Chapter 2: The Training Ground
Wow.., is this a cave? Edword got exited as the interior looked like a cave made with granite. There was enough light but not too much like noon. Seemed like it was morning. The light reflected on the granite wall made the cave a dream like appearance. It was beautiful but the whole cave seemed empty. Nothing was there but a table. Edword moved towards the table where he found a short sword made of steel like material but it was not heavy. He grabbed the sword and started to move around the cave.
Is this all? There is a sword but no shield or armor. There is no enemy either. This got to be the training ground. But when will the training start? Edword was thinking but couln't get any answer. Why do I feel like I got a useless system? Is it working at all? I was supposed to get help from the system or at-least some information but this damn system is totally useless.
Suddenly a message popped up in-front of him, like a notification in the game screen.
" The training will start within 5 seconds. Prepare yourself. Once the training starts, you can't leave the arena. You will not die but will feel the pain of death. So, don't panic if you get a critical hit. There is no time limit here. You can only leave once you defeat all the enemies and the floor guardians.

What? I can't leave? How long will it take to kill all the enemies? Edword couldn't even finish his thoughts, the next system message popped up " Enemy approaching".
Edword heard a sound and the few doors was already created within the granite wall. One of the door opened and a Gnom like creature appeared. It had no weapon but the thick skin reminded him not to loose the sword as the sword seemed to be the only thing that can penetrate the skin of this creature.
Edword had learnt some basic fighting skills from his martial art class in earth. But never took it seriously. So, he was still blue belt when he died. Still, beating the hell out of this weakling seems too easy to him. So, he slashed the sword when the Gnom like creature was close. Thought it should be over for a fragile creature like this. But strangely the Gnom jumped backword right before the sword could touch it. Its agility was good, though it was not amazing but it was good enough to make Edword sweat. Moreover the damn Gnom was running from him after it felt danger.
Where are you going? Stop running and except your death. Edword shouted. Who knows what the Gnom understood from the shout. It stopped and looked back at Edword. Its facial expression was strange. Seemed like it was mocking but suddenly it started to run towards Edword and Edword could clearly see the sharp teeth in its mouth.
A sense of danger flashed through his mind and without thinking anything he pushed his hands forward and slashed. The sword cut through the thick skin of the Gnom and Edword didn't have enough strength to pull it off from the Gnom's body. The cheeeee hiiiiii sound stopped and reminded him the fact that he won against the Gnom.
Bang... "Level Up" The system notification arrived almost instantly.

Wow that's a lot of information there. Let me check the stat first

So, the damn system is not as bad as I thought. At-least it's working. Now what about the class and subclass(3)? Guess I have to wait to understand. The stat option seems to be a bit wired. Some are lavel based like : "Beginner" and some are number based like "Luck: 1". Edword couldn't finish his thought as he heard the sound of something.
Damn ..No...
Three Goblins were rushing towards him with their sword like weapons. Moreover each of them had shield and armor on them. There is no way the current Edword can defeat them. So he started running in opposite direction. Suddenly something heavy landed on his back and a sharp pain gradually taking over his body and mind. Edword fell and was about to loose consciousness because of the pain. Suddenly a light formed around his body and he found himself standing again inside the granite cave with a certain notification in the system
"You are revived. Get ready as the enemy is approaching"

Damn... So I would continuously die and revive? There is no way to avoid the pain of death. Still, better than being a nobody on earth. I got to see the end of this. Let's use the damn skill. How do I get closer to them and land a strike? Moreover they got shield as well as armor. There is no guarantee that my hit will kill them. I need to get closer. Wait ...I still got the armor and boot. But how do I equip? Before he can say the word "Equip", he found the armor and boot is already on his body. It as amazing. Just how fast I can change gear then? The system is amazing.
Edword started to run towards the place where the enemy first appeared (toward those small gate like things). Suddenly 3 gate opened and Edword dashed towards the close one. He was thinking of using "Multiple Slash" but before he can say anything, his hand was moving and making multiple slashes with the sword. The first Goblin was sliced into pieces. But the other two was running at him with high speed.
System Notification "Multiple Slash Upgraded To Level 2"

"Goblin Shield Acquired"
Edword didn't get time to become happy as he had to block the incoming attack of another goblin. He blocked with his short sword but the third goblin was already close enough to block his leg movement. It directly slashed its sword like weapon through the right part of his belly. The pain was too much for Edword. The armor had protected as much as it could and the weapon couldn't reach his skin directly. Otherwise he may had to revive again.
Edword Jumped backword and started to run. He equipped the goblin armor, cap and the shield during running. The goblin armor was better than the first one. Thank god, that those goblin's weapons are not sharp like swords. He must kill those two goblins to survive. Edword stopped running and turned back to start attacking. Both of the goblins came at the same time as he activated multiple slash again. This time it was 5 slashes. One died instantly while the other one got injured and its shield was broken. Still it jumped and tried to cut Edword in half with its weapon. Edword blocked with his shield and directly shoved the sword in the goblin's lower abdomen and sliced left. The goblin died silently.

Edword was astonished with this development. So I can increase my stats by killing those monsters and without even leveling up. But my Strength, Stamina and Mana still showing "Beginner". Then what is the implication of this "+2" increase? The best thing is, I got two new skills, even without leveling up. Those two new skills are already in skill tree.
