Chapter 3: One

'Ahhh.... I remember everything now...'

The young lad aged 3 years old stared at his room's familiar ceiling as he pondered the new found information inside his head.

'Reincarnation, huh.'

Kawlan had just found out that he had reincarnated as he remembered the memories of his past life. He quickly arranged his thoughts in a calm manner as he had scrunched his face in seriousness using an expression that a child his age should not have.

'Who would have thought that a fall from a tree could result in me remembering everything....? I should've just hit my head earlier when I was younger..... wait... hitting my head when I'm only just a year old may cause me to be mentally disabled so I guess this age for me is the most ideal time to hit my head.'

This current world of his, compared to his past life was vastly different. His current world is magical... in the most literal sense, there was magic or what people here would refer to as Mahika. With the use of mahika people are able to wield powers such as fire, water, earth, air, thunder and the like. His former world in comparison paled in comparison for it was filled with pollution and crowded people rushing towards their busy lifestyle with a few supernatural dealings here and there. In his former life he was trained to be the next head of his Family clan, per tradition, but before he could sit as head he was poisoned to death. Kawlan already had a vague idea as to who the perpetuators were but nothing could be done since he was already dead.... or at least in his former life.

Putting two and two together Kawlan could immediately spot some familiarities with his current world. The power known as mahika, The Royalty System of Schools, The bright hair colors of the people..... All was similar to the settings of the last book he read before he passed away. However, the biggest give away was that he himself or more like his current identity, was a small character within the book who was written in passing and whose only purpose was to be the protagonist's ladder for improvement, Kawlan Kudaman.

'Sigh.'

The young child let out a large sigh as he massaged his aching forehead with his fingers.

'This is all too cliché that it's not even funny…..wait..... if I reincarnated then are my contractors still with me?'

Kawlan thought and so he hastily stepped down from his bed and walked towards the window and peeled his curtains open to test out his theory. Warm sunlight hit his small body frame and projected an elongated dark shadow upon his floor. Kawlan kneeled to the floor in one knee and touched his shadow. He then closed his eyes and he activated his third eye to look inside his shadow.

'My friends, I call upon thee.' He called deeply hoping that he'll receive a response.

Kawlan closed his eyes tighter and proceeded to search his shadow as he dug and dug with the use of his third eye searching and searching for a hint of his comrades presence.

'If I am here then they must be as well since we are linked through soul contract.'

Beads of sweat formed upon the poor child's face and his face visibly paled at a fast rate but still Kawlan endured.

'A little deeper. A bit more. They're here. I'm sure of it.' He was determined to continue his search even if he felt his energy get drained.

Kawlan's small body trembled in pain and so he gritted his teeth to retain his current actions.

Deeper.

And deeper.

'Where are you guys?'

Deeper.

Deeper.

'I know you're here!'

Deeper.

Then finally he could sense it.

'One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven!'

He felt seven presences!

'It's faint but it's there!'

Kawlan's ghastly pale face was horrifying to look at but he had on the most joyful smile he had ever had.

'I knew that they were here!'

A small smile slowly creeped onto the young child's face, he was unaware that he looked incredibly childlike at the moment. He opened his tired eyes and he lay down on the ground in exhaustion. The light from the window blinded him but he didn't care as he bathed in it in silence. He wasn't fond of the sun but for now he didn't care since his current mood was at an all-time high.

'They seem to have grown weak. I guess I'll have to feed them a cursed artifact to gain the strength they need so that they can awaken themselves from their slumber.' Kawlan thought. 'It's okay my friends. I will definitely awaken you!'

The determined Kawlan pondered about what may happen and the steps he needed to take for the completion of his friend's awakening.

'But still this is troublesome..... When I used my third eye I noticed that it wasn't as strong as it originally was in my former life.'

Kawlan held up his right hand and touched his right eye that was now throbbing in pain.

'Is my current body incompatible with my third eye? Or maybe it's because my current body is that of a 3 year old child's? This is troublesome. If only Kuya Puhak were here I could've asked him. Oh well. For now I'll just do what I can to awaken all seven of them.'

(A/N: Kuya means older brother in the Philippines. People add Kuya in front of an older males name as a sign of respect and also closeness. It's similar to Nii-San in Japanese and Hyung in Korean. )
