jing and Xiao Ran who were situated in their room softly mumbled to themselves.
"These pills would be sold in batches of 2 so as to allow all of you here to have a greater chance to bid and acquire them!"
After hearing the auctioneer's words, the four genius youths looked at each other, before they retracted their gazes.
"The first batch of pills will be starting at a price of 10 Crystals!"
"15 Crystals!" Xiao Ran shouted.
"17 Crystals!" Chen Yu Tian followed through.
The rest of the audience were silent because they knew that those pills were only meant for them to see and not touch.
How could they compare with the 4 Great Families?
"19 Crystals!" Xiao Ran threw a sharp glance at Chen Yu Tian.
"20 Crystals!" Chen Yu Tian responded with a bid.
"21 Crystals!" Xiao Ran did not back down.
The standard price for a Mid-Tier Qi Gathering pill would be around 10 Crystals, and with two the price would become 20 Crystals.
Chen Yu Tian kept silent after this bid, and Xiao Ran managed to win over the first batch of the two pills.
During the next bid for the next batch of pills, Murong Jing was the one who won the bid with 22 Crystals, and the price was similarly raised because of the interference of Chen Yu Tian.
"The third batch of pill!" The auctioneer announced, and Chen Yu Tian immediately started the bid with 20 Crystals.
Xiao Ran was about to speak, when an unfamiliar voice resounded throughout the hall, "22 Crystals!"
The audience was stunned for a moment by this bid. There was somebody who actually dared to go against one of the four Great Families?
"Fellow cultivator, what you are bidding for right now is the Qi Gathering Pill which I have an interest in. Are you sure that you want to bid for it?" Chen Yu Tian turned his head towards the Gold suite where the voice originate from as he lightly smiled.
"Fellow cultivator? What do your words mean? Is that a threat that you are directing to me right now?" The voice sounded out again with a faint bit of ridicule
This voice was obviously from Long Chen.
He was here for some entertainment, and deliberately raising the price of the pills sounded like a great idea to him.
The auctioneer glanced towards the Gold suite, and she remembered that one of her higher-ups had instructed for her to treat the man within there with the utmost respect.
"Please do take note that within our Misty Auction Hall, no form of threatening is allowed." The auctioneer spoke out in a clear voice. If it was anyone else, she would directly turn a blind eye. But since it was someone her higher-ups told her to take good care of, she couldn't act as such
It was evident that the auctioneer" words were meant to protect the person within the Gold suite, and the audience could not help but wonder who had so much authority for the Trading Chamber Commerce to step forward and protect him.
Chen Yu Tian was not one to be so easily angered, as he simply laughed off this matter, "I'm sorry, fellow cultivator. It's just that 20 Crystals is rather expensive, and not anybody can afford this. I am just checking up with you to see if you truly have the assets to pay for this. Since it looks like you really do, I shall place another bid. 23 Crystals!"
Long Chen looked towards the room where the voice originated from. The VIP rooms were all tinted black, and could only be seen one way.
He was unable to see Chen Yu Tian's face, nor was Chen Yu Tian able to see his.
"25 Crystals." Long Chen responded in a low hoarse voice.
He knew that the direct members of the Great Family were all remarkably rich, and adding one or two crystals wasn't that much off a big deal.
"27 Crystals!" Chen Yu Tian called out. He was not stupid, and could see that the person was purposely going against him. If Long Chen had really raised the price again, he would just go for the last batch of pills instead.
The hall went silent after his bid, and after the auctioneer called three times, those pills were sold to Chen Yu Tian.
Then, Yang Zun took the last batch with a price of 21 Crystals.
The four of them naturally had an agreement with each other, with the only unfortunate one being Chen Yu Tian who was targeted and had to pay a few more crystals.
The Qi Gathering Pills naturally did not help him at all, and he was buying this only for his younger brother.
Long Chen was felt deep satisfaction to his bones when he saw the pills he was auctioning out to be bought at such high prices.
Then, it was time for the last item on the auction.
Another pill box was revealed in every one's eyes, with the only difference being that the box looked more magnificent.
"All of you may be wondering what the last special item is." With a dramatic flair, the auctioneer pulled up the lid of the box, "We have a High-Tier quality Qi Refining Pill!"
Her words were like a bomb that landed on the audience, and even the four geniuses were shocked.
The denser pill scent that emanated out from the pill was a confirmation of its tier alone.
High-Tier quality were considered an absolute rarity within the city, and although there were quite a few Alchemists, not many could even be able to refine a single High-Tier pill in their entire lives.
The difference between Mid-Tier and High-Tier was huge, with a High-Tier pill having a few times the medicinal efficiency compared to a Mid-Tier Pill.
The four geniuses only had one thought in their minds, which was they had to acquire this pill.
The auctioneer was quite satisfied with the audiences' responses, but her gaze mainly landed on the VIP rooms where the four geniuses lay, because only they were the true buyers.
"This High-Tier pill will began with a starting price of 70 Crystals!" On the auction stage, the auctioneer spoke with gusto, her words ringing into the minds of everyone present.
70 Crystals! What sort of concept is this?
Not before long, a few voice began shouting.
"70 Crystals!"
"80 Crystals!"
"90 Crystals!"
….
The bid went on relentlessly within the four geniuses, and within a minute, the number had already long broken through to 100 Crystals.
Long Chen was smiling ear to ear as he heard the continuous raising bids, as his eyes were lowered onto the 4 High-Tier pills within his storage bag.
Hehe, it was time for him to become rich!
In the end, the last bid was won by Xiao Ran for an astounding price of 140 Crystals! Long Chen was unable to control his fingers from trembling as he heard this sum.
One pill alone was worth more than all the Crystals he had within his storage bag right now.
