Chapter 32: Second Evolution Begins!
Over the next few days, as Roy trained to get his achievement, the other kobolds slowly began to join him. They all decided that they wished to be stronger, and that if a lesser being like Roy could do it, why couldn't they?
After four entire days of running and training, Roy finally got the notifications he was waiting for!

"BUHIHI SUCCESS!" Roy bellowed out, collapsing on the ground and panting. His hard work finally paid off and he received two achievements at the same time! "Seems that [Lesser Trifecta] raised all my stats by two. May not seem like much, but having all three achievements certainly feels fantastic." Roy commented as he enjoyed the feeling of min-maxing. He commonly did it in games, and being able to do it in real life was a unique feeling.
He wasn't slacking off with his skills either, hitting his last level in [Keratin Growth], getting [Hatchet Arts] to level eight, and reaching sixty five percent in Koboldese.
"I'm finally ready..." Roy whispered, looking up at the mid day sky and enjoying the rays from the sun.
"Solus! It's time for me to evolve again!" Roy called out to Solus who was doing squats with some of the other kobolds.
"Oh-k-ay!" Solus replied, before shaking her legs out to relieve some of the tension and walking over to Roy.
"Let's get our gear and head out to look for a boar or something. I'll come back here to evolve since it's safer than doing it in the woods." Roy told Solus his plan and she nodded her head.
Roy gathered his things in his backpack and set Inbellis' mobile home over his shoulder.
In Koboldese, Roy told the kobolds that he was going out to get the last kill he needed to evolve. They nodded their heads and said they would watch over the camp.
Although Roy liked all of the kobolds, he wasn't planning to invite them to join his party. He was hoping they would be able to find a village for them to live in as they headed up the river.
'As long as the goblins didn't wipe out the entire area, there should be a few villages up ahead. At least according to Asandra.' Roy and Solus were walking deeper into the woods now, moving as quietly as possible and keeping their senses primed.

A couple hours later, Roy and Solus heard the sound of footsteps crunching dried leaves ahead of them, then mushy sound of chewing. Looking at each other, they gave a nod. Slowly they split up to surround the area the noise appeared in.
Separating the vines and leaves in front of his face, Roy peered through to the area of the sound and spotted the creature that caused it.
[Horned Rabbit]

Notes:
A rabbit that evolved to have a horn growing on its head. Using its jumping power, the horn has the ability to pierce things with relative ease.
Tier 1
'Oh shit... Hopefully we can kill it with a surprise attack, that thing probably has [Pierce] and it can strengthen its body with mana...' Roy began to get cold sweat, seeing that this rabbit was the same evolved tier one as Nabik. Quickly calming his nerves, he realized that the rabbit probably wasn't sapient like Nabik. There was no way that a creature that could not reason and think for itself on a higher level could be as much of a threat as Nabik.
Roy steeled himself and slowly pulled out his hatchet. His fingers on his left hand that were originally bound and unmovable, had been broken apart by Nabik, allowing Roy to redo the design and create a new set of knife fingers that could bend. He also used the opportunity to include lattice designs in more parts of his armor. It was bulkier, sure, but far more defensive.
Creeping up behind the rabbit, who seemed to be eating a carcass of another creature, Roy stabbed down his left hand and activated [Pierce] on its left leg, as his hatchet came down hard on it's right leg.

*Slice*
"SQUEE SQUEE" The horned rabbit was screaming in pain, it tried to turn around, but as it did, another figure pounced on it. Solus held its head as Roy walked up and stabbed it again directly in the eye, hoping to kill it as painlessly as possible. "Sorry little guy, but I need to evolve... and eat." Roy picked up the "little rabbit" that was around one third his size as he walked back to the camp, happy he could eat something that wasn't goblin again.
Looking at the system log, Roy was happy to see that he had earned just enough experience to evolve.

"Seems I can backtrack to a normal orc if I didn't like Lesser Babirusa, or continue down the Babirusa evolutionary branches... Well I'm obviously sticking with Babirusa, but it's cool you can do that.

Finally reaching camp, the kobolds ran over to ask if Roy managed to succeed. He happily nodded and said he would begin soon, before throwing the rabbit near the fire.
Hearing this, all the kobolds excitedly prepared a place in the camp for Roy to evolve and said they would help guard him during the process.
This touched Roy, making him give a warm smile as he looked at them run around.
"Buhihi, what an odd feeling..." Roy sat down and waited patiently for them to prepare the spot. In the meantime, he took everything off and set it aside. He also handed Inbellis to Solus and told her to watch him.
Roy didn't know how long the evolution would take, but he assumed it would only be 10~20 minutes if the time scaled how he thought.
...
The spot was now ready and Roy walked over and selected to evolve. Soon after, the kobolds all watched a beautiful cocoon wrap around Roy, as he fell asleep in its warm embrace.
