Chapter 15: Where is Tonks?
Unfortunately option with recognizing friends of Tonks didn't work, he didn't either check any information about this man in previous life. Severus started Hogwarts after Ted's graduation, missing opportunity to get any opinion about him.
Snape preferred befriending pure bloods instead of random muggleborn students, he wasn't going to follow same route this time. Change needed a lot people supporting it on their shoulders, he planned nurturing various people with different heritages in future.
'What can I say? Ted Tonks wasn't very vital character in the series… He is that guy who seduced Andromeda from her ideology… Hahaha! I don't know…' In the end his life ended in hands of Snatchers, basically his existence didn't left any impression on John.
'Ah… I watched a clip on youtube… He tried to invite Dromeda for the concert.' Those weren't cannon either, however part of their story was right.
'I didn't start working on things for Malfoy… but I need a favor from him. It will cost me in future…' They wouldn't let this opportunity go, he would need repay the favor in future.
'I can offer some discounts on magic phones… If they want to really make me bleed… I will observe Black's house until the end of winter break.'
"Lord Malfoy… I need a favor from you." After exchanging his pleasantries, he went straightforward to the point.
"It can be achieved… Not for free, though."
"I can offer a discount on my products. If Lord Malfoy doesn't like this offer. I will use more crude ways to get my information." It was basic statement to let Abraxas know that he wants his help, yet it isn't his only option.
"Hahaha! Let's go with the discount…" His connections could actually put someone in Azkaban without trial, getting some information about a random muggle born a wizard was formality.
Their deal was finished with five percent discount on last order, Abraxas sent him information through a phone a half hour later.
'He is living at suburbs of Wakefield…' Unfortunately his brain didn't have GPS installed and he needed to check out maps for its exact position.
After confirming position of his target, he apparated with disguise on. His movement speed was relatively fast, quickly arriving in surroundings of Tonks family house.
'Not too luxurious or too shabby. I lived in worse places in my life.' It was important to have a source of electricity, water and some cooking area. Last part could be compromised with the microwave and electric kettle.
Knock! Knock! Knock! Creak. Middle aged man opened his doors with scanning Severus appearance.
"Eh? TEEEED! Someone came to you." Severus couldn't even mutter a word, and his disguise was perfect.
"Coming!" Tall man with pale hair came to the door, there were many traces of body exhaustion.
"I don't recognize you…"
"Let's go outside… We have few things to talk. You don't want to involve your family into those matters." It wasn't like his parents could understand things from the magical world.
They went into the backyard of his house, there was small alcove for evenings. Severus cleaned and dried seats, so they can sit for conversation.
"Man…I would really like to talk with you… but I need to go to work tomorrow." It was afternoon and his body was pretty exhausted.
"What's your relationship with Andromeda Black?" Ted imiadately got scared and almost took out his wand.
"I wouldn't try this if I were you. I don't need a wand to disarm you."
"What do you want from Andromeda! I won't tell you anything."
"Ok. Now… Listen. I came here to confirm a date of your plan. I am friend of Bellatrix. I don't know if you two had considered consequences of the second daughter becoming blood traitor…"
"Friend of Bellatrix? She is little crazy…" Her behavior towards no pure wizards was little too much.
"I don't care about your past interactions… If you flee the house… I will need to protect Narcissa."
"From whom? I don't understand… I get that their parents have some temper problems…"
"Edward… The wizarding world is at war with Dark Lord and his followers."
"I was little busy recently… Trying to earn every coin possible. It's hard… You are saying that they will attack Blacks for having two blood traitors in family."
"Not exactly… There is possibility. You don't want to risk your future wife's family… I am mainly responsible for Bella's decision." They might be family in future, so he didn't plan to lie to him.
"Bella? Are you and her?" Ted started having odd thoughts in his mind, Severus couldn't help and shook his head.
"Not yet. I am working on it. Let's go back to topic. I hope she won't expose herself before graduation." Tonks looked at him with little sad look, something wasn't right.
"I am afraid… it's not that simple. Her parents lost their minds after Bellatrix left…" Pollux spent so much time disciplining Bella and it didn't work either.
"It's impossible to contact Dromeda during the break… she would frequently write owls after sneaking out of house. This time… Nothing came… I am extremely worried… but in the end of the day. I am just a muggle born wizard with no power." Tonks wasn't rich or powerful to have any influence in the magical world, he could only watch events happening before his eyes.
Severus took out the magical phone and called Bellatrix, she instantly answered.
"Hello. Did you find the person? What about my sister?"
"I found him. I will explain you later." Ted was next to him, he wasn't going to tell Bellatrix that this man seduced his sister.
"Magical Phone? I saw those in school. Fancy toys..."
"I think your parents became little too strict with your sisters. They might undergo similar treatment as you got…" Bellatrix face twisted into fury, making her eye twitch.
"Calm down… It needs to be carefully planned. I can check if their minds are fine." This was only solution without causing bigger commotion for Black family. His previous actions to use Dumbledore as shield would be pointless if he exposed himself by attacking House of Black.
"It's easy to say! They are my only family! I cannot just let stay and watch as he…as he…" If she wasn't the fugitive, she would probably rush into her parents manor and broke out her sisters.
"We might have misunderstood… Don't make any movements without me."
"Sorry Mr. Tonks… I need to rush into London. Goodbye."
"Can I…" Before he managed to say anything, Severus had been already in London.
"I need to learn this skill too. This guy was extremely rude..."
After reaching area of Black mansion, he quietely aproached the property.
Severus looked into direction of girl's rooms, using ordinary stone to hit the wall next to Andromeda's window. Hoping that noise will lure her out to look through window. His plan worked and he could see Andromeda checking situation through the window.
'Weak mind shields… Unfortunately not enough for me…' Their parents nothing but place them under house arrest, fortunately girls weren't harmed by Pollux yet.
His attack on her was detected by protective charms on the mansion, however before people reacted Severus was elsewhere.
"Their minds are temporarily safe… They cannot get out of house. We don't need to act for time being." Those words soothed Bellatrix heart, she sighed and drank big glass of wine.
"Thank you… My sisters are my only family…" As she entered the house, Bella hugged him with tears of relief. Her sisters weren't getting broken by her father, however she punched him lightly.
"I hope you won't invade minds of my sisters in future…"
"I had no other option. I only viewed recent memories."
"I understand… but you know. I absolutely hate mind fucking magic…" Her impression Legilimency wasn't surprising, after all experiences from her father.
"I know… It's alright."
