Chapter 3: What could go wrong?
"Distance to the target is 800 hundred meters." Said a camouflaged man laying down on the ground looking through something that looked like a sort of telescope. The ground right next to him ruffled a bit, that was because next to him laid a sniper ready to fire at any moment's notice who had nodded to this statement in acknowledgement. The target they were looking at was of course our little monster who now has become fully alert seemingly looking around himself.
The man who was just speaking suddenly froze in his place, his eyes just met with this unknown creature never seen before. In those eyes that belonged to this creature he could see coldness yet there was something hidden that was much scarier than just coldness, it was intelligence.
The soldier grabbed his radio to report what had just happened. "Sir, I think we have been spotted. What should we do?" When he was done talking to the person on the other side the radio was silent for a good few seconds before it started making noise signalling that a response came in.
"Stay put, as of yet we currently have an unknown situation at hand be sure to be safe out there soldier. Be ready to be able to leave at any moment's notice." A voice came through the radio, although because of the radio the sound was a bit damped you could still hear that the owner behind that voice was old and had many experiences behind his back, but even this person didn't know what was happening.
"Roger." The camouflaged man said and put his radia back where he grabbed it from. Whilst this was all happening the man never left his sight from where the creature was located. The man broke sight and looked to his right of him meeting with the eyes of the sniper. Surprisingly, not to the man himself, the sniper next to him was a woman, but not just any ol' woman you see walking down the street. She was one of the best snipers the last three generations of humans had to offer, and just because her raw talent and skill was she put on this special unit. (A/N : There is no reason behind why this person is a female, I personally have only seen male snipers in movies (Not seen that many to be honest) and I thought this would make it even more special than it already is)
Her skills allowed her to hit targets kilometers removed from her position easily breaking all previous records that had been set. This of course wasn't just because her skill, the sniper rifle she used was the newest experimental sniper rifle. Fully modified to specifically meet her needs, light weight, newest camouflaging technology and a sight that could be used to see a leaf fall from a tree from kilometers away. This sniper in the hands of this person was the deadliest sniper combination mankind had to offer against monsters.

'I count 3 pairs of snipers between 800 and 1000 meters away from me, all ready to fire if I make a sudden move, this doesn't pressure me at all…' This situation was very intimidating for our monster because he has never been in such a situation before. Why would he even have been in such a situation before he had died?
Stay vigilant, from my own experience humans and discovering new and exciting things don't go well for the thing or person they are excited about. Greed has let humans down a dark path, just like the time with the first monster that was spotted during the "calamity".
Just like this situation they had captured this monster for experimentation, they were able to do so because this monster was relatively weak compared to what came after it. This monster was ranked at around C-rank if you were going off from "modern" rankings. I should be able to survive even if I have to fight, my superior reflexes, speed and strength should far surpass all of them for now.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*
Explosions and gun sounds could be heard all throughout the forest and even some of the trees had caught on fire. Bodies of the dead filled the ground and blood painted the surroundings, nothing was spared except for the few lucky survivors, well if you can count them lucky that is. Some of the survivors had slash wounds across their bodies and some of the more unfortunate ones were missing one or even more than one limb. The screams of pain from the injured echoed throughout the forest marking this day as the day humanity realised that they weren't the apex predator anymore.
Suddenly everything became dark, the screen where everything was seen one was turned off.
In a room full of technological stuff with a giant table in the middle that fifty people could easily seat on with enough room for some movement a silent and nervous aura was present. Inside of this room were currently 20 people all dressed in what looked like military outfits, these outfits all varied in color, there was green, white, blue and black all indicating that these people belonged to some part of the army.
*Bam*
The sudden silence was broken when one of these men smashed his fist on the large table and started yelling words that people outside of the room that should be soundproofed could hear.
"What did I just look at! Did I or did I not order you to approach with care! AND what do you bring me!" The man took a breath to calm himself down before continuing his now somewhat cooled down rant. "89 men dead, 70 wounded and there are even people missing that we are not sure of if they are alive or not! All of them specially trained with the best equipment that should enhance their battle capabilities three fold. How did this even happen..." The man rested his head in his hands and started massaging his temple in annoyance. 'The higher ups will probably blame what has happened on me, I better prepare myself in case for the worst'.

Godack This chapter is an old one and I haven't rewritten it, I just wanted to post it here to show that I am still alive. I know not many may read this at this point but I will still be updating this story no matter how many people are reading this.
