Chapter 19: 18) The One!....
(A/N: A little early)
They had finished last night around 10pm which is what they predicted it was also why when they came out they found, Alice and the gang alone with Nissy with a party set up. They all knew Rosalie was leaving tomorrow with them and didn't know when they would see her again so Alice was going all out, even if it was just them.
Rosalie was smiling from ear to ear the whole night, Cory walked over and kissed her on the cheek, "Go ahead and spend the rest of the night with them, we will be gone for awhile so you should spend as much time with them as possible. I'm going to go ahead and put Artemis in bed."
"Thank you." she gave him a deep kiss and grateful smile, this was going to be her first time in not with them in the past seventy years. (A/N: I'm going with it being the year 2013 and she got changed in 1933.)
Cory walked over and picked up the tired Artemis who kept rubbing her eyes while also eating cake, he took it from her and she was so tired she didn't even notice but tried to get more. He laughed and picked her up not even thirty seconds later and she was asleep with her head on his shoulder, Nissy already told him that her bed was ready so he took her to it.
She could bathe in the morning she was to tired for anything else at the moment so he wasn't going to wake her up just to make her take one. He was tired himself though and walked into the bathroom steam filled the place from the giant 'bath' which was honestly just a shallow pool.
He stripped himself and took a quick shower washing away the blood from his body and cleaning himself before getting into the pool. After settling in he let out a sigh of relief and closed his eyes relaxing in the pool, he thought about the past year and let out a small smile.
This year he had learned so much and while also growing stronger he gained so much more knowledge, he now knew about the world more and was happy it wasn't just Twilight. He also enjoyed the fact that he was a pure-blood wizard even if they were going to be seen as blood traitors as least he didn't need to deal with the bigotry.
He let his mind wander to his new little family, it was already guaranteed that he was going to marry Rosalie but he was going to wait until the end of his Hogwarts's year that way no more school. He thought about Artemis who was sudden in their life but was their daughter none the less making him smile, his parents might not show it around them but they spoiled the girl.
Thinking about it this was enough for him but he also wanted to see all of the world he didn't want to just experience the stories he wanted to be apart of them all that showed up. Even if it was just Twilight and Harry Potter the next couple of years would be interesting filled with fights.
Then he had who knows who to thank for his powers from Solo Leveling since it made his life much more, he didn't want to be a god or anything but the increase in power would help him never have to worry. He opened his eyes and smiled seeing the new messages he had gotten after leveling up to level 101, it was what he was waiting for.
[Shadow Exchange: Change places with any active shadow to move instantly in their place. Cool Down Time: 1 hour.]
[Monarch's Hands: A form of telekinesis with the hands. Able to help manipulate mana that isn't the users own.]
[Longevity- Permanent effect. All diseases, poisons and status effects are healed, and sleeping will explosively increase regeneration ability.]
[Will to Rehabilitate- Any dismembered body parts are restored. Can be used on others, but will cost a huge amount of mana depending on the body part.]
These were all the things he was waiting for and thought that they would never come he knew though that they would become available at a certain level but he thought that was well off. Now though these were all helpful and made him a lot stronger along with the Skills he already had he wouldn't need to worry about his fights again, but he would also use them to help his family grow stronger.
It was lonely at the top so why should he be there alone the road to growing stronger is never meant to be something someone did alone. If there was someone who grew on their own without at least thinking of their loved ones then they were no worse than the stupid protagonist from novels who tried to reach the top.
Eventually everyone reaches a peak that they can't bring down but Cory knew that with numbers that peak would never happen to him and his family they could soar, it would help if he could stay out of godhood though. While thinking this he thought it was time to get out the bath his hands and feet were getting all wrinkled anyway, Nissy left his clothes out for him.
When he was dressed and walking back to his bed for the night a black rip in space opened up dragging him in, time seemed to freeze as he was pulled in no one could stop it. Cory thought it was all over and closed his eyes accepting death with a single tear going down his cheek, after awhile though he didn't feel anything and opened his eyes.
Looking around he was inside an apartment, it looked familiar too it didn't take long before he knew that it was his old apartment from his past life. The place was run down and it was in a neighborhood that was better nuked then left standing if the drug addict in the corner of the room rocking was anything to go by.
On a single couch in the living room was his past body blood soaking the couch and floor with a knife stabbed into his chest, huh? so that was how he died. He didn't have to wait long before a woman with midnight black hair stood next to him looking at the same scene as him.
"Are you enjoying yourself child?" she asked looking at his body, he didn't look away either he felt if he looked at her he would die.
"Yes, my new life is better and I have people who love me now." he said a smile over his lips.
"That's good. We don't have much time so I will be quick about this, don't worry about reaching godhood or whatever I gave you this new life for you to have fun and live with your family. Do anything you please the biggest challenge you will ever face is someone who is just strong enough to actually give you a challenge. This life is for all purposes for your enjoyment though." She said while reaching over and caressing his head, he could feel love coming off of her as she did it.
"Why me?"
"No special reason I just felt like it. From now on just know that your life is for you and the only thing short of killing yourself then you would be alive forever. I only came to tell you to have fun, no go off and enjoy your life don't worry about someone coming after you who is a god because that wont happen." after her last statement he felt many eyes on him from beings he didn't know how strong but she let out an oppressive aura that made them all shiver before they left.
Cory smiled and when he blinked he was standing in front of his bed, he didn't get to ask her who she was but he felt like she didn't want him to either. Knowing that someone wouldn't come mess with his life made him happy though it was something that was always in the back of his mind.
Also knowing that his powers wouldn't suddenly be taken because he failed at something was helpful, he would be lying if he said he wasn't a little dependent on them. Who wouldn't be though he has had them since he was five so it was just something he always had with him, it would be like losing his eyes permanently.
He slid into bed and finished reading a French language book setting it next to a Bulgarian one, since these were the two schools who would be there this year he decided to learn them. Like his mom and dad since they increased their wisdom stat it increased their learning speed by a lot, intelligence helped them gain more mana though.
He went to bed before Rosalie came back but she didn't anyway instead her and Alice along with the rest went out together for the entire night. She didn't make it back until the next morning but he was till in bed their flight wasn't until noon so they weren't in a hurry.
