Chapter 34: Semi Divine Beast
"Don't be afraid child, I am quite impressed by your performance, those bats were made from a bit of my bloodline power and since you were able to kill them, it means that you have a top tier bloodline" The Sage Dragon said with a smile that frightened him more than it comforted him.
'You call that a bit, those bats almost killed me, huh, wait aren't I supposed to be dead?, is this hell?, maybe this is an illusion' Felix thought as he knitted his eyebrows.
"You aren't dead and this isn't hell if that's what you are thinking" The Sage Dragon said with a wise expression.
'How did he know what I was thinking, can he read my mind?, is this a technique that is unique to strong people because I am sure that James can read my mind, but he definitely ain't as strong as this Dragon, wait can he hear what I am thinking right now?' Felix thought as he glanced at the Sage Dragon.
"Your soul is strong and shockingly familiar, and most of the people I knew were people who could destroy planets easily so whoever you were before you reincarnated, was someone equal in power to me or even higher" The Sage Dragon said as it fell into deep thought.
"I thought dragons were supposed to be extinct" Felix said as he thought of something.
"Yes after the great war, several of my kin were killed and our overall strength plummeted, after seeing this the seven Semi-divine guardian dragons ordered for all dragons to go into hiding, a mistake which they would forever regret" As it said this, the Sage Dragon had a look of regret on its face.
"Why would they regret it?" Felix asked curiously.
"After going into hiding, the Demon race attacked the Phoenix race and massacred them, the dragon race hid like cowards and watched as their closest ally was killed, if only we had been more courageous, we would have united against the demons but we..." The Sage Dragon said and stopped as a pained look crossed it's face.
"I am sorry for that" Felix said with sympathy.
"You don't have to be, we are to be blamed for our mistakes" The Sage Dragon said with a sign.
"You said something about the Semi-divine, what is that?" Felix asked as he changed the topic.
"At your level of strength, you wouldn't understand, there are several realms of cultivation in this world, with the mortal rank being the lowest and the immortal rank being the highest that is known, but in the history of our universe, there have only been 2 beings who have reached the rank of Semi-immortal by themselves, but there are exceptions which are Divine beasts who naturally have the power of a immortal, nobody knows where they came from or how they came into existence, they possess frightening powers that could crush the world" The Sage Dragon said then paused.
'Divine beasts, mortal rank, immortal rank, so much that I don't know but where do I fit in all this' Felix thought with confusion.
"With what I have said, you should understand how hard it is to reach the immortal rank, the Divine Beasts direct descendants are the Semi-divine beasts, our ancestor was also a Divine beast know as the Ourobouros dragon, the seven guardians are it's direct descendants, they are the destruction dragon, the elements dragon, the samsara dragon, the karma dragon, the supreme dragon, the chaos dragon and the last is the..." The Sage Dragon was immediately interrupted by Felix.
"Are there other ranks above the SSS+ rank?" Felix suddenly asked out of the blue.
"Hmm, do you mean the peak of the Mortal Realm?" The Sage Dragon asked.
"Peak of the mortal realm?, wait how many realms do we have?" Felix asked with shock, the SSS+ rank that he thought to be strong wasn't the peak.
'Maybe the Mortal Realm is a major realm or something' Felix thought to console himself.
"There are 10 realms with the mortal realm being the lowest and the immortal realm being the highest" The Sage Dragon answered.
"The Mortal Realm is the lowest.." Felix muttered with unwillingness, he looked like he had aged a 10 years, only now did he realize that he didn't even deserve to be called a frog in a well, he should be called an ant instead, he just truly realized how big the world truly was.
RUMBLES
"What was that?" Felix asked as the void started shaking for a moment before it stopped.
"I am not as strong as I used to be, so I can't manage this dimension for long" The Sage Dragon explained with a light laugh.
"What happened to you?" Felix asked with pity.
"As I said after the great war, we dragons retreated but we didn't do it for nothing, did you think that the Phoenix race were so weak, hahaha" The Sage Dragon said with a laugh.
"Yeah you are right, from my knowledge Phoenixes were supposed to be immortal right?" Felix answered with a look of realization.
"Right on spot, the reason the demons were able to massacre the Phoenix race because they had a great artifact which I am sure you know nothing about, just know that it is powerful, very powerful" The Sage Dragon said.
"In the great war, I was injured with several of my counterparts, I came here with the intention of finding somethings that can help me but I didn't find anything so I was forced to go into seclusion, I have been here for so long that I don't know how much time has passed" The Sage Dragon further explained.
"Is there anything that I can do to help?" Felix asked with a sad expression.
"I don't think you can do anything for me, I am so weak that someone like you was able to nullify my Bloodline Congealment Technique, at this rate, I won't last for much longer but please I have a favor to ask of you" The Dragon Sage said with a grin.
"If It is within my power I promise to help you" Felix said with determination, within this short time that he had been here with the Sage Dragon, he had developed a certain connection with it.
"I would like you to take my legacy, I don't want the legacy of the Sage Dragon to end with me, can you do this for me?" The Sage Dragon asked with a sad smile.
"Am I worthy enough?" Felix asked with a sign, after the last battle, he had begun to doubt himself.
