Chapter 10: Discoveries.
Aurora's POV
It's been only few moments since I told my sisters the entire thing. And I can't bear the looks they were giving me but I knew the risk of telling them.
"So all this while you and Aunt Taylor were in the mundane world?" Jane asked.
"Yes" I say.
"So how is it like living over there?" this time it was Eliza who asked.
"Well, first of it's nothing like here. Although the buildings could be comparable but technological means the two realms are nothing alike." I say
"What about the boys?" Jane asks while looking like she was lost in a fantasy world filled with the picture image of human boys in her world.
"Well, some of the boys are hot but there is nothing compared to the boys here in the academy." I say giving them a knowing smirk of my own.
"Okay" they both said.
"So what do you think of our world so far?" Jane asks me with a curious expression.
"Well, it beautiful and it's just quite right." I reply back.
"I have a question to ask. If your dragon hatched in the mundane world, then where is he?" Eliza ask. Well she is the intuitive one and since I promised them to tell the truth I removed my shirt to show them my back tattoo.
Seeing the moving tattoo on my back the two were shocked and excited. Seriously these girls are a bit weird.
"How is this possible?" Eliza asked.
"Well, it's aunt Taylor you really should be asking because all she said was I had to merge with my dragon before we ported to this world."
"Are you talking about 'Dragon Merge'?" Eliza asks.
"Um I really don't know" I say with a confused tone.
She ran out of the room and came back few seconds later with a huge and old book in her hands pointing to a specific part that looked like it was about to be destroyed but got saved. The page wasn't really that specific but I saw something like a dragon and human trying to be one.
"Is this what you are talking about?" she asked again pointing to the page.
"Yes, I think" I said.
"Why, Is something wrong?" I asked her.
"No, but now I truly believe you" she said looking at me with adoration clear in her eyes.
"And why is that?" I asked a little bit suspicious.
"Because only our mother, father and some members of the royal family including our aunt knew about this technique before it was almost destroyed." She said.
"So that means you truly are our sister" Jane said feeling excited.
"Yes, I guess"
"One more thing where did you sneak off to last night?" Eliza asked. Trust her to notice even the slightest change in everything.
"Umm, I went to train my powers since I have to keep it a secret." I said.
"Okay" she said.
"Is that why you've been avoiding us all day?" Jane asked.
"Yes"
"One more question How old are you?" Jane asks looking at me with a curious look.
"17, but my birthday is in two months" I answered with a sheepish look.
"How old are you guys?" I ask them with a smirk.
"We are 14" they answered shyly.
"If you are seventeen why are you in the first year classes?" Jane asked.
"I don't know" I said.
"Well, I might know why" an unknown voice answered instead of the twins and instantly we whipped our heads towards the direction of the voice.
The owner of the voice stepped forward so we could see his face and as soon as we saw the face.
We relaxed our bodies a bit as we saw the person who turned out to be Jacob.
"Jacob, what are you doing here?" Jane asked him.
"Well, ever since the fight and her confession" he pointed to me "I wanted to know the full truth and I've been following since" he said scratching his head.
"So you mean you followed into the forest and saw me train?" I asked him with a scary voice to tease him a bit.
"Um well yes but I'm sorry I just had a little doubt that's all and after I heard your conversation it was cleared" he said shakily.
"I know I'm just messing with you that's all" I said with a smile on my face. He relaxed and smiled back at him.
"But how was I unable to detect you if you were following me?" I asked looking at his direction.
"Well as you know people can control two to three elements, Jacob can control fire, Shadows and time. Mine is Lightning and time while yours apparently is all the elements." She said last time looking at me with awe.
"Wait did you say all the elements?" this time Jacob asked me looking at me with care. I just nodded in response.
"Azur is this true?"
"Yes, Me anima"
"But I can only control one element"
"Guess we will have to wait for them to manifest"
"Wow, the only person I know of who could do that was mom" he said in a bitter-sweet tone.
"Speaking of which, what happened to mum if you were the one ruling the kingdom" I asked them.
"Well after your disappearance five years ago, the kingdom was attacked and mom… well she died saving the kingdom." Jane said.
"What do you mean Five Years Ago" I ask feeling confused about the bomb they just dropped on me.
"You and aunt Taylor disappeared five years ago before the kingdom was attacked" Eliza said.
"Don't you remember anything from when we were kids?" Jacob asked.
