Chapter 150: Do you have a name?
Unlike Nicola, who has the bloodline of two powerful races and would take many levels to reach the top of both, Tiane has a human and genasi lineage from the land. Powerful, yet it doesn't take much time to develop, as it strengthened its lineage it became even closer to a pure-blooded genasi, its dark skin became even more brown and now, some yellow patterns formed over it, like tattoos symbolizing its connection with the earth element. Her amber eyes became even more luminous and her black hair was streaked with earthy tones.
Specializing only in defensive equipment, Tiane was not far behind Nicola in the forge. Her defensives equipments were even better than his ones, as another prodigy student of the Six Rings Academy Tiane was soon accepted by another master blacksmith at the gold level as well.
The beautiful dress she wore was built by her using a technique that she created, which would imitate the fabric without losing its defensive qualities, shields, armor and masks were a surprise at each creation.
She then approached the table and sat down next to Nicola, delivering a closed letter that gave off a yellowish glow. "This letter was written by me using a genasi energy signature technique, just so they can be sure that you are the right person. My family lives in the fairy forest near the country's border with the Avec Kingdom, maybe there you will find what search." She smiled before turning to the two teenagers across the table, throwing two objects at them.
There were two masks in the shape of a fox heads, very similar to those that Nicola remembered back to Earth in Japanese culture. Kin's was white with red and gold marks and Gin's was black with blue and silver accents. Although the two don't know many people around, Nicola's closest friends were still in contact with the two 'siblings'.
A gift that Nicola knew to possess very powerful defensive abilities and would be extremely important for the brothers in the near future.
"Thanks for everything Tiane" Nicola said shaking his hand across the table.
After dinner, the night passed between toasts and conversations, Nicola smiled with joy hoping someday in the future to see these companions again.
The week passed quickly and soon the day of Nicola's departure arrived.
Careful Nicola used his demon servants to spread around the trio, the city of Jambel was large and busy. Without having to hide his form, Nicola walked freely through the streets with the two teenagers and the wisp floating around them. The market was bubbling with people as usual, clothes, stones and metals were placed in stalls for sale.
Nicola got used to the slaves offered for sale. As he passed a tent Nicola found something that piqued his interest, a big slave, taller than himself, had no legs but a long snake tail from the waist down. Her skin had yellow scales and her hair was made of snakes of the same color.
"How much does this slave cost?" Nicola asked as he pointed at the woman.
Upon hearing this question, the salesman approached smiling, however when he saw to where Nicola was pointing he was a little surprised, the gorgon slave was also amazed by those words widening her green eyes and letting its forked tongue appear between her lips. However, the salesman soon regained his composure and answered Mara Nicola, who did not fail to notice their reaction.
"It costs two hundred gold coins, young master" He replied.
Nicola narrowed his eyes as he asked again, releasing some of his aura directed at the salesman. "What was the reason you look like was surprised when I asked you, is there something wrong with her?"
"No way, young master" The man replied quickly nodding his head. "Only that even though she has been here for so long, no customer wanted to buy her because she considered her unattractive, which is usually sought after by slaves, don't worry, she is in good condition to fulfill any order or ordered service. I can even give a twenty percent discount on the sale as a gift to a new customer."
It seems that the imperial aura released by Nicola was too efficient, making him able to buy the serpent woman for just one hundred and sixty gold coins. Soon the master-servant contract was signed by both parties and a large yellow snake joined the back of Nicola's group as they walked out of town.
"Do you have a name?" Nicola asked her.
