Chapter 7: Looking for the secret of Maggie's death

I did not have many friends in my life. It bothers me to want to talk about the past. I have only seen Jules once in my whole life, but I do not know why I would like to find her today and talk to her.

Maggie's mother told me that Jules is a doctor. What could I say in response to her? It is better to say that I heard her name from Maggie. I guess Jules was Maggie's co-worker in the hospital. "I heard Jules' name from Maggie. Was she her colleague?"

I said these while Maggie wanted me to ask different things her mother very quickly and without any pause. She was constantly changing places and laughing excitedly.

Maggie's mother said in surprise, "Maggie? How did Maggie get to know Dr. Black? Dr. Black is my psychologist. I've been seeing her for a while. How did Maggie know her? What did Maggie tell you about her? You mean she knew Maggie, and she didn't tell me anything?"

After hearing Maggie's mother's words, I realized what a big mistake I had made. I looked for a way to correct my mistake in a matter of seconds and said, "I think I made a mistake. I'm looking for someone named Jules Blake, not Jules Black!"

- "But you said, Black! I heard, right."

- "No, no, I'm sure I said Blake," I said this without embarrassment and in complete calm.

I wanted to change the subject and started praising the taste of her cake. I even asked to normalize the situation: "I did not know you were going to a psychologist. Will it help you?"

- "I was not feeling well after Maggie's death. I'm still unfortunate and depressed. Dr. Black has helped me a lot. I feel guilty about Maggie's death."

Maggie cried when she heard this and looked at me. I think she left this place quickly because of fear of making me angry again.

The old woman also cried. I felt remorse for upsetting her and her daughter because of my own curiosity, but I had to be selfish and find Jules' address.

I entered her mind again. Because of our conversation about Jules, the old woman's mind was full of Jules's information.

It had been more than 14 years, but Jules had precisely the same face. It was interesting that when I entered people's minds, I could recognize people's faces as if there was no news of agnosia in people's minds.

That night I convoyed Maggie's mother to her house and returned to my work.

Maggie suddenly appeared next to me and said, "Do I really know this Jules girl? Why did you ask my mother and me about her? Why did you make my mother cry? Why did you lie to her? I really heard you said, Black."

- "I'm really upset about this, Maggie, but please don't ask me any more questions. I can't talk more. I've talked more in all these days than all these years. I have to focus on my work:"

Maggie said sadly, "You mean I disturbed your work and life?"

- "I did not say that, but I have to worry about you all day. I think what happened to you was your husband's fault."

- "Jonathan? You mean I killed myself for Jonathan?"

- "No, Maggie; I mean, I think Someone killed you."

- "What do you say, Aiden? Do you understand what you are saying? How dare you say that? Jonathan loved me."

- "I'm sure you did not commit suicide. I have seen many people in my life who wanted to commit suicide. You were not like them at all."

- "Are you a mind teller? What do you know about human relationships? You were always alone. You had no friends, and you even talked to us by force always," Maggie said this out loud and angrily.

She was right. I'm really an abandoned and introverted person, but I was very nervous; I shouted involuntarily, "Yes, I can read the minds of people. I was reading your mind many times. I read the mind of your mother and even your husband. So, if you want to go to the afterlife, please do not make me nervous." Maggie said nothing more.

I painted a picture until morning. I painted the musical crystal ball we saw behind the shop window, and instead of the dancing statue in the middle of that crystal ball, I tried to paint Jules.

In the morning, she wouldn't even look at me. I approached Maggie and said, "I know I behaved very badly last night. Maggie, I want to help you. Please do not be upset with me. I am going out to see someone I have been looking for for a long time. Please wait for me here."

Maggie still wouldn't say anything. I was afraid that my words last night would ignite the fire of her anger. The fire of rage that could very quickly turn her into an evil spirit and avenger.

If that happened, then Maggie would never be able to leave this world and find peace.

I did not want to leave her alone, but she has to be alone to cope with herself. I was not sure that her killer was Jonathan's, but I was almost certain that she was killed.

I saw Jules' address in mind of Maggie's mother last night. She worked in one of the famous hospitals and, of course, had a specialized psychiatric clinic.

I always hated psychologists. They do not want to believe that the world is full of supernatural events that have nothing to do with mental health problems and disorders. I ran away from psychologists many times.

I also took the painting I had drawn last night with me. I went to the hospital. It was appointment time. I was able to get into the hospital very easily.

I asked the hospital guide about Jules, and she guided me to another place. After a bit of searching, I was able to find where Jules was.

I have stress from facing Jules. What should I tell her? How should I behave? I entered the desired department of the hospital. I asked about Jules.

I had to wait there for her to come, and it was really a big hospital; I waited for Jules; otherwise, I would have had to go to Jules Clinic.

I wondered what to say to Jules after all these years and whether she remembered me at all?

Suddenly someone tapped me on the shoulder. I raised my head, and I could easily recognize Jonathan.

Jonathan said, "Hello, Mr. Neighbor ?! Do you have a customer here?" He grinned at the painting inside my hands.

I was not at all happy to meet Jonathan. That black halo around him and, of course, my inability to read his mind scares me.

I said, "Hello, doctor. I'm here to see a friend. Do you work at this hospital?"

- "I just came to this hospital. In which room is your friend hospitalized?"

- "Oh, congratulations to you. This is a big hospital."

Honestly, I did not want to give him any specific information. That's why I didn't answer him about my friend.

For surgery of a patient, Jonathan had to go to the operating room, said goodbye to me, and left.

I went back to the reception area and asked about Jules. They said I would have to wait for more. Jules had gone to talk to a boy who had just doctors had his stomach washed for suicide.

I wanted to go back and sit in my chair when a doctor and I collided and fell to the ground.

I raised my head and apologized to her. She was a female doctor who tied her blonde hair in a ponytail and smelled of the familiar scent. I bent down to pick up her papers from the floor when she said, "I'll collect them myself."

I stared into her eyes. Other than her hair, I could only recognize her eyes. I entered her mind, involuntarily.

In disbelief, I saw Jonathan's face in that woman's mind. I also saw Maggie. I witnessed the scene of Jonathan betraying Maggie with that woman.

I pulled myself out of those dirty scenes and walked over to that chair. My mind was full of the sad events that Maggie witnessed. Now I could understand why Maggie she had to kill herself. But I saw something else in the woman's mind that scared me even more.
