Chapter 3: Immunity

Amelie awoke with a startle, her heart suddenly bursting with energy. "Calm down miss" a man wearing a green suit asked her, "My name is Doctor Gruventa...but you may just call me Doctor Gru" the man said in a thick Italian accent. "I'm just hoping to learn a little bit more about these strange feelings you may have been getting every night...please, explain in full detail" Dr Gru asked.

"Well...I go to sleep everyday to a horrific endless nightmare...and every morning when I wake up, I cannot remember a thing, it turns into faded memories" Amelie explained, "I have been experiencing nausea, coughing up blood, a seizure once or twice, and a constant never-ending migraine" Amelie stated, "Even now...I'm feeling a massive pain in my head...please fix this doc, I don't know what is causing this!!" Amelie cried.

"...I have another patient coming in here with me...this name is Rodrick" Dr Gru said as he motioned towards the door, where a twitchy, seemingly paranoid man walked in and sat down, the man had neat brown hair and was clean-shaven.

"Hello...my name is Rodrick...and I have been experiencing the exact same symptoms as you" Rodrick told Amelie, he constantly looked over his shoulders as he spoke.

"What?! So does this mean you have a way to fix this?!" Amelie asked, "No...otherwise you wouldn't be here right next with me and Rodrick...you and Rodrick are not the only people experiencing such problems, at least a million other people are experiencing these symptoms as well...and you two have not even been seeing the worst of it, some patients have gone insane from all the torture they've endured" Dr Gru explained, "...I was told, Amelie, that you passed out after seeing a bright flash in the sky?" Dr Gru asked her. Amelie gave him a quick nod, she was absolutely shocked about what she was hearing. "...Nearly every single person that's experiencing these pains have told me the same thing...I personally believe this is due to the result of damage to the brain...perhaps something happened recently, maybe an accident, that caused your head to be injured? This will explain the light that you see, it's your mind playing tricks on you...and then you pass out due to your injuries" Dr Gru stated.

"No No!!! But that's not it....every night I look out and I see a small but noticeable shiny object in the sky...it's like the North Star!!! It's up there, almost taunting me, almost like it's guiding me towards it...I just can't help but want to follow it, as if doing so would ease my pain or end my suffering" Amelie told the doctor.

"...How about this...tonight, I will be returning, and you will tell me exactly where this North Star is...does that sound good?" Dr Gru asked. "That sounds perfect!!!" Amelie exclaimed.
