Chapter 255: CHAPTER 255: You Don't Have To Be So Harsh

Saphira laughed, "I'm envious of you. You can cry whenever you want. You can use it to gain sympathy. Aaahhh seriously how enviable."

The emotion she was trying so hard to control was going out of control again because of Elizabeth's appearance.

"Please... I'm scared of everyone other than him... Losing your memory is scary... everyone looks like they were out there to get you..."

Saphira sighed, she can somehow see just what kind of person this was before she lost her memories.

Either she uses her tears to gain sympathy everywhere or she was but a weakling and a cry baby who couldn't do anything without anyone there with her.

But remembering that she was doing a task of checking the people of her kingdom before she and her group disappeared and they were found by Saphira's group.

Saphira knew that she was the latter.

She is a weak cry baby person.

A lady who was protected all her life to the point of being unable to really depend on herself.

Saphira smiled bitterly.

'It was a bit enviable, these kind of people. They are the ones to be protected and not the other way around.'

Lily and Vermilion Bird could only silently listen to her.

"If ever you remember everything and that what I'm thinking is the person you are. I wish you would change, I genuinely do so even though I never really interacted with you. Because you also need to become stronger just so you could depend on yourself and not rely too much on others."

Admittedly, Saphira was shocked upon hearing the reason behind Elizabeth's incident.

Understanding her character, it was pretty obvious that it took a lot of courage on her side to get out of the palace and check on her people.

Too bad this courage was met with such tragedy, reverting her into such a weak mess.

Elizabeth didn't understand what Saphira was talking about but her tears never stopped.

Saphira was even more irked seeing her cry nonstop even though she was not doing anything to her.

"Are you trying to make me the villain here while acting like the one who was wronged?"

Elizabeth shook her head, "No... I just... I really just don't know what to do... if he were to distance himself to me..."

Saphira looked to the side while containing her irritation.

She did her best to remain calm even though she was now at her boiling point.

It has been a while since she was this mad for herself.

No.

When was it?

When did she get mad for herself?

Yes, indeed, she was like that back when they were children.

She didn't want being accused or bullied for no rhyme or reason.

As a child, she was like that but upon growing up and after experiencing so much, she chose to stop or she will be the one getting tired in the end.

As time goes by, she found that she was better this way, she felt much more peaceful.

She was fine with people bullying her.

She was fine with them criticizing her, hating her.

After maturing, she only gets mad whenever the others were involved.

Who would have thought there will come a time that she will be this mad for herself once again?

Was this the first time after what had happened on that island?

"You are fully aware of our relationship right?" she asked.

Elizabeth bowed her head, "I just..."

Saphira laughed once again, it was filled with sarcasm.

She was laughing but Elizabeth could hear the anger in it.

Saphira blew air threw her mouth before taking another deep breath.

But still she ended up laughing again.

The agitation in her heart was not subsiding at all, no matter how much she tries to calm herself down.

Her laugh loud enough to get the attention of some people.

They all stepped out of their tent and saw Elizabeth crying in front of her.

She saw them and could see that they have instantly judged her as the one bullying Elizabeth.

"Oh, we have some audience now," Saphira commented looking at everyone who was asking her through their eyes what she had done.

"It was you... because you laughed so loud..."

Elizabeth kept talking with her meek voice.

Saphira took a deep breath and brushed her hair up.

"Anyway, I didn't pull him from you, why are you speaking to me in this way? You saw me leave without asking him to follow me," she asked this time.

"He left... when you left..."

"Oh my gosh."

Saphira was close to losing her patience.

"Well, I apologize for he is not here. You can go."

Just as she turned, Elizabeth grabbed her left arm.

Her arm was actually wounded as well.

The slash she received on her back had actually run towards her arm.

Elizabeth's grip was hard enough that Saphira felt her arm go numb from the tremendous pain it caused.

She subconsciously push Elizabeth in order to free her arm.

Elizabeth fell down and was looking at her in shock.

Even Saphira was shocked.

She could tell Elizabeth didn't fall on purpose, it seems her push was just that strong due to the suddenness of Elizabeth's grip.

The knights assigned to accompany them back to the Imperial City rushed to Elizabeth's side.

"You don't have to be so harsh," Gwen instantly rebuked her.

Saphira who was ready to help Elizabeth up, raised her eyebrow at the accusing tone.

"I didn't mean to push her, so please just leave me alone," Saphira asked controlling her anger.

She can just vent it out somewhere else.

"Please apologize then we will leave you alone," one still spoke.

Saphira was close to snapping.

'Gosh, please give me more patience.'

She looked away from the weak Elizabeth but ended up seeing the judging look of the rest of those who are with them.

She laughed again as she scratched the back of her neck, then she returned her look at Elizabeth and those surrounding her.
