Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3 _ The Attack
"Bring him here", Mr Hunter said and his men walked to their car and brought someone with them.
I tilted my head a little to see who it was. He was a really handsome man with oval shaped fully black eyes. He had an earthly sent swirling around him. He had a manly chiseled angular face with side curled hair. He was by far the most handsome man I had seen. I saw sadness and fear in his eyes but still his eyes shined bright . There was something about him that made me instantly feel for him.
Just then I heard a gunshot. I quickly hid behind a pillar and took out my gun. I started firing and just then I saw the guy lying in the middle. He was shot in his arm. I ran instinctively without thinking of the firing. I dragged the guy to a corner.
Mr. Hunter and his people were aiming at the unknown person. 3 of his people were dead and 1 injured. I still did not see the person's face.
Rage took over me and I ran out and shot the unknown person who was hiding on the upper floor. Unfortunately the bullet just touched him and he ran away.
Mr Hunter and his men ran back to their car and drove off. I ran back to the guy and asked him if he could get up and walk to the car. I could see he was in great pain. He nodded and we walked to the car. I drove him to Lakeside Memorial Hospital. I don't know why but for the first time in a while I felt scared. FEAR. I don't remember feeling this way after my parent's death. And that is what scared me the most. Maybe because I did not want to loose the clue to my parent's case.
I called Ava ,Dimitri and 4 more men to the hospital. Dimitri was really scared. He looked really tensed. I signed all papers for the hospital and then went to Dimitri.
"What is wrong uncle !? You look tensed " I asked.
"Nothing, it's just that if we loose this guy we might as well loose the only lead in your parent's case. " he said akwardly.
I did not completely believe what he said. His tone was a little anxious. There was definitely something he was hiding .I wanted to know what.
Then I went to Ava.
"Hey , what did the doctor say ?" I asked Ava . She had been waiting outside the operation theatre.
" Nothing yet ! The doctors won't come out ! The operation is still going on"
" Alright listen, I have some important work to do. I need to go now but call me when there is any news . " I said. I wanted to go to the citymall basement again to check for evidences.
" You are going to the citymall basement , aren't you !? " Ava asked with a smirk.
" Yeah well I have to check for evidences. "
"Send someone , I am not letting you go there alone again !! "
" Hey !! I promised I would return one-piece and I did. "
" Ok then, I will accompany you there. "
" Alright , let's go ! "

We left leaving two guards in front of the operation theatre. On our way we told Dimitri to call us if the doctors have any updates on the guy.

[Citymall Basement]
On reaching the basement we took out our guns. First we had to check if there was anyone left. Of course no one was there but one can never be sure right?
I headed to the place where the unknown person was firing from and searched around a little . There was blood. I took a sample of it.
Then we started looking around searching for clues.
"What makes you think it was not the Night Hunters !?" Ava asked
" What makes you think I think so !?"
" Well they would sure as hell would not risk attacking you , they know that the consequences won't be in their favour. "
" Yeah look that's where you are wrong. " I said .
" What do you mean !? "
" The attack was not meant for me. It was meant to kill the guy. The shooter was a really trained one and the first shot he aimed was at the guy. "
" Ooh ! "
" But it is not the Night Hunters. Why would they introduce me to a guy and try to kill him off right in front of me !? "
" Elena ! What's that !? "
There were a lot of cement sacks lying on the ground and between them I saw something.
Ava picked it up.
"It's a watch " I said.
"It looks familiar don't you think " Ava said.
As soon as I saw it I recognised it. I was shocked and for some reason feeling betrayed.
"I know who this belongs to " I said surprisingly .
" Who !?" Ava asked.
" Matt !! Dimitri's right hand man !!!"
