Chapter 1: Prologue
Firenze, 1796
I was born, raised and trained to kill.
I didn't choose this life, it chose me. But what other option do you have when your family's honor is depending on it?
I do not want to bring shame to my family's name. Not only would that make them suffer, but it would be bad for me as well, for father will not tolerate this.
The only thing I can do? Accept my heritage, even if at first I do not want to.
I have grown to like this life. It's a good life I lead, and I hope it stays this way.
I am now 18 years old and already a deadly killer. Everyone who knows me, is either my friend, either an acquaintance, being too scared to call themselves my enemy.
While other people my age waste their time on things I haven't even tried yet, I spend all my days training in fighting and climbing, aspiring to become better every single day.
So that maybe some day, I will become the leader of The Black Warden.