"No, I only know I grew up in the human world then I was yanked into this realm orders from aunt which she said mom told her in a dream or something like that."
"Wait let me get this straight Mom spoke to aunt Taylor?" Jacob asked surprised at my statement.
"Why is that bad?" I asked with a serious and concerning tone.
"No, but if what you say is true then that means there is a possibility that mom is alive somewhere." He said
"Okay, this is getting to much for me head. How about we meet in the library say after classes tomorrow and also it's getting late." Eliza said with a sigh.
Everyone accepted that as the best idea so we all separated and went to sleep.
The Academy library was blissfully, blessedly quiet. A deep wooded circle desk sat near the entryway, the librarian Nadine and her aide working peacefully at the sleek monitors there. The room was two stories which curved in a large circle. Tall domed ceilings and one curved section on the right almost fully glass, the library was a perfect spot for those who got claustrophobic in classrooms. Natural light flooded through the room. Bookshelves lined in a half-circle rested against the walls. Students could work or study at the tables dotted around the space on the ground floor, or they could walk up to the staircases and follow the glass railing to the study corner on the top floor.
Aurora had a spot up in the back corner of the upper level stacks he frequented. The large table stood behind a similar shelf that appeared to mark the end of the library's collection.
The table that had become her sanctuary lay beyond the gap.
Aurora rounded the History section-and stopped dead.
Her siblings were already there.
"How did you guys know this is where I was going to be?" she asked her sisters and Jacob.
"The pretty librarian at the door told us that this is normally where you stay" Jane said in a duh tone.
Quickly Grabbing a seat, they got told to business and started proposing their theories concerning the issue until they finally came to a conclusion.
"So does this means mom is still alive?" Jane asks tears in her eyes you could tell she was fond of our mother.
"Just a Guess, but you said you had dreams about her while on earth?" Jacob asks to be sure.
"Then jane the answer is definitely" he said with full confidence.
"Why is that?" this time the question was put forward by me.
"In the whole Kingdom there are quite a few people who can contact each other through dreams, visions and other stuffs. You, mom and aunt Taylor are one of those few." He said with a full grin showcasing his white pearly set of teeth.
"What if she's dead, how can you be so sure that she isn't dead" Eliza said with no emotion of sort.
"Because one can only use such power while alive" I completed the answer for him reading it off a book.
"Then it's settled. Mom is alive and we need to rescue her but still that doesn't explain your loss of memory." Jane said stating the obvious.
"Oh, I know maybe aunt Taylor had something to do with it." Jacob said with a cherry smile.
"Okay but Azur said something about manifestation of powers or something along the line." I said with a nonchalant tone.
"Who's Azur?" Jacob asks
"Her dragon you dimwit." Both twins replied smacking him on the head.
"Okay if she said that I guess we have to wait till the time capsule she gave you before we make any plans." Jacob said in a tone which made him sound as serious as ever stating the obvious.
"And what's the time?" Eliza asks shifting her gaze at me.
"Um, two months" I said not wanting to reveal the main reason for the date.
"Okay in the mean-time what are we meant to do?" Jane asks us.
"Train" was all I could say.
"Why?"
"A war is coming and we know it and whether we like it or not if we don't prepare the kingdom will fall." I said in a deadly tone the temperature in whole library dropped an inch. A dangerous aura emitted from the corner of the library and apart from the people staying in that corner, only the librarian caught the faint whiff of it and shuddered and just gave a small smile.
Her siblings were shocked about her outburst but knew the reason for her outburst. Her rage and outburst was because of her care for the kingdom and she didn't realize it.
"Okay, but if you notice any change in your elements come tell us we know you can master all elements by yourself Big Sis." Jacob said.
"Okay" she said and gave a smile but didn't notice a tear drop had fallen from eyes.
And with that they left the library checking out different books for research.
Without wasting time, she left for the forest after her meeting with her siblings to train her powers.
She figured she had awakened the ice element but couldn't quite figure out the key to unlock the rest. She was rooted to the spot until finally she came up with an idea.
So basically she came into conclusion that if she could think of heat or fire maybe that could jumpstart the element.
She focused her mind thought about all things warm as though she was cold and imagined the flames on her palms trying to heat her. She was lost in her own world that she didn't notice the cracking and popping of bones and rustling of leaves coming up from behind her until she heard a voice. Hearing the voice, she turned her head so fast a human from earth wouldn't notice it and shot the owner of the voice a huge fireball
