Chapter 43: Palace

The Imperial Palace was as beautiful as ever. The glowing walls adorned with halcyon ornaments and the marble echoed the sounds of her heels hitting the ground. Lumielle's gait was elegant with not a modicum of hesitation. Oscillating with resound pride, she looked like a Princess. A plucked rose was what she had been in her first-life, withering away inside of a vase, now, she would become a snake that tempted Eve inside of the garden. Slithering in-between the grass to try and cajole those around her.

"The Princess," Helio announced to her father. Her father sat upon the throne. He looked young for his age, the fine-lines of aging only adding to his mature charm. His hazy golden eyes were strong, still holding a certain ferocity that would be able to keep beasts in line. A crown sat upon his head, the same hue as his tresses. He looked as though he was dipped in gold.
