Chapter 3: Chapter 3
After around 30 minutes of riding, we arrive at a place that has a pretty big house with a farm attached and in a field, I see around 10 cows and some crops. I then hear the man get off the wagon and then he comes to the back and picks me up and tosses me on the ground.
'Ouch, that kinda hurt.'<Jack>
"Follow me."<Buyer>
I then get up and quickly follow after him as he leads me two a barn and he opens the door and points to a small bed of hay in a corner.
"Now time to go over the rules, Rule one that pile of hay is your bed and it is where you will be if you're not working, Rule two if you're ever late to when I need you will be punished, rule three if you ever disobey me you will be punished, and rule four, if you ever leave my property without my permission you will be punished. Do you understand?"<Buyer>
"umm yes but I have a question."<Jack>
"Go ahead."<Buyer>
"What should I call you like what is your name?"<jack>
"Just refer to me as master, but my name is William. Now just stay in here because I have to go out again. You start working tomorrow. Meet me at my house right after sunrise.<William>
He then shuts the barn doors and I am left standing there.
'That was quick he just throws me in here and leaves. Isn't he scared that I might escape when he is gone? Or maybe the magic slave crest thing stops me from escaping. I am kinda scared to attempt it.'<Jack>
'I can't believe I have to refer to him as master.'<Jack>
I then go and lay down on the pile of hay.
'This sucks.'<Jack>
I then lay there bored for a while until I fall asleep.
I wake up a few hours later and see that it is night time.
'I wonder if he is back yet.'<jack>
My stomach then growls and I put my hand on it and rub it.
'I also wonder if he will give me food.'<Jack>
I then sit there for a while until I hear the sound of a cart not too far away and I try to look through a small crack in the barn wall and I see him walk into his house.
'He doesn't even check on me.'<Jack>
My stomach then growls again.
'Looks like no food tonight.'<jack>
I then go back to the pile of hay and lay back down and eventually fall asleep again.
Next morning
I am awoken by the barn doors opening and I see William my new master walk-in.
I then get up and notice that I didn't wake up in time and forgot to listen to what he said.
'Damn if only I had an alarm clock because it's pretty hard to wake up exactly when you want to without one.'<jack>
I then see William's hand start to glow a little and I see the same symbol he got yesterday appear on his hand and I then suddenly feel a sharp pain start on my shoulder and spread through my body and I notice my slave crest started to glow.
I then put my hand on my slave crest.
'What the hell is this? Is it the slave magic?'<Jack>
After around 10 seconds my slave crest stops glowing the pain slowly lightens.
"I told you if your late you will be punished. The more you screw up the worse I will make the pain"<William>
"Now come on."<William>
I then start to follow him and on the way, he throws me a piece of bread.
"Every day when you come to me in the morning I will give you some of the scraps of my breakfast."<William>
I then start to eat the bread and I notice that my throat is really dry.
"Umm master what about water?"<Jack>
"You can get some from the well when you start work."<William>
He then gives me some jobs that I have to finish before he comes back at noon and so I set off to work.
'Now how exactly am I supposed to do this I never worked on a farm before.'<Jack>
I then recall what he told me to do and my list of work consists of collecting chicken eggs and milking his cows.
'Hmm collecting the chicken eggs should be pretty easy, but where are his chickens.'<jack>
I then walk around for a little bit until I find a building around the size of a semi-truck trailer.
'Is this where they are?'<Jack>
I then open the doors and see tons of chickens in little cages in the building.
'Crap he has this many how am I supposed to carry this many eggs to his house with these small hands.'<Jack>
I then close the door and go search for something to carry all of the eggs in. And I eventually find a bucket and take it back to the chicken coop.
'Damn it that took far too long.'<jack>
I then open the first cage and try to grab the egg when I feel something hit my hand and I quickly retract my hand.
'Did the chicken just peck me?'<jack>
I then slowly put my hand in the cage and quickly grab the two eggs that are in the cage but sadly I get pecked again.
'Ouch, stupid bird.'<Jack>
I then put the eggs in the bucket and go to the next cage.
'Hmm, I can't fill the bucket up too much because it will probably end up too heavy for me to carry. looks like I will have to take multiple trips.'<jack>
I then pick up the bucket and start to walk back to his house to drop off the eggs.
'Uhh even only around 1/3 full it is still really heavy.'<Jack>
I end up having to take a break halfway to his house.
'What did he tell me to do with the eggs again? Oh, yea he wanted them in the basket by the door to his house.'<jack>
I then start to put the eggs in the basket and after I go back to the chickens and repeat it again and again.
'Finally, I am done now I have to milk the cows.'<Jack>
I then grab a bucket and go to the cows and I slowly walk up to one, scared that a sudden approach would scare it.
But luckily it doesn't really care about me and I then put the bucket under the cow's utters.
'How do I even do this?'<Jack>
I then grab the cow's utters and squeeze it and a little bit of milk comes out. And I continue doing this until the bucket was partially filled up until I took it to William's house and then I went back and did it again but what I sadly didn't realize when I was milking the cows was that William came back and walked up behind me.
I then turn around and see his hand started glowing like in the morning and I once again feel a sharp pain go through my body and my slave crest starts to glow again.
"I thought I told you to be done by the time I got back? I already regret getting you, your just a useless animal."<William>
His hand then stops glowing and I feel the pain slowly fade away.
'Ouch, that hurt more than this morning. And why is he expecting so much out of a 6-year-old like does he think my small body has super speed.'<jack>
"Hurry up and finish."<william>
William then walks away back towards his house. And I quickly try to finish milking the cows and after I finish my first chores it is around 2:00 PM. And he loads all of the eggs into his cart and then loads up the milk.
He then turns to me and gives me some more jobs.
"Now go and dig up the first 3 rows of potatoes and bring them to the house."<William>
And after giving me my new job he goes into his house. And I try to find his potatoes.
And once I find them I look at the tons of rows of potatoes.
'I have to dig up all of this by myself? I am screwed.'<Jack>
I then use the small shovel he gave me and start to dig up the potatoes and after I put them in a bag he gave me.
After about halfway through the first row I take a small break.
'Uhh, this is really tiring but if I don't complete it he will use that stupid magic on me again.'<jack>
I then slowly dig up the potatoes and after around 3 and a half hours I drag the heavy bag of potatoes to his house where he is sitting on his porch reading a book.
He then looks up from his book and sees me struggling to drag the bag and he just stares at me.
'Why is he staring at me? Did I take too long/ Is he going to use that magic again?'<Jack>
He then goes into his house and comes back out with a piece of bread and tosses it at me.
"You're done for the day, you can go back into the barn."<William>
I then slowly make my way to the barn with my piece of bread and collapse on my pile of hay.
'Uhh, I am so tired this body is defiantly not made for this.'<Jack>
I then eat my bread and fall asleep after a horrible day.
