Chapter 6: Clear Sky

Taking his thoughts seriously Tylor went ahead and took a quick look around the surrounding area of the large ruin.

And just like he thought he actuqlly found a car parked on the opposite far corner of the place.

It didnt look like much and was surely old. And taking a look underneath its hood to take a glimpse on its engine didn't make it better.

With a someehat deep frown he started rummaging around the electronics of the car. Luckily nothing major was broken or needed replacement.

An easy starting shock would do the trick after he readjusted everything.

But before he could do that there was an audible click coming from his back that surely made him freeze.

"Hands up slowly where I can see them and move your ass away from my car." A deep rough voice with a clear angery undertone was aimed at him

Tylor only raised his arms up slowly and took a step back away from the car. Someone actually managed to get at his back when he was busy.

Well, he should have checked first if this car belonged someone else and not just assume the chesire bastard would have put it here.

"Didn't think this belonged to someone already. I was just fixing it up." Tylor looked in front of him and only moved his eyes sidways to the ground where he saw the shadow of the person behind him being cast over the sand.

"Yeah, right. Why would I believe some guy reeking of corpo that shit. What did you plant on my car?" The person seemed to be overconfident and had been movin closer to him.

When Tylor's smart vision gave him a go after calculating the distance the other person was away from him through said shadow, his arms suddenly moved in such an unnatural way back and grabbed the shotgun and pulled it back by force.

Now Tylor only turned around and looked at his assailant while the new aquiered shotgun was aimed at the person.

"Fuck...A damn borg..." The guy could only grind gis teeth while starring at the barrel of the shotgun.

But Tylor wasn't going to shoot this poor sod and went back to the car.

"As I said, I wasn't aiming for anything. You being so paranoid about being tracked is your own problem. Makes me wonder what you did to get the wrath of a corporation to be that angsty though. Anyway, give me a lift, will ya? And I will forgive you your rude greeting. How about that?"

The guy that Tylor now idebtified as some nomand still starred at him. He was probably not sure how to take this in now.

"You are just damn suspicious..." the guy said.

"I guess I am. But you being at this ruin isn't exactly less suspicious. I wonder what I could find if I made a deeper sweep of the place?"

Niw the guy frowned. "I only took shelter from a sandstorm..."

"If that is the case, then I did so as well." Tylor smiled at him. He wasn't really buying it. But at the same time he didn't care enough to want to know what this guy stashed in here. "Still need a ride, so we have a deal or not? Not that I would care what your opinion is, really. I could also just take your car and let you chill out here. Your choice. Oh, and I will keep the gun for now."

"Just my fucking luck..." The guy sighed and seemed to give in. "Alright, I will play chaffeur."

Tylor nodded and reached into the hood of the car again and gave it a small shock with his TESLA implant. Then he closed it and walked over to the passenger seat.

The nomad walked over to the driving seat and both sat down.

"Let's see if your work didn't fry the engine..." The guy grumbled and started the engine.

But the smooth way how the engine started to purr suprised the guy. He even looked at Tylor for a shirt moment and saw the shotgun still aimed in his direction.

Obviously Tylor wouldn't let this guy do anything funny. He already gave him enough leeway with his life being spared.

"Where to?" The guy asked.

"Night City." answered Tylor shortly.

"What!? Thats miles away! I don't even have enough fuel for that trip." The guy seemed to be aggitated now.

"You want to tell me you are driving around in the badlands without at least 3 spare jerry cans of fuel? Who are trying to fool?" Tylor raised a brow now and looked at him. "Drive..."

"Shit...Alright, alright, I got it. To Night City it is. But just so you know. Whatever happens, happens." With that said the guy activated a few systems inside the car like the navigational gps to find his orientation and a little bit music.

By the way this guy reacted it seemed like he was already on the blacklist of NC. There were enough guys like that so Tylor didn't bother and would accept the little bit of inconvenience.
