Chapter 6: Chapter 5: One Call Way

We were too busy testing our blood with silver and it was taking so much time which led us to not talking to each other. But honestly, her blood was too intoxicating and it's invading my nostril really well to the point of making me lose control over my thirst. Honestly, it wasn't helping at all.

"Tense again?" Mirna wondered which made me suddenly looked-out at her from the microscope.

"Huh, what?" I caught my words into my throat in a gulp.

"I mean, you're tense all of the sudden and your eyes changing colors from blue-grey to mauve-grey. That's why I can tell." I almost choked when I heard her said about my eyes which I didn't even realize that my eyes turning into a mauve-grey.

"What are you saying?" I wondered since I never thought my eyes would shift into different colors. I mean, my eyes only turned into a bright deep shade of blue and not a mauve one.

"Well, your eyes were totally deep blue-grey but seriously, it's turning to mauve-grey." Mirna seriously cupped my face and stared deeply into my eyes. I don't want to look but I am totally lost in her eyes and I noticed that she's smiling at me.

"There it is. Beautiful." Mirna smiled at me but she smiled reminded me of my dream. I was a child when I had that one dream that kept showing up. But of course, I have to sneeze as her scent invaded my nostril again.

"Argh, sorry." I quickly apologized to her.

"No, it's okay. It's cute." She nodded as she smiles at me.

"No, I'm not cute, I'm stunning." I countered that made her giggle.

"Funny but true." She commented before I glanced at her.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes away and went my focus to our sudden private research.

Being busy with our private and sudden research with our very own blood over this FRSil project, we both didn't even realize that the night and time went really fast since it was already eleven. I took some stretch over my neck, shoulders, and arms that kept checking the microscope for any reactions that we're been looking for.

"Elrisha..." Mirna suddenly spoke and broke the ice around us.

"Yes, what is it?" I wanted to yawn but I can't so, I just sneezed instead.

"I think I've got it." She guessed which made me knotted my eyebrows.

"You think?" I asked since I wanted for her to be precise about what she was saying to me.

"Fine. Here take a look." Mirna sigh before turning the microscope that she's been using to me.

"Explain." I checked.

"Alright, I took a quarter of my blood and half silver which have the same result as yours but the only difference was that the reaction that I've got was really making the silver gone wild. I mean, the silver over my blood is indeed mixing with my blood so rapidly compare to yours." She explained exactly what I am seeing through the microscope.

"Mine, took its time to mix with the silver. Fire and ice; sun and moon…" I mumbled but it's not low enough for her not to hear it.

"Fire and ice might be the right comparison. And I think…well, it'll be sound crazy again if I say, we should mix our own blood together before adding the silver since my blood has its rapid effect while yours wasn't." She suggested which made me thought about it for a while before sighing.

"Good thing we're both crazy. Let's make another quarter of each blood than a whole of silver. Hopefully, my math is right." I agreed since there's no right or wrong over any experiment since everything was hypothetical until you've got the answer that you've been looking for.

I let Mirna do the mixing of the blood which made me check at the microscope if our blood were totally joined together before mixing with silver. I honestly, couldn't believe that our blood has its high percentage of being joined together. After confirming it, I immediately handed Mirna notes about our blood and added them to the Erlenmeyer flask that was already contained enough volume of liquid silver. Through that mixture, slowly but not too slow, the reaction was really astonishing one. It's the perfect mix and the only thing left over the process was trial and error over animals before testing to humans – creatures like me.

"Let's take this to wrap and you know the drill…" I said as we saw the reaction that we've been looking for.

"Right, I'll go home well, more one party since Diane from Chem. Lab 2 asked me to come since it's her last day in that department." Mirna told me her plan tonight.

"Oh, right. Okay, be careful then since it's already 11." I reminded her even in my guts telling me not to let her go there but I know to myself I am not in that position, yet – I guess.

Anyway, as soon she left that lab, I quickly cleaned up in the lab before going home since I need some time to rest. It was already midnight and I was driving my Ducati motorbike on the way home while letting some song played over my earphone from my iPod when my cellphone rang. I let my motorbike halted on the layby of the road and check who was it and it was an unknown number. I wanted to ignore it but there it goes again which made me answer.

"Cross speaking, who was this?" I answered in my neutral tone yet I've kinda had a feeling I knew who's calling me now.

'Lady Boss, this is Diane McGwen, I'm here at CSquare and I need help with Mirna. She's drunk and won't like to go home yet. All of our peers go some other places and god, please, she'll be taken advantage if things escalated.'

"I'm on my way." I quickly maneuvered my motorbike and drove to the disco bar that Diane told me. It wasn't that far from our research laboratory but it's not walking distance unless you prefer to walk for thirty minutes.

I heard One Call Way by Charlie Puth playing over my playlist and it was indeed was happening to me right now. I am driving like a madman in a rush as I didn't care about the rules over the road. Anyway, who's going to catch me if I can't be caught?

As soon as I got over the disco bar of CSquare, everything was too loud with heard dropping music that invading your ears. The people inside were having such a blast and fun while they didn't care about anything as they flirt or fool around with any stranger that their eyes landed on. But I didn't care about them aside from finding where's Diane McGwen.

"Lady Boss, here!" I heard the same voice from an unknown caller which made my head turned to look where it was coming and I saw a young lady waving her hand to me.

"Where is she?" I asked as I reached her spot over the bar area since it wasn't that crowded.

"There." Diane pointed where the person we're worrying about.

Mirna

I was getting really drunk and high over the alcohol in my system but I still knew that these men caught interest in me which I don't care about at all. I just wanted to take the stress that kept building up inside of me. I am stress being with my boss. Anyway, I kept dancing like I don't care about the world and I don't care these men kept me company on the dance floor. I'm just losing myself over the rhythm of the pumping music echoing through my ears with also the help of the alcohol. But throughout those dancing, I suddenly felt shivers which a sudden glimpse of that kiss came up rushing through my mind. I don't mind these pair of arms wrapped possessively around my waist because I sensed safety and comfort from them.

"Mine. Beloved." As I heard that sweet and loving whispered to my ears, I can't help but shiver and smiled to myself. I pulled my hands away from her before turning myself to her as I can't stop my smile turned into a gladly smile.

"And I am all yours." I whispered back and slowly leaning to get those lips against mine once again.

As soon our lips touched, sparks really sent millions or more hot sensations that our supposed to be a peck turned into the same kiss we did on that fateful night of dare. I longed for that same kiss from her, my boss, the CEO, Elrisha Cross.

"Mir, let's get you home. You stink." She whispered after she pulled away from our kiss since if she didn't, we won't be able to stop and when it does, it'll just lead to another.

"I know. But your lips…the kiss…our kiss…I couldn't forget them, Elrisha." I pouted but I am the same as her. I don't want that to be any drunken mistake.

"I know same here." She smiled as she pulled me away from the dance floor and went to Diane's spot which I totally forgot that she's still here with me. How thoughtful of her.

"Diane, we're cool here. I'll take her with me." She told Diane who's smiling from ear to ear. She knew something and of course, I know that smile. She wanted a juicy story about this turn of events tomorrow if I don't have any hangovers.

"Okay, I'm also about to go home with my partner, and thank you, lady boss." Diane was totally not just sounded thankful but excited since she just winked on my way. I don't want to comment on it since I don't trust my words right now. I just want to rest and be with her – shush me!
