Chapter 2: Episode 2

As usual my alarm went blaring in my ears and i did my routine. After namaaz i went to rowing rather than gym. Rowing the boat was one of my favourites too and ya don't forget about football.

Sun was slowly rising and I pushed my boat in to the water and started rowing. After an hour i was all done for today. I went back to home only to find Amber sitting on the sofa. Seeing me coming she just dazed out or I must say she was checking me out. What is wrong with girls now a days? I cleared my throat to which her gaze snapped on to my face.

"Good morning Mr. Mallick." She greeted.

"Good morning. What bring you at my home?" I inquired keeping my workout bag on the table. I turned towards the table to get a glass of water when suddenly she just barged in and took the glass filling in the water. I was irritated at this because i don't like anyone behaving like this neither disturbing in my work. I so much wanted to shout at that as her behaviour now a days was becoming irritating.

She gave me the glass of water which i took glaring at her.

"You didnt replied me? Why are you here??" I asked sternly.'

"Hmm..sir.. i mean Mr. Mallick i came to give you this file." She replied shoving a file in my direction.

"Seriously this could have been done when i was in the office. You didnt had to come over here." I answered while taking the file from here and going through it.

"It needs your signatures." She told as she sat back on the sofa. After going through the contents i signed the file and she left with it.

After the board meeting got over i went down in the cafeteria as i was hungry. Ordering myself a plate of white beans curry, rice and some salad i sat on the chair when my phone started buzzing.

"Asalamualaikum bhai." Firadus greeted.

"Walekumasalam Firdaus, how are you?" I replied while the waiter kept glasses and water on the table.

"Alhamdullila bhai. How are you? Hows ammi, abbu?" She inquired , i can hear from the other side that she was with some one.

"Alhamdullila Firdaus all are good. Hows Asad and everyone out there?" I asked as i drank some water. I could hear some buzzing from the other line.

"Alhamdulilla he is good as well as all are. I call- 'Ammi and Firadus appi i am going out with my friends. Allah hafiz.'

'Elnaz wait..atleast have something.'

'No ammi please iam getting late. I will see you soon. Bye bye. Allah hafiz'." She stopped talking when I heard Jannat aunty's and Elnaz's voice. I was hearing her voice after such along time. Ever so after i started handling my business i got busy with it, so i didn't had the time to go to India or meet anyone.

"Bhai.. are you there? Hello?" Firdaus checked to which i replied her in a yes.

"Sorry bhai actually i was in the kitchen. I wanted to tell you something." She said while the waiter started setting plates and dishes.

"Yeah go ahead sister."

"Actually i wanted to tell you that Elnaz is coming to California to get her intern done in business management. Abbu ( rehan) told Dad ( zayn) that he would let her in the company and she would be doing internship under him." She spoke.

"What?" I asked as i got little stunned hearing the news.

"What what! I told you bhai that Elnaz is coming there for her internship. I wanted to tell you that don't mess with my sister-in-law." She teased me as i was still not able to come up with her news on the top of it she was there teasing me but what for?

"Are you in your senses sister or that girl has knocked some left out senses from your mind? Why are you teasing me? And why would i mess with her?" I replied sarcastically while having my food.

"No bhai iam totally fine. But it seems that you are not well now a days. Iam not teasing you i was just warning you. Hahaha" she chuckled.

"Whatever . Anything else?" I asked.

"Nothing bhai. Take care. Khudahafiz."

"You too. Khudahafiz." And we ended the call.

Elnaz in California and that to doing internship under this company under abbu. To top it off half of the time abbu is not present in the office. Elnaz roaming in this office would be a total distraction. Don't know that girl is a total distraction. Her acts, her childishness just amazes me. No it doesn't amazes me but stuns me.

Elnaz's pov

"Aren't you suppose to be doing your packing now?" Firdaus said while she saw Elnaz startled at her intruding.

"Ha! So now there you go! Again netflix. You know i should go and complain about it to mom. Wait." Firdaus bleated as she turned around to leave the room.

"Bhabhi. No. Wait. You know na, that the episode updates now at this time." Elnaz protested.

"Ya i know but you are suppose to leave day after tomorrow and yet you have not started packing and then you will stress about it tomorrow." Firdaus expressed her concern as she comforted herself on the bed.

"Yeah bhabhi. I know. Sorry. Now i will start packing now." Elnaz expressed her regret as she made puppy face in front of her.

"No. Not right now. First come and eat dinner. Everyone are waiting outside. Lets go." Firdaus replied as she got up and pulled Elnaz from the bed.

"This house won't seem like house if you are not here." Told Zayn to his daughter as he sorted her books in an order in the bag. Who would have thought that a mafia man could be so soft at other side.

"Ohh papa! Its just a matter of time." Elnaz wailed while serching through her closet.

"Right! Its a whole year for Allah's sake." He groaned.

"Right dear. One year but one day or the other she will have to go, remember what i told you that if she gets married.. remember?" Jannat prodded as she stood near the door.

"Ohh please Jannat! Elnaz will not marry anyone." Zayn replied hastily eyeing his wife with a annoyed expression.

"Thats what you think Zayn! But one day her prince charming is going to take her away." Jannat persisted.

"Mama, papa i am still here and its me who you Re talking about." Elnaz said as she folded her hands while her father hung her head loosely at which his wife slowly rubbed his shoulders understanding his emotions. Seeing this scene Elnaz threw away her belongings and hugged them tightly.

It seemed as if she was going forever. Why do girls have to be so emotional? Arrgh. She can never imagine her life without them then how was she supposed to live for a whole forsaken year without seeing them, she thought.

"I will miss you mum and dad." She whispered.
