Chapter 3: Chapter Three - Coffee Dates

Carson's Point of View

-

Getting to know Sunday wasn't as bad as I thought, she was funny, caring and ambitious.

We had a lot more in common than we thought, we both actually had green eyes but hers stood out more with her blonde hair. I learned she loved to read just like me, I also learned she is very smart. There is a lot I don't know about this girl and I hope that I do get to know her more and more as the days and weeks go by.

I don't know why I made such a fuss about the whole thing when all I did was marry a beautiful woman who was totally different to who I imagined. My mother did well picking Sunday to be my wife because even though I never wanted to ever marry a stranger, I'm happy I did.

While I waited in line at Starbucks I checked the time and hoped it'll soon be time for Sunday's lunch so I could take her out for lunch. It was nearing twelve and I was a little nervous to go into her place of work as it was my best friends company.

As my name was called I thanked the lady taking the two cups of coffee from her and walked to the building, I also learned at the wedding that she worked for one of my great friends Trey Cohen as my parents invited him to the wedding and he was shocked that it was Sunday I was marrying.

''Hey!'' Trey said as I walked through the doors. I gave him a small laugh and a hang shake as we got chatting away. ''How's the company coming along?'' He asked drinking from his cup.

''Yeah it's better than ever, the new range of t-shirts are selling quicker than I expected.'' I nodded. After we had discussed pairing up and making watches together with Valdez X Cohen collab.

''Well I got to run to a meeting but tell Sunday I said hello, her office is on floor twenty-one!" He patted me on the shoulder before running out the door and I made my way over to the elevator hitting the number he called out.

When I stepped out onto her floor I was greeted by a brunette haired woman at a desk who smiled at me. ''Hi Mr. Valdez. Are you here to see Sunday?'' She tucked her hair behind her ear and I nodded. She nodded back before putting one finger up and picking up the phone. ''Mrs. Valdez your husband is here to see you. Okay I will tell him that.'' She nodded hanging up.

''She said go straight in.'' She smiled her pearly whites as I walked over and opened the door to see Sunday typing on her computer. ''Hey what are you doing here?'' She looked up at me sitting back into her chair, oh god she was just breathtakingly beautiful.

''I was thinking maybe I could take you out for lunch?'' I stuttered a little, I don't know why but I felt like a school boy asking his crush to lunch. She gave me the smile I have grown to love over the last couple days. ''I don't see why not.'' She stood up grabbing her bag and coat before strutting out in front of me.

I followed her and walked beside her as I placed my hand on her lower back guiding her. ''Veronica if anybody calls just tell them I'll call them back whenever I'm back in the office.'' Sunday said and Veronica nodded.

As we entered the elevator it was empty but as the door began to close a hand was shoved in between the doors and a man appeared while I kept my hand on her lower back. ''Sunday, I haven't seen you all morning.'' He said standing next to her fixing his hair, she glanced at him and then at me. ''Busy with emails.'' She said with a straight face.

''Is this the new husband?'' He asked trying to start a conversation.

''I am and you are?'' I asked looking at him. ''Simon Walker, Sunday's co-worker. It's nice to meet you Mr. Valdez.'' He stuck his hand out for me to shake and I did, I didn't want to come off rude in her place of work. ''You too Mr. Walker.''

When the doors opened I gently guided Sunday out and towards the double glass doors. ''See you around Sunday.'' Simon said walking off in a different direction, I glared at him as he walked away.  ''I don't like him.'' I said when we walked down the street towards all the cafes. ''That makes two of us then.'' She smirked at me. ''So where would you like to eat?'' I asked with my hands in my pocket. ''Could we go Brian's? They have the most amazing sandwiches.'' Sunday suggested shrugging her shoulders, I nodded agreeing with her and she smiled as she knew she just got her own way with me.

Walking towards Brian's Cafe we walked in and took a seat in the far back. ''I guess this whole married life isn't as bad as I thought.'' She said playing with her wedding ring, she told me she absolutely adored the ring. ''I thought I was marrying a woman twice my age but when I saw you walking up the aisle, I was taken away by your beauty.'' We laughed and a waitress came over to take our order. ''I think I could get used to being married, especially if it's to you.'' I winked and she lowered her head to hide her blush.

''I like that we are getting along, god I thought you were going to be horrible forever.'' She admitted, I was a little taken back but I nodded understanding what she was talking about. ''No, I think I just didn't know how to act around a stranger who I was forced to marry and live with. So I thought being cruel to you helped me take my anger out. My anger wasn't directed at you personally it was more at my parents but they weren't around and you were but I am sorry and it won't happen again.''

''It's okay we all have our bad days but we can start fresh if you like.''

I nodded and she sent me a sweet smile as our sandwiches was placed in front of us. As I took a big bite from my sandwich and nodding. ''I told you they were good!'' She gave me a wide smile and I nodded with a mouth full of food.

This is how I wanted it to be, her smiling and the both of us getting along.
