Chapter 2: The Introduction

Before even becoming part of a world that seemed so surreal, I Katie a seventeen year old was being faced with high school senior year. Along with some other friends, we were challenged by crams of schoolwork. Feel me if you can relate to having teachers that continuously piles assignments on you and drop unexpected quizzes at you. Teenagers would not exist without the harshness of puberty, one morning you just wake up to seeing an ugly humongous zit on your cheek. My parents would insist I put on a hoody and go to school whenever I complained about pimples. Besides all those tribulations, peer pressure from acquaintances was far the worst. The wealthy kids stuck together while the average fights for a spot at the table.

Everyone desired to break free like a Finch escaping its cage. If you wanted to become popular, you had to attend many parties but first the trick was to get invited. You had to stoop to conquer or grasp the attention of the rich. Achieving this can only be done by, completing their assignments and grabbing their lunches then deliver it at their table. For Dorian’s big bashes you just needed to draw his attention by dressing exquisite, he himself will hand you the invitation. These parties where the ticket from Dorian to have an opportunity to go to an excelling college. Yes, it is legit, Dorian’s father happens to be the acquaintance of many college deans.

I was never popular, nor did I ever reckoned to be. We were students of different cast but attended the same crowning private school of mixed boys and girls. Juneau Hill High boarding school was situated on the hillside which was surrounded by freshly cut green grass and chill atmosphere that gives out a welcoming aroma. On one side of the school there was the outstretched green serene, Mirror Crystal lake that give out a breath-taking perspective. Mirror Crystal was a miraculous aspect; the sunset will disappear into the horizon of its cold blue mountains. The crimson then deepens to attenuation of purples and dark oranges brightens the scenery of the sky. Not far, the deep wonderment of the spooky woods stood alternate of Juneau High school. Many students were afraid to venture into it, as rumor had spread that it was hunted.

I always had a gut feeling that one day I may just find myself wandering into the path of the misty forest. I dared to see the beauty that lies beneath its darkness of ginormous branched out trees. Unlike my friends, I was not afraid to explore and appreciate new places, therefore I was called creepy Katie by them.

However, if I had to describe myself, I would politely say a slender figure with mesmerizing dark brown eyes carrying ravishing pink plump lips. I adored my long charcoal hair that suits my light complexion. I lived at Fair Haven my entire life dust far with both my parents who were the owners of Creamy Pastries and Yummy Caterers at downtown Juneau. My parents worked all day and sometimes night, I had gotten used to coming home to an empty house. I was the only and spoiled child to my parents.

My parents Lilly and Edmond would spend money on elegant clothes. They expected a daughter like Brithney, but I could not pretend to be her. I had my own bubbly personality; I love short summer dresses although Juneau was a cold place. I always desired to visit the balmy California and admire the ocean as the warm sun hits my paled skin. I had a fetish for leather jackets and not soft coats that my mom appreciated. My mother had purchased so many coats and I had traded them with Ariana for her fine taste in leather. She took a visit on a winter trip to Canada and required new coats besides needing them for Juneau coldness. I had most of it my way, homework never completed, room unkempt and wardrobe messy.

There were so many warning letters from my teachers laid on the coffee table which my parents throw a blind eye to. Was I delinquent? Absolutely not, I could pass all my quizzes even if I did not revise. School was simply different for me. I saw it more than I preferred to. It was always the same familiar faces I got tired of seeing, except for my crush. I was searching for another world, I wanted to be free. Arms out stretch facing the vulgar winds above the warm green mountains. My dress would blow as he comes walking towards me. At times I always seem to drool over my crush the fascinating Dorian, just like most of the girls in my class I was desperate for his attention.

He was known as the popular charismatic bad boy of Juneau Hill High school. He could be your dream or your dreadful nightmare if he succeeds a chance with you.

One opportunity sleeping with Dorian was enough to make you bite your lips and then walked the path of shame. However, on the good side, he may just fulfill your one wish. There were a couple of girls at the Nestled café who spoke highly of him. These beauties from Mirror Castle High school could be seen studying at the café owned by my best friend dad. My group used to hang there but after seeing Dorian kissing one of the Mirror Castle girl’s I stopped showing up. Mirror Castle were an all-girls school which appeared to be owned by Dorian’s father. Most of the girls of that school were usually invited to his parties along with Juneau football team Lake Runners.

The name was inspired by the first football team itself back in 1998. Some boys were playing a game of football at the lakeside and the coach happened to notice. Every year there was a big game that most students would attend from both schools. Dorian would host an after-party win or lose, after all most of his friends were from the football team. Everyone who came out to support were expected to attend. Although it was not one of his exotic parties, it was still an opportunity to be a part of his world. Cheap beers and lots of hot girls was an ideal thing for most of them. He could make you famous, as soon as the parties were over, he would cut his girls loose and act like it was their fault. With him, there was leisure and pleasure, and even heartbreak, said every girl he once dated.

