Chapter 134: 131. Sudden Nuisance, Part IV

{"DESTROY ALL HUMANITY,"} he exclaimed while smirking. {"As Natasha herself said, kid, chaos is a synonym of destruction when it comes to me. I am the only being in the sphere who possesses this magic, and it is said to be the most destructive and powerful magic of all. The other spirits do not fear me without a reason. And if you humans can destroy humanity, do you really think I cannot?"}

Val was speechless. "That is why even Stradivarius K'hir fears that one day a human could be born with this magic of yours. It could potentially mean the downfall of humanity as we know it. Of everything, actually," I spoke. "Let's just pray to the Goddess that if a human happened to possess this magic in the time we are still here, living on this sphere, this person doesn't become our enemy."

Chaos chuckled softly, {"I doubt this person would be against you!"} He muttered.

"Why do you think so?" Val questioned.

{"Because you will both probably be dead by the time that happens. IF it happens,"} he mocked.

"I hope you are right!" It was all I could manage to say. "But yes, it makes sense that you could have the power to destroy everything. Nevertheless, what would Mikla do to you if you did that?"

{"Probably wipe my existence of this sphere, or make it impossible for me to ever do anything,"} he didn't seem fazed by it. {"As much as I wanted to do that, I would never. Without humans, it would quite meaningless. I wouldn't have people to badmouth about, and it would be just we, spirits, again. And that would be so damn boring."}

My little brother giggled anxiously at that as if he wasn't sure if he should believe that or not. However, I felt, deep inside of me, that Chaos was being honest. "Let's head downtown and eat already. We are wasting our time here!"

Three Knights from the Black Imperial Knights came our way when we were close to Leah's, the restaurant I used to go to back in my first life, when I didn't want anyone to recognize me, stopping us from reaching the place. They were probably wanting to know who we were, once we weren't looking like the children of the Grand Duke Nicholai. Furthermore, Val was looking very shabby.

"Tsk, that's all I needed," I muttered sarcastically and Val sighed.

"Good morning, ma'am," he said to me and turned to my brother, "kid. For reasons that concern the security of the Imperial Capital, we need to know who are you, where are you coming from, and where you buy those horses and your somewhat fancy clothes, ma'am," the taller Knight, with short blonde hair, black eyes, and thick eyelashes asked.

"Is this supposed to be a joke?" I questioned annoyed and they ignored my tone, staring at me with some superiority. What a jerk.

"No, ma'am, we couldn't be more serious," the shorter but larger in muscles Knight said, looking up and down at me with his orange eyes and common short straight brown hair. "Answer our questions or face the consequences."

"Sir, you should just back away. You are making a big mistake and we are starving, we need to eat right now," Val spoke, deadly calm, and the third guy, with ocean eyes and shoulder-length strawberry wavy hair, gave us a vicious smile.

"And you are starving at that," he exclaimed maliciously. "Answer already, you wrench. Stop hiding behind the little kid," he spoke again, this time looking straight at me, and in his eyes, I could see that he believed to know everything.

"I knew that you, Knights of the Black Imperial Brigade were a disgusting bunch of people, but I hadn't expected you to be this dumb as well," the strawberry-haired guy got annoyed at me and held my right hand in a very strong grip. "Are you trying to break my wrist, Sir?" I asked staring at his hand, then back to his eyes.

"Are you weak enough to have your wrist broken with this slight amount of strength, ma'am?" That's enough!

I got out of my horse, twisted the hand he was touching me with and broke it. Then the other two Knights came to me and tried to hit me with their swords, but I acted fast and blocked both of them with my twin daggers. A psycho-like smile appeared on my lips and they looked startled.

The strawberry-haired Knight got up, and when he was going to you his water magic on me, Val came right away and used his electric magic on the guy, making him kneel in front of us. Taking advantage of that moment, which made the other two Knights freeze, I used my daggers to fastly make a deep cut on both of their legs, making them fall to the ground, screaming and bleeding.

"You fucking bitch!" The strawberry-haired yelled at me, his face red with anger

"You are going to pay, for this, wrench," said the blondie, almost crying in pain.

I chuckled out loud, making both of them and all the other people who gathered around us, startled again. They looked at me, both the three of them laying on the ground. Defeated.

"Me? But you guys are the ones who attacked me first. And want to know who we are? We are both royals, assholes! What are you going to do now, hm?" The color of their faces ran out and they became paler than ice.

"What the...?" the strawberry-haired shouted, scared, making me giggle again.

"It's a pleasure to beat three jerks like you," I bowed in a mocking way. "I'm Royal Princess Natasha Mary-Anne Ludwick Nicholai, and this is my little brother, Royal Prince Valerian Dominic Ludwick Nicholai. We are two of the four children of Grand Duke Gilbert Nicholai. From the great House Nicholai. I think you may have heard of us, right?" It was a satisfying view to see when I looked around and saw everybody's jaws on the ground. "Damn, I'm starving! Let's go, Val," I looked at Val, he nodded and we got on our horses again.

Finally heading to where we were going to have our breakfast.

"Damn, sis, you rock it doing that. It was so badass," Val exclaimed after we made our order, at the table, I used to eat, on the side of the first floor, away from the windows and closer to the kitchen. "The way you got out of Moondust, took your daggers out from their hidden pockets and defeated them... and all of that in a splint of a second. You will become the subject of the gossip in the Capital for a while," it's highly improbable, but it's not like I give a damn about that either

"Nah, Val. I bet with you that people will focus on what you did. They will probably say that I was defenseless, you got off Thunderbolt, used your amazing electric magic on them, protected me, all of that in a blink of an eye, and also got back on your horse without are scratch. While I was in a very shabby pair of clothes," he rolled his eyes, not believing in me. But I know how this works. I'm used to it.

While gossiping, people always distorted the facts, and after a hundred people repassed it, it was different and the best part always focused on the most interesting person involved. And in this case, the interesting person in the equation is, absolutely, Valerian.

What can I say? I'm okay with Val getting the attention. Besides, if the gossip indeed works out as I think it will, it would be good for him.

People would think things like, 'Oh my gods, the youngest son of the House Nicholai defeated three Knights of the Black Imperial Knights who messed with his magicless sister, all alone.' 'He's so strong at such a young age.' 'He'll become an amazing fighter in the future.' 'This can make him a candidate to get a higher position in the Knights of the Grand Duchy Nicholai.'

And THAT is what I'm aiming for.

I can't say that I did that on purpose to make this happen, because it wouldn't be true. What I can say is that I'm just taking advantage of the situation in from of me. That's what smart people do. Find an opening in a sudden nuisance and make it something that will benefit me in the future.

That will help me achieve my goal. And once one of my goals is to make Val, the next Captain of the Duchy Knights, that's what I can say. "You did good back there, Val. It was a fast reaction. You're learning faster," he smiled.

"Thank you, sis. It was what I could do at that moment. I'm sorry for being a burden back there. I was just too tired. But when I saw that red-haired asshole trying to attack you from behind with his magic, I just couldn't stay still. But it was easier because it was magic-related," well, yeah, but still.

"You still acted right, Val. Don't flat yourself like that. It was a fast reaction and that's all that matters!" Seeing how grateful he looked when he heard that, made me a little more at ease.

"Thank you again, Nat!"

Leah Malcolm, the chef himself came with our food and left the plates in front of us. Also, one of my friendly acquaintances is back there, although we aren't close here yet. She smiled genuinely when she saw me, gentle as always. She greeted us, probably recognizing who we were because of the color of our hair and eyes, then she left again.
