Chapter 36: Mana Core
Waking up the next morning, Roy decided to take a break for the first part of the day and make some things for fun. He had spent the entirety of yesterday dissecting, and wanted to unwind a bit.
Taking the the fur and one of the tusks from the giant boar, Roy wanted to try making a bow. He reshaped the tusk into the shape of a recurve bow, and made the fur into the string. He then knotted it on both ends as tight as possible. After that he took the other tusk and used it to make the arrow heads and shafts, while he used the fur as a fletching.
"Awesome!" Roy was incredibly pleased with his work. He even gained a level on [Keratin Control] once again.
"Solus! I made a bow and arrows!" Roy proudly shouted to his sibling, who was eating some meat off to the side.
Solus looked over to him with a curious look in her eyes. "How d-o you u-se it?" She asked him, caressing the bow with great interest.
"It isn't hard to use, but it is pretty hard to aim. You have to pull the string back with an arrow nocked, aim at what you want to hit, then release your grip. Be careful that there isn't anything around you when you fire though, since neither of us have experience, we could end up shooting someone by accident." After the long explanation, Roy fired a couple shots and handed it off to Solus to play with, gave her a head pat and began breaking down the giant boar.

After the grueling process of taking apart the boar and crafting stuff, Roy ate some food and laid down on the grass. He was now wearing clothes he made out of boar fur, after absorbing or disconnecting most of the armor. He planned to redesign the armor later to make it equippable, as he no longer needed it to be physically attached to his body anymore to use his keratin skills on it.
With the amount of fur and hide available, Roy was actually able to make a fair bit of clothing. He didn't need to waste any, as he could just control the shape to fit how he wanted. This enabled all of those staying in this camp to be clothed.
Even with all the work, Roy was incredibly happy. He was having some of the most fun he had had since coming to this world. It was incredibly nice to have so many people to talk to.
Roy was originally pretty extroverted, so being isolated like he was in the beginning was terrible. He figured that even introverts would crave company daily after that experience.
"Sadly, this little paradise is ending soon..."
*Sigh*
Roy looked over to some of the kobolds gathering around Solus and taking turns playing with the bow.
"Buhihi, glad you're having fun, sis." Roy closed his eyes, deciding to take a short nap.

After his nap, Roy noticed that his MP was full and decided to start his Mana Heart practice. The first and second parts couldn't be staggered and needed to be done all at once, no matter how slow it's done. The third part can be done over time as the mana regenerates.
"Alright, so first I have to figure out how to move my mana..." Roy attempted to emulate what he saw in media and find the 'warmness' in him, but failed to do so.
"Ah I guess that the mana is spread out around my body right now, so that hypothesis is going in the trash. What about copying how it gets used in skills without actually casting a skill?" At this thought, Roy activated [Pierce] and felt how the mana flowed into his finger tip.
Focusing on that feeling, Roy attempted to cancel the skill and reverse the flow, bringing the mana into the center of his chest. Slowly doing this with every part of his body, Roy now had a clump of mana inside his chest.
'Now I have to make it into a ball...' Roy slowly squeezed the mana into shape. Having many issues with it as making a sphere of mana was not as simple as making a snowball. He continuously failed, as the mana he had pressed on one side would squirt out of the other constantly.
"UGH! What do I have to do?! How the hell... Do I have to keep practicing until I can press down on the whole thing evenly? I guess that's why most creatures just let it happen on its own even if it takes longer, this is insanely difficult!" As Roy continued complaining, he kept on practicing. If there was anything he learned from Hell's General, it would have to be perseverance.
*Shiver*
Remembering his old PT, Roy got goosebumps, before quickly returning to his task.
As the hours slowly passed and Roy was finally giving up hope of completing this today, he suddenly received a notification that he never would have expected!
[Mana Manipulation has reached the necessary requirements and has been acquired]
[Received Mana Manipulation Lv. 1]
"BUHIHI! If it even took ME that long of constant focused practice to receive that skill, how long would it take a normal person?!" Roy, tickled to bits at getting a skill that would immensely help him, immediately got back to work.
'Oh. My. God. This is like night and day... I'm finally able to move it around and control it a bit. With this I should finally be able to pressure all sides evenly!' Roy quickly got to it as he found that it was still difficult, but fully possible.
'With a bit of time and effort, I should finally be able to mold this freaking thing.' Roy focused incredibly hard as he slowly formed his mana into a sphere.
...
Around an hour later, Roy had succeeded and a small sphere was comfortably nestled inside his chest next to his heart.
"EUREKA! The final step for today is to begin the rotation process and solidify the mana!" Roy shouted out in excitement as he began the process. As the rotation started, he needed to make sure the spherical clump of mana didn't deform in any way, as it slowly solidified.
The process took a few hours, and by the time it could finally be considered a solid, dinner was ready. "Roy come on! It's time to eat!" Terren called out to Roy.
"I'll be there in a second, just finishing something up." Roy responded, before standing up and walking to the fire.
