Chapter 7: A shift

Eun-ha and Ji-hoon sat quietly at a table coordinating a schedule, and discussing their artists busy plans. Somehow, Yoongi managed to avoid the conversation of personal address, and jumped into his ideas for her album. Ever the professional, Aera didn't question him. She listened intensely to his suggestions, and shared some of her own. Both managers let out a breath of air.

"Miss Cho?" Ji-hoon had stood and suggested that they sit at another table that was not too far from the artists. He didn't have to voice it, but he did not want to leave Aera alone with Yoongi. Not because he didn't trust the man, but because her feelings were too obvious.

Eun-ha agreed and joined him at the table. Yoongi kept his eyes on the managers as they went to the other side of the room. He felt at ease knowing they would be in the same room. The last thing he needed was some young woman, with a crush on him, making thing awkward.

"I apologize for Aera's forward behavior," Ji-hoon whispered having caught Eun-ha's worried glances at the two singers.

She shook her head, and waved her hand to dismiss the apology. "It's ok. He has fans that love him for his talent. I'm sure she's just awe struck."

"She pleaded with me to reach out to Big Hit when word spread that he would be open to producing," Ji-hoon laughingly recalled, "She doesn't deny being an ARMY, nor that she has a soft spot for Suga. I know he is the perfect producer for her album, but I worry that she'll mistake this infatuation for more than it is. Especially when it's one sided."

Eun-ha pursed her lips, thinking about the beauty, Lovee, having strong feelings for the aloof Yoongi. She knew that he did not harbor any sort of feelings for the young woman, but something tugged at her. 'What is wrong with me?' She placed her hand to her forehead to ward off the odd feeling.

"I wouldn't worry, Ji-hoon. He may come off as cold, but he would never intentionally hurt her feelings. I'm sure he will let her down gently if she mistakes this crush for love."

Ji-hoon smiled at her confidence in Yoongi. They continued their work for another thirty five minutes, when Yoongi called them over.

"I think we have a concept. I'll continue to add to what we discussed. Manager Ji-hoon, everything that I write, or compose will be sent to you to share with Miss Song. Eun-ha will set up a studio for recording after the wedding," Yoongi and the others agreed on the given plan.

"Wedding?" Aera questioned, "Are you talking about Jin's?"

"Yes," he responded with a short reply.

"I still can't believe he's getting married. I wish I could attend," Aera cutely pouted.

Eun-ha smiled patiently at the other woman, while Yoongi peeked at his watch, giving very little attention to Aera's whine. Ji-hoon cringed at her childish attempt at an invitation.

"You're not the only one. I'm sure ARMY all over are wishing they could attend," Eun-ha politely responded, "The ceremony will be very small, and intimate."

"Only close friends, and family," Yoongi inserted. His statement left no room for argument. Sensing his impatience, Eun-ha gathered her bag, and tablet.

"Well, we need to head back. He has a photoshoot, and interview later."

After a brief farewell, they departed. Yoongi and Eun-ha sat in the back of the car, but didn't speak. Neither knew how to start the conversation. The situation regarding the young idol created an awkward atmosphere. Eun-ha had not dealt with this sort of scenario with any of her clients, and did not know what to say. She knew that they were loved, and fans often declare their affection for them, but she never had another celebrity come on strong to one of her idols.

"I thought I was free for the rest of the evening," Yoongi finally broke the tension. He faced her in the small car, their knees slightly touching.

"You are," she assured him. He cocked his head in confusion. "I only said that to make a fast exit."

He laughed at her wit, and quick thinking. "To avoid any gossip, I think it'd be best to make sure to schedule recording, or studio time during the day, and have your assistant stay with us. I really don't need to have media creating stories."

"We have an intern that I can have stay with you when I, or Ji-hoon are needed elsewhere."

"Fine," he nodded in agreement, "Wake me up when we get to the studio."

He closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and leaned back. She didn't attempt to move him. She opened her tablet and began to plan for the upcoming collaboration.

***Two days later/Wedding Rehearsal***

"Awesome job, everyone! Just remember to check your fittings to make sure that there aren't any alterations needed," the wedding planned announced. They had rehearsed for the past two hours, and everyone was exhausted. The group slowly began to disperse, leaving only the internal friends.

Jungkook, and Yoongi had arrived together after meeting up at the studio. Eun-ha had taken the day off to assist Seo-yeon, leaving her assistant in charge of taking messages. All managed to arrive on time, and with a few moments of goofing around, they completed the rehearsal. They set to hang out at Jin and Seo's place. Sitting around the living room, they drank and munched on snacks.

"So Yoongi, how did it go meeting Lovee?" Jungkook asked. He had heard through other staff that they had met, but he had been so busy with his own projects that he wasn't able to question his friend.

"It was fine. She has some decent ideas, and is willing to listen to critique," Yoongi spoke in a serious, professional tone. Eun-ha bit her lip to keep from laughing, knowing what really happened. As if sensing her impulse to laugh, he glanced at her in warning.

Seo-yeon and Jin caught the exchange, but choose to ignore it. They did not want to interrupt the friendly vibe. They were relieved over the past week's progress with the two friends. They were able to work without any disagreements. It seemed like the pair were capable of working productively together.

