Chapter 2: Prologue
Pounding. Running. Screaming.
"Take my baby!" she screams.
"Where?"
"Anywhere. Don't let anyone find him" More desperate now.
More screams fill the castle. The smell of smoke and blood fills the air. Her vision was right. She knew it and no one listened.
"Your highness! Come with me! We need to get you out!"
She turns to face the man holding her baby, a sad smile on her face. "I cannot abandon him. it's my duty to fight till the end"
She unsheathes her sword as the man races away. Her baby will be safe, and when he's older he will rise above anyone who looks down on him.
Her face damp with tears, she runs towards the fighting. She wouldn't make it out alive. She knew that. Her powers seep out, freezing the sword, yet making it a deadlier weapon.
Cutting the head off one of the invaders and stabbing another, she fights till her death, knowing that her child was safe and Queen Ember and King Tobias will live.
