Chapter 52: The First Stand Appears
Freddy didnt know what a stand was, so he simply ignored Raijin and continued to stare at the now not dead Xeno. He had gotten so angry when he had thought his friend was dead. Now that he know that it was a trap for Asami to walk into, he was both relieved and angry at the same time. He didnt know how to deal with anger, so he decided to try to beat Asami up. He walked toward her slowly while his hands began to change slowly to look more like a sword.
He still had his parasytic ability to change his form like Asami did, but it was significantly weakened. The only Raijin could think of for this happening is that the mind control hamon technique was fusing his body together into one being instead of multiple like it was before. He didnt know how this was happening, but that was the only reason he could think of. Although he has lost significant power in the ability, he can still use it, and the benefit of it is that he now has better hamon control, and his body is many times stronger then before.
Before Freddy could reach her, Raijin was in front of him again starring at him. "Ignore her, she isn't going anywhere. Tell me, how did you get a stand?"
Raijin of course couldn't actually see the stand, but he knew it was there. Stands are explained to be a ghostly ripple, which hint to it being a form of hamon. Hamon could be more considered the physical life energy, this was why normal people could see it, while stands are the spiritual life energy. However, they are both life energy, just taking different forms.
As a powerful hamon user that could be considered a master in comparison to the ones in the show, Raijin had a powerful connection to his own life force. And just as a powerful stand user could probably easily learn hamon, it was possible for Raijin to detect the stand.
As for the reason as to why he is ignoring Asami despite him missing her and falling into depression after losing her. The reason for that is that he knows that she isn't Asami anymore. She was taken over by a parasyte and no longer was herself. And although he was desperate for companionship and felt extremely sad seeing her face again, he knew that she was probably a lost cause. The only way he could think of to get Asami back was to look into researching souls and ghosts, which he knew existed in JoJo.
"Seriously, I don't know how you did this but it is weirdly intimidating. I guess stands are real." Raijin then started to circle the still baffled Freddy while checking out his stand aura. "This is weird, I cant see the stand, but I can see the stand aura? Strange."
'Ill just have to tell Xeno about stands and explain this to him later, he will figure it out.' Raijin thought in his head while he glanced over at Xeno, who was now standing over Asami arrogantly.
Asami knew she had no way of running or fighting the second Raijin arrived. She already knew she was pretty fucked after Freddy showed his strength by breaking the air, however she still thought she would be able to run away. Now however, she had nothing she could do but sit and wait for Raijin to do something.
"I wonder how high up on that pedestal of yours now that you got the shit beaten out of you. That was truly an elegant fight, I wish I could have observed it some more to take notes out he effects of hamon on a bear. Oh well, at least I now have you to study." Xeno said as he put his hand over his face and left open a small gap for his eyes to see through. Normally this would look ridiculous for a grown man to do, but as everything here is in the JoJo art style, everything that happens instead looks overly dramatic.
"Leave her alone Xeno, come here and apologize to my bear for making him this angry." Raijin demanded, then looked back at Freddy. "Oh yeah, how the hell did you get emotions as well? I also haven't used the mind control on you since you left to hunt a week ago, I thought that was stupid of me but I guess it didnt have an effect as you aren't trying to kill us. What the hell happened to you in the forest Freddy?"
Raijin became more and more confused as he noticed more and more changes. He secretly noted to himself that he needed to start paying more attention to his companion.
"Nevermind all of that for now, I need you two to get her back to the castle. I need to study her. I never had a parasytic human subject to research before, this could help my research in these things advice by decades in comparison to using dead animal ones." Xeno said as he called Freddy and Raijin over.
Asami sat there starring at them for a while in confusion and in hopes of picking up their language. She needed to figure out how to get out of this situation and fast, otherwise she knows that she will regret it. She decided that she was either going to escape now, or die, and she knew she didnt have any other option, at least not one she liked, not that she liked either of those.
Her hamon once again ignited as she didnt hesitate and sent a tentacle of hamon straight at Raijin. She knew that it would only give her a few seconds before he would kill her, so she needed to run away immediately after it hit him.
The tentacle shot right at his back and Asami got ready to turn around and run however she found that she got stuck the second she tried to move. She turned back only to see her tentacle hadn't even reached him and that it was being held just a few inches away from his heart. It was just like what happened with Freddy, however this time she could see it. It was some type of transparent golden figure. It was full of sparks and in a strange shape.
Upon closer inspection, she found that it was a violin bow. It had stopped her tentacle initially by canceling the force and blocking it, however before she could retract it, Raijin used attractive hamon, which stuck her tentacle to the end of the bow. She tried to pull her tentacle away frantically and started to panic as she found that it didnt budge at all.
(Now that we are getting into stands and very powerful hamon the parasytes are no longer going to be a threat. This was inevitably going to happen anyway as parasytes could never hope to compare to strong hamon users, pillar men, vampires, or stands. They were there in the first place as an intermission like enemy for Raijin so that he has something to do until Senku arrived, so now they will be very secondary. You will still be seeing them now and then, however they wont matter much anymore.)
Raijin turned around and starred at her with pain in his eyes. He really didnt want to hurt her, and yet she was doing stupid things like this. "Please stop, I haven't fought anyone in a while and I certainly haven't done it with my current power. If you do that again, I might accidentally kill you."
He then turned back to Xeno and Freddy, and Xeno got curious. "what was that? The golden violin bow." He asked.
"This?" Raijin said as he conjured that hamon bow again. "This is what I have been working on off and on for a while. While I do have this awesome violin here, I obviously cant bring it with me everywhere, that would be to inconvenient. Also, if I brought something like this into battle, it would break very quickly." He then started concentrating more hamon.
"So I figured that it wouldn't be so bad if I could summon it at anytime I wanted. So I started working on this a few months ago." A transparent golden violin then appeared in his hand. "I basically hardened the air in the shape of a violin, then I started to try and change the quality of the hardened air. This didnt work so well at first but I eventually figured it out."
"All I have to do is make short strings of hardened hamon air, then stretch them like you would any other string. After that I make sure it doesn't break and that I did the same thing on the bow. Now when I play using them, it makes a similar sound to a violin, just a little lower pitched. Now I can summon this whenever I want." He started to play it on his shoulder and the sound was even more enchanting then when he used the normal one.
"It sounds better, works much better with Sonic White Overdrive, and it cant be lost or broken, at least not permanently. The draw back for now at least is that I cant use my hamon arm on it. It uses a lot of hamon and almost all of my focus to keep it up, and allowing it to play by itself while floating around me isn't something I am currently capable of doing." He then showed them an example by creating a hamon arm and trying to make it play the violin, and it succeeded! For less then a second at least as it held on for a tenth of a second before both the arm and the violin dispersed.
"That is a fairly useful application of hamon. If you can do this with other things like weapons, clothes or maybe even buildings, you would be able to make basically anything you wanted. I need to look into this some more." Xeno said as he started to think of the possibilities.
"Woah there, slow down. I can barely use a tiny violin right now, let alone a building. I might be able to do a glove or something but since I need to make it out of a fabric like substance, I wont be able to do anything bigger." Raijin stopped him before his imagination could go to crazy.
"That's true, but in the future you will be making truly elegant creations and doing magnificent things with that power of yours, and I will be able to learn to harness it with science, controlling the most efficient and versatile form of energy known to man so far. By the way, what is it called?" Xeno said while avoiding being pulled out of his fantasies.
"I am going to call it Golden Song." Raijin said while thing of a snake. (I wonder how many of you will get that reference.)