Jungkook, who had also witnessed the exchange, went another route. He was happy to see them getting alone, but he also hated not knowing.

"Hyung, why are you glaring at noona like that?" He asked as he ate his chips.

"I'm not glaring," Yoongi denied his accusation while taking a drink of his beer.

Eun-ha smiled at Jungkook, taking a sip from her beer as well. She pretended not notice the maknae's pleading stare.

"When do you begin recording with her?" Jin asked.

"After the wedding is complete," Yoongi said.

"She seems like a sweet girl," Seo-yeon stated, "I haven't worked with her, but Yo-han has and he said that she was kind to everyone. I wasn't sure if it were true, or if he just had a crush on her. But others who assisted him also agreed with him."

"What do you think, noona?" Jungkook strategically managed to have Eun-ha's input.

"I didn't really speak with her. But she was polite."

"How could you not really have a conversation with her?" Jungkook asked skeptically. Seo and Jin also looked baffled.

Eun-ha cautiously peeked at Yoongi, who was acting as if he were not a part of the conversation, before speaking.

"She was a little star struck to pay me any attention," she giggled between a drink on her beer.

Yoongi frowned at her, and shook his head at his friends, who all ooohed and awwed. He did not like having to work with someone that made it embarrassingly obvious that she liked him. He would have asked to be taken off the project, but word had already spread to the media of a potential collaboration. The last thing he needed was to be put in the limelight as the artist that turned down Korea's "angel."

"It's not like that," he waved his hands in denial, "Eun-ha's being dramatic."

"I am not," Eun-ha, tipsy by now, "Aera, as she wishes Yoongi to address her, batted her eyes the entire time we were there. I thought she was suffering from some sort of neurological disorder with all that eye twitching."

Jungkook and Jin burst out laughing at the image of the popular idol with severe eye twitching. Seo-yeon hid her smile behind her hand, knowing that Yoongi was not happy with this exaggeration. Sure enough, his glare deepened at his manager.

"How were you even able to spot this supposed eye twitch when you were busy flirting with her manager?" He smirked at her confused face. The others stared in shock at the turn of events.

"What?" Seo-yeon asked, "Eun-ha, what is he talking about?"

"I was not flirting," she said, not taking her eyes off Yoongi, "I was doing my job, and aligning our schedules."

"You two were very chummy alone in a corner, and he was full of praise for Miss Cho," Yoongi huffed.

"We were not alone in any corner, and you should feel so lucky to have a manager highly acclaimed!" she batted her eyes at him, which caused the others to laugh again.

Yoongi laughingly rolled his eyes at her own praise. Finding it pointless to argue with an already alcohol induced Eun-ha, he switched the topic. The others obliged and the night carried was full of laughter. It was close to midnight, when they called an end to the gathering.

"Kook and Eun-ha," Yoongi called to the pair who had been putting on their shoes, "I'll give you guys a ride home."

"Manager Sejin is actually going to pick me up," Jungkook said, "I have a recording session and wanted to crash at the company tonight. He'll be here shortly."

Eun-ha clumsily put on her coat with the assistance of Seo-yeon. She normally avoids drinking, but the night was calm and she felt comfortable drinking with her friends. She was feeling content with they way things had been going at work, and used this opportunity to let loose.

"Yoongi, if it's too much trouble, we can let her crash here," Seo-yeon suggested.

"I don't mind taking her home," Yoongi surprised them all with how unaffected he felt having to be around Eun-ha. Typically he would have created a fuss, or complained that she was annoying. Ignoring their questioning stares, he nudged her with his elbow.

"Let's go," he stated while walking out. She waved childlike to the others, and obediently followed Yoongi.

Jin scratched his head in wonder, and laughed at Seo-yeon's incredulous expression at the events that just took place. Jungkook grinned at the shift in the pairs relationship. Once completely hostile, now they were capable of engaging in friendly teasing. The small bickering did not become so aggressive, and had ended as fast as it had started.

"I guess working so close together has softened their views of one another," Seo whispered in awe.

"Yoongi probably respects her as a professional," Jin surmised.

"Whatever it is, it's going to take some getting used to," Jungkook cut in, "When Tae and Jimin come for the wedding, they'll be excited."

"Excited over what?" Jin curiously asked.

"They always thought that Yoongi and Eun-ha would be 'cute' together."

"They hate each other. Where would those two get that idea from?"

"Jimin thinks Yoongi needs a girl that isn't afraid to call him out on his bs. They 'ship' them, and said to let them know the progress while they're gone," Jungkook laughed at his hyungs reactions when they hear about the assignment given to Eun-ha, and how over a span of two weeks, the two seemed to be getting along. The hostility in Yoongi's eyes was no longer there, instead replaced with acceptance. The three could feel the change, and were relieved that some sort of friendship had formed.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Sauce8 Sauce8

So sorry readers. This took me a while. I wrote this chapter off and on. I will try to get better about time management. I hope you enjoy that the two main leads are not bickering as much. I can't wait for the two to start interacting as friends. I have high hopes for these characters.
