Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Before it all Went Wrong

Jacob Trennings was your ordinary, run of the mill kind of guy. At 24 years old, he stood at 5'10", was conventionally attractive but also not attractive enough to garner attention, and lived his life in relative peace. He had brown shaggy hair that reached his cheekbones and brown round eyes. In all honesty, he would never truly stand out in a crowd of people, instead fading off into the background.

The only unordinary part about him was who his parents were. His mother, Elena Trennings was the CEO of the largest entertainment company in California, while his father, Steven Trennings was a famed movie director. With fame however came misfortune in terms of his childhood. His parents were constantly busy, despite how much they loved him, and it wasn't out of the ordinary for them to sometimes forget to feed him. This led to having a nanny grow up in the household with him.

As a child, it was simply strange that some stranger would be raising him instead of his own parents and he held a tinge of resentment for a bit. It wasn't until he got older that he realized how much they sacrificed for him.

His nanny was a one of a kind woman who raised him as if she were his own and he was glad to have been risen by not one, but two strong females who owned the world in their own way. His nanny, Heather, grew up in poverty as a child and struggled to really find a place for herself in the world, but she never gave up. She worked twice as hard to gain scholarships and opportunities to relieve her parents of any financial struggles and managed to work as a preschool teacher, a dream she had held for a long time.

She came to work for his family when the 2008 market crash occurred as her employer had no choice but to make some drastic cuts. Thanks to her background in working with children, his parents thought she would be a perfect fit for him and surprisingly, she was. Heather had a younger sister she raised in place of her parents who worked tiresome hours.

Despite Heather's best efforts, Jacob could be described as a bit of a wild child during both his elementary and middle school years. He often got in trouble simply because he wanted his parents to pay more attention to him, nor did he truly get outstanding grades. Another issue was that Jacob was a bit of a loner, yes he had friends but they never really made him feel included per say.

Throughout high school, Jacob somewhat improved. He tried a bit harder in school and acted more withdrawn as he realized his acting out only really made trouble for his parents. He made a few good friends and learned to become a bit more independent. He only felt slightly disconnected from his friends at the time because he did not really want to introduce his parents or have them come over to his place.

First of all, his parents lived far more modestly than those of their stature. They believed in practicality over spending millions of dollars on a home for 4 people. Secondly, he was scared that his friends would latch onto him for money because sometimes, greed simply triumphs depending on the person. He knew he should have had more confidence in his friends but it was easy to be consumed by irrational fears. Lastly, Jacob had an issue with finding a passion for anything really. He could clearly remember discussing that with his therapist and they simply informed him that he had yet to truly find what brought him joy.

Luckily, that's exactly what happened when he got into Ohio State University. He found his passion through a class on entertainment management and aimed for his FEEM (Festivals, Events, and Entertainment Management) certificate. Like mother, like son. He was technically the heir to his mother's company but she never pressured him into that role and let him follow his dreams.

It also led him to one of the most beautiful person in the world, at least to him.