Not many of the girls wanted to finish high school without attending one of his illustrious parties of delicious nonstop fun. He was the hyped of the parties which he all hosted, that stood out to be remarkably exciting and juicy. Many who went to these parties before spoke about the messed-up addictive drugs and the hyped from too much intoxication. They also mentioned the wild exotic sex on displayed and the lavished venue he had. He was a bad boy prince because he was abundant and could afford to live a reckless, defiant, and drunk life. I viewed his parties too extravagant, a waste of money and time. There was nothing much to gained from these events besides exposing your experience and getting a little lucky to get into college.

I had judged him as the rich lonely boy, an attention seeker who cried to be loved. He was the one I wished to change; he was a hell of a task to take on by yourself. Somehow, I found it attractive that I wished to win the bad boy’s heart. Frankly, I had means to challenge myself to get him to acknowledge that I existed. Even the nerds succeeded in movies to win over their crushes. As he stands with his illuminating appearance, my heartbeat increases for the eighteen-year hunk. It felt like stars fell from above when his paled toned body shined as he walked past me. He was like an aglow moon with a radiant smile, he was one of a kind. His look was structured with dreamy dark brown eyes and a small, molded nose. When his smile glowed, he slicked his brown shoulder length hair backwards.

Of course, a prince would have the sexiest of soldiers by his side, it is how I viewed them. Dorian always moved with his luscious of intriguing knights that were close to him. Here everyone at school was familiar and amiable with the rich stud. They all desired to be his close associate because of his popularity. He could be seen with his clan Jess, the quiet and intense cautious friend. Jess was saner but always followed the insane Dorian. I could not understand why he chose to befriend Dorian. He was too hot to be true, Jess works out every day by his hot lean body. How could I forget he had a captivating smile of white pearls and a rear behind, so firmed yet so tight that it deserved to be grabbed. Nev was the seducing stud who seemed to stay out of the controversy.

He was diplomatic about himself, like Jess. He was never seen with a girl before like the rest of his kin. Either he kept his relationship hidden or he was just single and not interested.

However, he was of one divine gorgeousness, and had an appealing serious look. Sharp face, bearing a straight molded nose. Nev had the perfect piercing blue eyes that blossoms with his thin pink lips which widens his cute smile. He had the most gorgeous strands of thick dark brown hair to complete his look. Rumor has it, he was a challenging one from the groups to confront. Nev had turned down every girl that had showed interest in him. Besides Dorian, many eyes never shamed to stare at the hunk rob of hearts, Avan. He was the perfect captain and quarter back of the school football team. Recently he was the topic of the school for he had just broken things off with Jessica the cheer captain.

Now that he stands available many girls seek his interest. Who could deny a ripped body, wavy dark hair that fell above piercing blue eyes and leaded to a straight nose? He was the perfect daydream for any girl with his genuine yet beautiful smile. No one cared to enquire the reason for his breakup, it was all blissful news to his crush’s ears. My thoughts, he was tired of the gossip and Jessica’s appetite for attention. There were more to the group, but these were just the main studs of the school. Ariana, Maya, and Brithney were the close classmates to me. We were the weird girls of Juneau Hill High.

Maya was the easy going of all, she was gentle, excellent academic achiever and soft spoken. Her words of wisdom were always appreciated if needed during times of counselling. She came from a humble family and lived with her father who owns Mirror Crystal news channel company.

She had one sister and brother who were younger than her. Maya mother Amelia and her father John had divorced two years ago because of differences and her new love. Maya was never crushing on any of the guys in our class to my knowledge, yet it does not mean she did not secretly do. She was always called a cutie at school by her brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes and the red lipstick stain on her lips.

Brithney was the top scholar of our school, she was incredibly talented because she participated in most of the talent shows and won them all. She had the best vocals I ever heard in Juneau. A high achiever she had to be because of the stringent parenting. Brithney’s dreamed of becoming a successful Neurologist in the future. The young girl got her name from a combination of both her parents, Briton and Neyah who were both successful psychiatrist at Juneau mental hospital Mirror Waters.

She was their only child which made her so dear to them. Besides her great dedication towards school and her versatile voice she was also a rare beauty. Very elegant and primed she dressed leaving no room for disappointment. Brithney could fill right in the groupies of wealthy students. Her brunette wavy hair falls below her shoulder blades, she had her eyes make up like a fairy. It suited her well, slightly large with deep blue pupils popped of long eyelashes. She also had a sexy toned body to show off on a hot summer day, c cup boobs and a nice round butt.

High School was never Ariana's interest, she had a tough phase growing up without her mother being part of her life. Although her father struggled to take care of Ariana and her older brother Josh, it was never enough. Mr. Andrew always was weary when we used to visit his café. They were the most depressed family I had ever seen in Juneau ever since Nina his wife died. His café the Nestled cafe was once a hyped while Nina was alive. They were always busy with customers going in and out. It had only been a year; the death is still raw, and I guess the family has not gotten passed it. Ariana never spoke about what really happened to Nina. We were all left in curiosity after the closed casket funeral.
