Chapter 3: Two: Travellers of Time I

I woke up slightly disoriented with a pounding headache. I felt like there was a particularly bad marching band in my head that seemed intent on playing as horribly as possible. I sat and winced as my head throbbed and my vision blurred. I remembered the weird dream I had. Ha! I thought the Eye had transported me into a lake...

Time to wake up I thought as I shook my head slightly, trying to get rid of my clinging headache. I opened my eyes and realised that maybe, just maybe I had drowned and gone to heaven because I was most definitely not in my room. The room looked like something a princess' room would look like. The bed had a soft cream-coloured regent headboard with a soft silk bedspread and sheets. There were soft linen sheets hanging from the ceiling and draping all around the bed. The floor was a beautiful mosaic of egyptian inscriptions and the ceiling had paintings of Egyptian gods on it. The room smelled heavily of Egyptian spices.

I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming and that I wasn't a ghost. It hurt so that means I must be alive! I thought, but then it dawned on me that I could have been kidnapped. Oh Dios! I am way too young to die. I start frantically scanning the room for an exit and after some time, I spotted one, a wooden door, slightly ajar. I ponder over it no longer as I lunged towards the door, promptly throwing it open and dashing out.

The door led to a stone corridor with tapestries with intricate paintings of Egyptian prophesies and myths. It almost made me want to stay. I hurry down the corridor, not even stopping to stare like I normally would. The corridor seemed to go on forever but eventually I reached a door covered with curtains like the ones that hanged in the room I woke up in. I entered and then, froze. I heard the door close behind me but payed it no heed... I had bigger problems because standing around a table laden with food sat four people, all staring directly at me. Dang it!

At the table were two men and two women. One of the men looked to be in his sixties and the other looked to be in his mid twenties. The women both looked like they were in their early twenties.

One of the women was slightly taller than the other. She had dark brown hair and equally dark eyes and wore a simple white ankle length dress with a halter neckline and a silk belt round her waist. The other woman had slightly lighter brown hair and black eyes. She wore a similar dress to the other woman's, but the dress had a boat neckline instead. The older man had a receding hairline and several wrinkles scattered on his face. He bared his teeth at me when he saw I was staring at him, revealing his yellow teeth. He had wrap-round skirt that was secured at the waist with a belt, showcasing his rather large beer belly. The younger man wore the same clothes as the older man, which showcased his delicious drool worthy abs. He had light brown curls and chocolate brown orbs that were currently glued to my fidgeting form. He looked kind of angry actually...

"Nour" he barked and almost immediately, a man in a linen kilt and leather cuirass ran into the room and catching sight of the occupants of the room, bowed and then knelt. "Pharaoh Abrax" he said in a subdued voice. The man -whom I assume is Abrax- glared at the man, Nour.

" Tell me why our prisoner is out of her room" he asked in a curt tone. Nour frowned and scanned the room. When his eyes landed on me, he looked quite shocked. " I will escort her back to her room immediately my Pharaoh" Nour said, moving towards me.

I felt anger coursing through my veins. I. NEEDED. ANSWERS! "Touch me and loose the arm" I barked at Nour and felt slightly guilty as he recoiled .

I snapped my head up and proceeded to glare at Abrax. "I am not going back to that room" I snarled, but immediately regretted it when he narrowed his eyes at me, oh oh. "Studies have shown that fresh air can give you good mental focus and more energy" I say softly, looking at him with a pout on my lips. Something akin to amusement flashed in his eyes but disappeared before I could observe it properly.

"Fine" he said in a deep gravely voice. He looked toward the shorter of the two women. "Isis" he said in a surprisingly soft voice, "Could you...?"

"No problem" she chipped. Abrax nooded at her then stood up. "Come on Maat" he says, beckoning to the other man, as he exited through the very same doors I entered through, followed by Maat ( A.K.A baldie).

I realised that I was in the room alone with Isis and the other woman. There was silence for a few minutes before Isis broke it. " Oh how rude of me" she said smiling " I'm Isis and this is Rashida" she continued as she gestured to the woman beside her.

"Your sister?" I asked.

Isis and Rashida looked at each other then burst out laughing. "No" Isis giggled "She's my wife"

"Oh" I said feeling kind of awkward

"Come on" Rashida said softly and headed through the door I had come from. Isis followed through after her, waving for me to follow. I hurried after her and took my time to admire all the tapestries that I didn't get time to admire earlier. After a while we reached a doorway covered with a teal-coloured silk sheet. Rashida pushed the sheet aside and passed through the doorway, followed closely by Isis. I followed after them and lo and behold. Before me was the most beautiful garden I had ever seen. There were exotic flowers planted at every available space and golden brown sand at my feet. At the centre of the garden stood a lotus shaped water fountain that sprouted water at the exotic flowers, leaving little streams everywhere. The flowers produced a powerful, sweet smelling fragrance that hang heavily in the air. I felt a smile grow on my face as a blast of fresh warm air caressed my face, tangling my hair. I was so caught up in the moment that I did not hear the sound of footsteps approaching me.

" Beautiful, isn't it Dory?" A familiar voice said behind me. I froze and turned slowly, coming face with him!

Dios! What is he doing here?
