Chapter 20: Relief X Questions
Caid put his hands in his pockets and looked down on Tank who was on the floor.
" So, are you willing to talk right now? "
Tank wiped a line of blood coming from his mouth and looked at Caid with fire burning in his eyes.
"Heh, f*ck you all. You all think that the better than me? You want me to become your f*cking lapdog so you can order me around as you please, so f*ck him, and f*ck you to.
I don't give a shit anymore!"
Caid frowned at Tanks words and imediately saw that his actions didn't have the desired effect. Tank now looked like a fierce, cornered beast in it's final struggle.
' I guess I pushed him a little too much. He has completely given up on his life and that is not what I want. I need to turn this around.'
He reached and grabbed Tank by the collar, bringing him before his face.
"You say you don't give a shit anymore? To me it looks like you are just a p*ssy ass b*tch. You can't handle it anymore and just gave up. Heh, no wonder your wife left you for another man, you little b*tch."
"Shut the f*ck up! You don't know anything. "
" Oh, it seems that you still have some fire in you, but what can you do with it? I'll tell you what can you do.
Nothing, you can't do shit with it."
Once again Thank fell into deep thought. He cleched his fist hard , closed his eyes and spoke with a shaky voice.
"You are right.
My wife left me, I have no children , no parent's and I'm in debt up to my neck. Right now the only reason I live is just because I'm afraid of dying."
A moment of silence enveloped the room as neither of them didn't know what to say anymore. Caid once again had failed to rile Tank up and direct his anger towards the people who made him do this, so that he could convince him cooperate and to understand what was going on in this ship . On the other hand Tank seemed to have accepted his fate and had completely given up.
"Look kid. I have made up my mind. Right now I'll call the authorities and report what I have done. I'll tell them everything about what is going to happen and....
"No, you won't."
His words were cut short by a sentence from Caid who had realize he was going the wrong way with Tank. Tank was now between a rock and a hard place and that wouldn't do so he decided to take another approach to the situation.
The carrot and stick approach.
"Huh.... what are you saying? Didn't you come here because you wanted to find out about and stop the plan?"
"Stupid ! I said I wanted to know about the plan first. I didn't say anything about stopping anyone."
"Then, you don't intend to stop the kidnaping?"
Caid was taken aback for a moment. All his thoughts on how to escape from a ariborne airship went to shit.
"Kidnaping?! Are you telling me that all this is about kidnaping someone? Is there really a person so valuable in this airship?"
He asked Tank while making some adjustments to his plan.
' If that is the case then I won't have to risk my life in any way. Right now I'm traveling not as Caid Yalan , but under a fake identity so I'm sure as I'm not the target. Also I am very sure that there are not many people who would dare anger one of the Ten Don's , besides maybe the phantom troupe, but they are thieves and not kidnappers.'
"No, they are not going to kidnap someone, they are going to kidnap ' everyone '. "
"Everyone? As in every person on this airship?"
"Yes. Opposed to asking a high ransom money for someone they are going to ask a certain amount for everyone in this airship."
"Hmm, that sounds like a good Idea. Most of the people riding this airship are relatively wealthy and by asking money separately for each of them they are bound to get something. "
"Yeah , that's what I also thought at the beginning. They are surely bound to get something, quantity over quality."
"That is a good theory, but there is a problem. Why would they reveal the plan to someone as untrustworthy as you? It makes no sense.... unless....
That is not the whole plan, or that is not the plan at all. Hey, what did they ask you to smuggle into the airship? "
"You won't believe it if I don't show it to you, but they asked me to smuggle some plants. They were some kind of flowers sealed in glass and also some guns."
"Guns I understand, but flowers? Why would they need to ask you to smuggle flowers?
Did you recognize any of them?"
Tank shook his head.
"I have no clue , I'm not a flower guy. I was also surprised when I saw them, but I didn't ask any questions."
"Okay, I understand. I got the gist's of it, but I have one last question. How many people are involved in this plan?"
"I don't know.
I only know of one person and he is someone I owe money to. He is called Makdei Milla, the boss of an underground casino. "
