Chapter 129: Be Mine

I am standing a bit away from the bed, still shocked that I held his hand for so long but then nurse Patricia and Ashley walk into the room. I make my way to them and then they let me know that they are leaving. We say our goodbyes and then they close the door.

ZAC

I realize what Amy says is the truth and I know that I am a Captain of a ship and she is a doctor. I know the rules very well because I must know them by heart. But then I also realize something else.

Firstly, we are not on my ship. Secondly, there is no one else around, and thirdly, I will not forgive myself if I let this woman slip through my fingers. I watch her talking to the nurses and I can not help to hear that they are leaving the medical bay.

This just confirms what I was thinking the entire time. If I can only have a few moments alone with her, I will show her that we belong together. I feel my heart starting to race as I realized that we are alone.
