While the father and son had been trying to get along, thanks to the rumor that had spread in the whole of the Midlands, the culprit in question was still sleeping.

Since he had slept late last night, and he had no actual responsibilities waiting for him this time, he had tucked himself under the covers and stayed there. He didn't want to get up. There was no Criselda to tell him to go train with the warriors, and no Heide to remind him to be careful.

He was free, and while it was a crazy set, he refused to think about anything. He just hoped that the gossip master, Raven, had done what he had told her to because that was the basis for his stay in Udrad.

He had wanted to stay here for a week at most, and that rumor would make Edison feel like he had some sort of power over what Alanor did and what he didn't do. Alanor wanted him to feel like the king, and then he would shove the man in dangerous waters.
