Chapter 3: Chapter 003 - Mom and Dad (Edited)
Raido rushes downstairs after hearing the car entered their garage. He takes a seat in the living room and waits for his parents.
"Hello Raido, I see you are not nesting in your room today? did something happened?" His Dad said worriedly.
'The fuck? I only stayed in my room for 23 hours a day without classes,' Raido thought. "Same to you dad, same to you!"
"My Idiot son, I am working while you're shouting on the computer, I'm built differently so do you want to tell us anything? I need to finish this month's manuscript," His dad said with a tired voice.
"Here I made some coffee," Raido's mom put down three cups on the table. His dad immediately gulps down one.
'How can you drink hot coffee without cooling it down first? Is my dad an awakener?' Raido thought of seeing his dad's special ability.
"Sorry mom, You know I don't drink coffee," Raido said.
"Heathen..." His dad said in a very low voice.
"Don't call our son heathen dear," His mom said with a smile that is not a smile. "So Raido, what do you want to tell us?"
"Umm...I just noticed this morning but I have become an awakener so please let me take the hunter exam, I want to be a hunter!" Raido said he is slightly afraid that his parents won't support his decision.
"Awakened? A man of culture I see," His Dad murmurs in a very low voice. His mom pinched his dad secretly.
"I'm so happy for you honey!" His mom embraces him. "It's been your dream to become a hunter right? That is why you always spend all of your allowances in that game."
Raido's eyes twitch.
"Yeah, why can't you be a normal kid that always reads Henta..." His dad's sentence got cut off by his mother's death glare.
His mom let him go then they went back to their seats.
"So what ability do you have?" His mom said with a gentle smile. This is a trick question, if Raido mentions some weak ability she won't let him be a hunter.
"Bitch..." Raido's dad murmurs.
*Pinch*
"I Love you, darling, Raido don't trash talk your mom!" His dad said as he slowly drank Raido's coffee too.
"What!? I didn't say anything!." Raido rebutted.
"Shut up and tell us your ability! so I continue to draw boo.."
*Pinch*
His dad just shut his mouth and let Raido reply.
"I can shoot Lightning in my palms! and I am fast!" Raido said then proceed to demonstrate how fast he is..
Raido's movement is like a blur to his parents, They've watched him with their mouths wide open.
Raido's dad quickly recovered and murmured to his mom, "Keep that mouth open and I will put something in there."
*Pinch* The pinch is quite playful this time.
"Wow, Raido!" His mom clapped a few times. "Seeing that you have the ability to defend yourself, I will give you my permission to become a hunter, I don't want to set you back in your dreams, we will worry as parents do but we will still give you our full support, but don't enter high-level gates Ok?"
It is general knowledge that hunters can't grow their powers.
'Okay Chairman,' Raido thought but didn't voice out. "Of course mom please give me my allowance this month, I am going to the hunter's association to get my license."
His mom looks at his dad with a smile.
"Sigh, Here Idiot son, I encourage you to spend it on girls," His father said.
*Pinch*
"I mean go just go, I'm gonna draw."
Raido didn't mention the system or the change of his race and only showed them his class skills. He is pretty sure that there is no system as an awakened ability and wanted to keep it a secret at all cost.
He will be a hunter that can grow.
