Chapter 28: C28. Vampire
"What the hell happened..." I groaned as I felt myself collapsing onto the ground, the black smoke finally dissipating and my joints no longer feeling like bricks, "Where the hell am I anyway...?"
I looked around, my werewolf night vision automatically activating. A soft footstep in the distance caught my attention as I spun around towards the direction of the sound. Multiple soft footsteps. Bipedal, humanoid footsteps.
"Who's there?" I shouted, squinting as I headed towards that direction,
"I should be the one to ask that question." A sudden voice replied as a pair of glowing red eyes suddenly emerged, "Who the hell are you?"
The unknown individual slowly moved forward as their figure gradually came into view. A pale looking skeletal-like man. Their thin, almost translucent skin, basically clinging around their skeleton like cling wrap.
"Human?" The creature questioned as he slowly hobbled closer, however as he approached 50 metres, his steps immediately stopped and his arm quickly raised to his nose in alarm.
"You-!" He blurted out as he jumped backwards with caution, "What is your kind doing in here? Haven't we suffered enough?!"
I slowly squinted my eyes as I felt an urge within myself screaming to attack.
"Who are you?" I frowned in slight confusion, my arm quickly shifting into that of a werewolf as I cautiously positioned myself in front of the creature.
"Have you been living so peacefully that your kind has forgot about our existence?" The creature suddenly snickered, he himself also carefully stepping back, the nails on his hands extending rapidly to around 5 centimetres and two fangs protruded from his lips.
"…Vampire…?" I muttered aloud, watching the transformation.
"So you still know of our existence," the vampire growled, his voice half an octave lower as a pair of a metre long giant, grey and worn-out bat wings sprouted from his back, "So has your luck finally run out, seeing as you've been thrown down into this hellhole as well?" He snickered, suddenly disappearing from his spot and a sting from my neck caused me to spin around in surprise,
"Finally. The taste of blood," The vampire licked his finger as I quickly placed a hand on my neck; a small cut.
"A pure werewolf?" His eyes glistened as he licked his lips, his wings rejuvenating as the once grey worn-out colour becoming a dark crimson red and black and the sickly looking skin began simultaneously repairing itself; his entire appearance slowly began warping into that of a black-haired young man in his early twenties. His blood-red eyes squinted in delight as he licked his fingers clean, preparing to pounce,
"Don't mind if I have more," he chuckled, his figure once again disappearing from the spot.
"Well I kind of do," I spoke, reaching out my hand as I activated partial transformation on my eyes, my iris dilating with a golden yellow tint, replacing its previous chocolate brown, whilst my prior pupil shifting into an animalistic slit.
My vision warped the world into a reddish filter as the vampire's movement suddenly became visible; his previous sonic-like speed now perfectly clear.
"Stop running." I said, reaching my hand out and immediately grabbing his face, careful not to come into contact with those teeth.
"How-" the vampire stuttered, as he felt his momentum come to a complete stop, his eyes widening and his arms out of reach from my body.
"Nothing in this world's free. You get a taste, in return, I get a bite." A snicker formed on my lips as I opened my mouth.
