Chapter 38: Love and Separation
3RD Person
Axle opened his Jedi and Sith holocron to talk to Ellisia. "Master....it happened. Ahsoka and I are all that's left.....everyone is....gone." Axle says. Ellisia puts her hand on his shoulder, "I know." "What should I do?" he asked. Ellisia gave him a sympathetic smile, "It is time. You are ready." She outstretched her hand as a bright glowing light appeared over her students head. "By the power of the Jedi. By the power of the Sith. Axle Tinguard. You have completed the trials of both light and dark. You have reached true Knighthood." Axle just stood there and bowed his head. "Pass on what you have learned." Ellisia said.
Axle woke up on his ship. Ahsoka walked in, "How are you feeling?" "I should be asking you that." Axle said, bringing her into a hug, "Do you wish to learn more about the force?" Ahsoka thought for a second, "Yes I do." Axle then broke their hug, "I can teach you. If you are up for it." Ahsoka smiled. "Yes. Yes I would like that." "Just one thing. Don't call me Master. That'll just be creepy." Axle said, making them both laugh. "It's just you and me against the galaxy now. And we'll face anything together." Ahsoka said as a small tear dropped from her face. Axle smiled at her, "We might have lost a lot, but you will never lose me. Do you understand?" Ahsoka nodded as more tears fell from her face. "Where did you even get enough credits to buy this ship anyway?" Ahsoka asked, smiling and laughing through her tears. Axle felt some tears falling down his face and laughed, "You know those credits we were supposed to pay Hondo a while ago?" Ahsoka smirked and laughed. She pushed Axle on the bed as they still had small tears falling from their eyes. Ahsoka got on top of him and they continued to kiss.

Months went by and Ahsoka learned more about both sides of the force. Even though she cannot be corrupted by the dark side, Axle taught her how to control her hate. Ahsoka wasn't the only one growing stronger. Axle was too as he continued to perfect his technique.
They made credits doing heists or quick jobs while hiding their identity. After they constructed new lightsabers, they would work on their saber skills. One day Axle thought it was time to return to the force gateway, but this time Ahsoka was ready to join him. Axle explained the process of entering the gateway. "Just because you are immune to the darkness, does not remove hatred from your body. Use it to open the Sith Holocron together with your knowledge of opening the Jedi Holocron. Don't worry, I'll help you." Axle explained. Ahsoka hesitated, then nodded. She got on her knees on one end of the table while Axle knelt down on the other end of the table. The two holocrons sat in the middle. "Now reach out and close your eyes." Axle instructed as he and Ahsoka focused on the Holocrons. Ahsoka struggled a bit, but was able to open both Holocrons. Axle learned how to use his emotions to enter without the use of holocrons, but Ahsoka didn't have the correct amount of strength to maintain both holocrons' energy.
Once both holocrons were finally open, Axle gave the next instruction, "Now open your eyes and stare into the light." Ahsoka woke up in a white room. Axle was talking to Ellisia when she stood up. "Axle, is this Ellisia?" she asked. "Yes. Ellisia, meet Ahsoka Tano." Axle answered. Ellisia smiled, "Hello Ahsoka. I've heard a lot about you." Ahsoka smirked at Axle, "Have you now?" Ellisia laughed, "Yes. Every time he would enter the gateway, he would talk about you for 5 to 10 minutes." Axle smiled and put his hand on her shoulder, "What can I say? You're the most important part of my life." Ahsoka stared into his eyes and smiled. "This place is what you would call a center of the force. All your power is channeled here. You have successfully entered through the holocrons, which means your powers are growing. Your test is complete. Axle, you have done well training her, but I cannot teach her as I have already taught you. May the force be with you both." as she ascended and disappeared.
Ahsoka woke up in their room. Axle stood up and reached his hand out to help her up. They grinned at each other.

Years went by. They lived a sort of happy life. They agreed not to get married as they don't want to forget who they once were. Ahsoka then became powerful enough for her final step. When she walked into their room, Axle was meditating. He got up and faced her, "Ahsoka, you are ready." Ahsoka looked confused, "What do you mean?" Axle ignited his green saber, "Kneel." Ahsoka did as she was told. "You were never properly given the rank of Knight as a Jedi. But you have become something greater. By the power of the Jedi. By the power of the Sith. Ahsoka Tano. You have reached true Knighthood." Ahsoka then stood up, "I love you." Axle smiled, disengaging his saber, "I love you too." They again pulled each other on the bed.

After another year, Senator Bail Organa found the two Gray Jedi. He offered for them to join him and his small group of rebels. They accepted and founded the Fulcrum network. Chase and the rest of the 338th joined the rebellion and helped gain a small number of ships. Months later, they realized the Empire was closing in on the rebels. They knew they had to split up.
Ahsoka started to full on cry, "We promised we wouldn't split up ever again. What about us?" Axle has never seen Ahsoka so upset before, "It's not forever. Once the Empire thinks the rebellion is gone, I'll be standing right here with you." He started to feel tears falling also. "It's for the greater good." Ahsoka ensured. Axle smiled at her and laughed a little through his tears, "Yea. It's for the greater good." They hugged and kissed for as long as time could allow. Chase and Senator Organa tried to pull them apart for almost an hour. Their hands slowly slipped away creating the strongest friction known to man as they were pushed to the opposite sides of the airlock. They both gave one last sad look at each other before the blast doors sealed and Ahsoka's ship along with Senator Organa detached and flew off. Axle laid his head against the blast door and continued to punch it out of pure sadness and hatred.

Ahsoka's group would later be called Phoenix Squadron. She would be the lead agent for the Fulcrum network. Ahsoka would hold out in the Lothal sector. Axle reunited with the 338th and assembled a small fleet. They would be known as Shadow Legion. Axle would be made General of Shadow Legion and would hold out in the Saleucami sector. He would also be a critical agent in the Fulcrum network. They couldn't contact each other since the distance of the transmission could be traced. Axle and Ahsoka are now completely separated and who knows when they will be able to see each other again.
